We were really happy with the service and quality we got from Gold & Diamond Source. So much so that this is where we ended up getting my engagement ring! I say ""we"" because I picked it out myself, basically. I've been to a ton of stores in the area and we seriously considered rings from other stores in our local aea, but we kept coming back to Gold & Diamond Source. For starters, everyone on the staff really knows their stuff about diamonds. They explained the 4Cs and in the end we went with a lovely pear shape diamond (coming back in style!) I loved it the moment I saw it, even though the one in the store was in a different setting. The nice thing is that there's a matching band for this too so it'll sit flush and there's no need to hook anything together. By the way, based on personal experience, if they tell you a particular stone is going to sell fast, it probably will. We originally wanted another one but my fiance procrastinated and by the time he called back (about two weeks or so later), it was gone and so were the other two we looked at. As such, when we saw this stone that was exactly the size/specs we were looking for, we jumped on it. I highly recommend Gold & Diamond Source!! more

I have been to G&DS a number of times and the response time for someone to acknowledge you after walking in the door averages about 3 seconds. The amount of attention paid to new patrons is astounding. There are always enough people on hand to take care of anything you need. Even on the day before Valentine's Day someone was able to help me within a few minutes. I recently bought my wedding band at G&DS, had second thoughts and went back to see what could be done. I was outside their specified return / exchange period by a few months but was treated like it was not a problem. Mais was so helpful I would recommend her to any new customers. I love to make sure I am getting the best of the best when I buy jewelry... SHOP: Let me start off by saying that this shop had one of the most professional and gorgeous looking shops. They have a beautiful showroom with all the equipment necessary to show the customer their diamond selection. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Customer service was exceptional! The entire staff make a really good effort to find you a stone that meets your criteria. They are all very honest and will tell you if the diamond doesn't have fire and brilliance. I really liked the fact that they were technologically savvy and responded to emails in a timely manner, even after business hours. KNOWLEDGE: Everyone was very knowledgeable and educated me on the various characteristics of a diamond (Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat). They've been in the business for quite a long time know so they know what they are talking about. Gold & Diamond Source is not like a lot of other jewelry stores,they dont have difficulty explaining what all the characteristics of the diamond are and what they really mean. I feel like Gold & DIamond Source truly understand diamonds and can explain everything you need to know to make a wise decision. SELECTION: They have access to tons of diamonds across the US. If they cant get you the diamond that you are looking for, Im not sure it exists. PRICING: Another thing that I liked about Gold & Diamond Source was that when I gave him my budget and found plenty of stones within my range within a day or two. A lot of other diamond stores show you whats already in the store (1-2 stones), then tell you that you have to wait another week or two to find another stone. Based on the 25+ stores that I went to, Gold & Diamond Source pricing has been extremly competitive. I would definitely check out his store again when I'm in the market to purchase another piece. I love the one that Gold & Diamond helped me pick out. I do believe, it is the best piece of jewelry that I currently own!! I feel excellent about my purchase and would highly recommend Gold & DIamond Source for any and all of you jewelery needs. more

I wanted some extra cash and decided to sell some gold and silver jewelry I no longer wear. Some of my old pieces were unmarked and I was completely uncertain of their quality and extremely nervous about the whole entire, buying/selling process. However, the staff at Gold & Diamond Source did a great job describing what I had and showing me how the processed worked, putting my mind at ease. I left with much more cash than I thought I was going to receive. I will be giving the jewelry box a second look and making another trip soon. What a Great experience. I am so happy that I found Gold & Diamond Source! I've only sold/pawned gold two times before in my life and it always felt like I was doing something kinda shady. Yet this was a totally difference experience, they didn't look at me like I was crazy when I asked about the price of the troy ounce, everything was conducted right in front of you, the place is clean, the gentlemen that took care of me was completely professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was a completely pleasant experience. No one made me feel pressured. The price I received was much more than I anticipated, too! I wish I had found this place before. Naturally, when talks of getting married started getting serious and my now husband told me that I could choose my own ring, we headed to Gold & Diamond Source. My sister had emailed them what I wanted along with my budget so they had a stone picked out for me already. They were very patient in explaining everything my husband and I needed to know and answered all of our questions. I didn't feel good about only seeing one stone so I asked to see others. They brought out other great stones in my price range but his instinct was right. I liked the first stone the most. I returned a few more times before making my final decision and I couldn't have been happier with the final product. I get compliments about my ring all the time. Originally, we had started out looking for a trinity style diamond anniversary ring for when a tragedy befell us and we lost our first wedding rings and diamond engagement ring, as well as many other personal items of jewelry. We came to you with our hearts in our hands, hoping that you could helps us find a new way of expressing our love for each other which had developed over 20 years of marriage, and the thought to continue on positively into the future. The Gold & Diamond Source understood our need to have a different stone than a diamond, but with the same inner beauty that she had delighted in the ring she had been given before. Imagine our delight when we were presented with this beautiful spinel, that matched the color of her harp on which she plays therapeutic music for patients at the hospital she volunteers at! Its color has such richness, warmth and depth to it, and the bonus was the rainbows that shone through it in the bright sunlight when she viewed it on the day that had been her father's birthday...we knew it was a sign that it was the right stone then and there! They listened to our story of the koi pond that we had commissioned and was built in our back yard as a previous anniversary gift. Together we found our new engagement ring and wedding rings. The spinel rests in a lotus flower, with two aquamarine buds on either side, to represent our children. The wedding rings have the waves in the pond where the waterfall comes in, with aquamarine bubbles, and an etched lotus on either side. All are set in 18K rose gold, to set the tone for a rosy future. The rings are VERY comfortable, fit just right on our hands, and even the large stone ring doesn't spin when im playing the harp. They are a joy to behold and will be a wonderful legacy to leave to our children when we are gone. Well I did my research and most of the other gold and diamond stores didnt pay near the same as Gold and Diamond Source! Gold and Diamond Source pay the highest. $63 more than one, & $132 more than another offer. I was in and out in under 10 minutes, pleasant experience, friendly staff. I will do business with them again. Thanks for making this easy. more

