Our prayers were answered when this lovely neighborhood cafe opened a few years ago--previously the choices on our block were a Chinese place, two pizza places and a couple of soul food restaurants. Green Apple Cafe came into the mix and provided just what this street needed: a cozy little coffeeshop with healthy salads and sandwiches, great smoothies, good coffee and probably the best brunch this side of Fort Greene Park. Service is always friendly and the pancakes with caramelized bananas and walnuts are absolutely yummy.
