We joined Goldrush Getaways ten years ago. At first we did not use it and wondered if we wasted our money. Then we started doing one cruise a year for ourselves, then booked travel for family and friends. Now that we are retired, we cruise 4-5 times a year, have taken several groups on cruises, and have done FAM (familiarization) trips as Travel Agents. Went to China for 7 days for $799 including air, hotels, sightseeing. We have averaged $5,000 + in commissions during years that we have taken groups. And we didn't have to ""pound the pavement"" to find travelers; they were friends and friends of friends. Once I accidentally used the wrong name for an air ticket and Goldrush people were able to get it changed for me without a penalty fee. We attend the workshops occasionally and have gotten great ideas from the vendors who put them on. Goldrush is not intended to be an investment or a business opportunity. Nor is it a travel agency for the general public. It is to help you become an agent. They give support and help when needed. It is NOTHING like YTB. That is a pyramid scheme. I have friends who went with YTB and were excited to get $6 commission, plus pay $50 a month for their website. We get large commissions and they are paid in a timely manner.
I have recommended Goldrush to friends who did join and were glad of it. The only complaint I have heard is that they are upset they don't have more time to travel. That is not Goldrush's fault. I would join again in a minute, knowing what I do about the company.
Pros: good customer service, great travel opportunities
