Horrible Customer Service!!! 7/2/2011

I just returned from a emergency room visit with my daughter, who is suffering from an ear infection. I was treated horribly by a nurse who walked in to get patient information as my daughter's blood pressure was being taken. This nurse, named Tonya, was rude, confrontational and thought she could intimidate me, as she is very tall, overweight and obviously under the impression she can treat patients and their families however she likes and they will cower. All I did was pull a empty rolling chair over to where my daughter was so I could sit next to her, and Tonya unloaded unloaded on me, telling me to get out of her chair and no, I could not use the patient chair next to her desk, either. I was exhausted and asked her to excuse me, I was very tired (4:30 AM) and simply wanted to sit down. Once in the ER, I asked the lady who processed my insurance information if I could have a number to register a complaint. She said she would get the number for me and never returned. I then asked the nurse attending us for a number and she wrote it down for me immediately. This nurse in admitting will be reported for unprofessional behavior and I will not let it go with just a phone call. Something needs to be done about this. I refuse to be treated in such a rude and disrespectful manner by anyone! The nerve of some people! As I was leaving, Tonya made sure to be right there, standing behind the desk and giving me the nastiest look possible. I cannot believe a hospital would allow someone with such a nasty disposition and horrible people skills to come into contact with their patients. It was a very negative visit and I have frequented this hospital for years, never having to deal with any employees as nasty as this one was. Obviously, she has acted this way and gotten away with it before, as I couldn't imagine someone concerned with keeping their job would be so rude to anyone patronizing their business. more

Surgicare 1/7/2009

I have had surgeries before at this hospital that were 5 star treatment. I had two this year 2008 that make me scared to go back. The surgicare has gotten so business like that the people had cold attitudes both times. I had special needs this time and they didn't care to respond. I will NOT be going back. more

My experience at The Good Samaritan in Cincinnati 8/30/2006

My name is Pam and I had a benign brain tumor removed at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Aug. of 2006. I initially was going to have my surgery in Louisville, but thank God we were told about The Mayfield Clinic. I cannot say enough good things about the clinic, my surgeon, the hospital and all of their kind staff. I've had alot of dealings with several other hospitals in our area because my father has had alot of health problems, so compared to all my other experiences The Good Samaritan Hospital cannot even be compared. We are self-insured, so we understand that there would be some apprehension from the financial perspective at the hospital, but Barbara, in the finance department, has been so nice to my husband, who has had to handle everything. During my 11 hour surgery the staff and surgeon ( God bless that man for staying with the job until it was done ) kept my family well informed . I am truly convinced that if I had stayed in Louisville for my surgery the outcome would have been much different. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery and I am doing fantastic. Thank you all and Gog bless you. Sincerely, Pam more

Two Good Experiences With Good Sam 5/16/2006

I had 2 recent surgeries at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. The first one was in January of 2006; it was outpatient. The staff and doctors took excellent care of me. The second surgery was in late March of 2006. Again, a good experience. This visit was in-patient. The nurses took great care of Yours Truly. I had a problem with nausea and anxiety when I was supposed to be discharged and had to stay another day, and the nurse promptly called my doctor, and he ordered something for the nausea. It must've worked because I didn't get ill and actually went to sleep for several hours. I had my pre-operative testing done at Good Sam, and the Surgicare staff did a good job with that. I will also let you know that you can apply for financial assistance in an easy manner; it's on the back of your bill. I'm trying to stick with this hosptial for most of my needs since they already are quite familiar with me (ha ha). Watch out when exiting the parking garage (Upper Dixmyth Garage) when you go down the ramps to get to the light because if you have a large vehicle, you can easily get your tires stuck on the curb and might loosen your hubcap (grins). I don't recommend exiting the other way if you can help it because you cannot see very well to get out onto Clifton Avenue if there are cars coming because they might take your front end off. more
