I have been renting an apartment managed by Hajjar and have experienced nothing but good customer service. Over the last 10 months or so I can not think of one complaint I have had. more

Hajjar Management was TERRIBLE. They began doing very serious, loud, and disruptive construction work shortly after my roommates and I moved in. The construction work consisted of jackhammering up the concrete flooring of the hallway immediately outside my apartment. The jackhammering lasted only for about two weeks, but for those two weeks my roommates and I were absolutely miserable. The noise was so bad that we couldn't even hold a conversation, much less sleep, study, or concentrate. Even when the jackhammering stopped, the construction work continued for MONTHS. This created a significant level of noise that often began very early in the morning. Hajjar routinely shut off the water in our apartment. Talking with management did not help. We were repeatedly told that the construction work was almost complete (when it wasn't), that it was absolutely necessary and unavoidable, etc. I understand that if construction work is necessary, it is necessary- but you don't rent apartments during MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION! My roommates and I had to break our lease only six months after we moved in. We moved out on different days over the course of a week. After two of us had moved out, and the third was still packing (and a few days before the day we agreed to move out) Hajjar came into the apartment while the third was out for the day, threw everything from her closet into a box and started repainting. I lived in an apartment in Allston that was managed by Hajjar. They were slow to respond to repair requests. There is an insect and rodent infestation in the building that they failed to fix. \r When I left the apartment, the management company allowed realtors to enter my apartment without giving me notice. On three separate occasions my apartment was left unlocked (by maintenance and by realtors) and there was one attempted break-in because someone had left my windows open and blinds up (it was a 1st floor apartment). I had to file a police report. Pros: No security deposit required, no realtor fee Cons: Poor management, insect and rodent infestations more

I was looking for an apartment and kept being jerked around by realtors trying to show me terrible apartments and telling me I need to up my price range. Then I found Hajjar...I met with Mike who showed me the apartment I had been looking for and, guess what?!, it was exactly the price I wanted. They told me if I wanted anything different they could change it and they actually meant it. I bought oversized couches and chairs and he came by to cut off the top of my doorway so I could fit the couch in my apartment...THEY ARE GREAT. Pros: Quick response. Goes above and beyond calls of duty. Cons: nothing. more