I took several rings into three jewlers hoping to sell them. The last place I went was the Gold and Diamond Source. They advertise that they pay the most, well they offered me $5500 for the jewelry. Sounds like a good offer however I was offered $7600 at one place and $10,200 at another. All offers were on the same dayand within 2 hours of each other. Gold and Diamond Source stated the diamonds weren't good and all I could get was the value for the gold. The other companies said several of the diamonds were very nice and they were willing to pay for them. You don't have to ask where I ended up at, and no it wasn't the Gold and Diamonfd Source. Get other quotes before going there, you'll be suprised. more

After 3 failed attempts with other jewelers to repair the rough edges on my wedding ring set, I walked in there extremely frustrated... but the sales clerk promised me, ""You will not be disappointed when you leave here"". She was right. They found a chip on the center diamond that another jeweler had covered up the previous time I had it in to be repaired. GDS not only repaired my ring, but it looks brand new! And it only took 2 weeks! I will be taking all of my jewelry there for cleaning, repairs, new purchases...and upgrades, eventually :) Thank you, GDS! more

I was in the market for a gift for my wife. Started earlier this year for once! I decided to shop around to find the best value. Times are tough and we all need to get the most for our hard earned dollar. I had been to a few local jewelry stores without being compelled to make a purchase. Last week, I stopped in at the Gold and Diamond Source. I was pleasantly surprised. They were extremely helpful and knowlegeable. They took the time to educate me on the quality and grade. My family & friends go there because we know we will get the best service, selection and price by far! We all know that they will be there in 10 years so if anything needs to be fixed or upgraded we know we can count on them! In this crisis economy what other jewelers in this area could you depend on for that? Every pop up jeweler on every street corner with a waving finger in this town is NOT who I would take my old jewelry to. My sister just took her old jewelry to several local jewelers to get some extra Christmas spending money and did not even get close to what Gold and Diamond Source paid her. Their philosophy is simple and always has been, give me the customer better selection, better service, better prices and I will keep coming back! Simple and honest! Try getting that long term service from any other jeweler in this town. I recommend them to all my friends & family. My uncle from NC is coming down here next week to see me and also shop for an engagement ring at the Gold & Diamond Source because I recommended them. I KNOW he will get the best deal there! My family has lived in St. Petersburg FL for 20 years, and I know a lot of the people in this town. I am a business owner and know a lot of other business owners in this area. Gold and Diamond Source has always had an impeccable reputation in this town with eveyone we know. Seriously, eveyone I know in this town has been a loyal customer of Gold & Diamond Source for many years. I can tell you that any of those negative reviews below are total bumcass! I know Julie & Steve Weintraub well enough to tell you that they would never let any customer leave without giving 100% excellent customer service & quality & price & honesty! Once you visit I'm sure you will discover their uniqeness to our area as far as jewelers go. Everyone who I've ever met there is extreamely well trained and educated on jewelry. I have bought several watches, rings and earings there and I can tell you each one of those experiences was wonderful and I knew I recieved a great price. I especially like them because they actually listen to what you want and have the best taste in jewelry. Their selection in my opinion is the best in the area by far. This Christmas I will definitely go there and buy something nice for my wife. I won't tell you what I will buy because she might read this review. Ok, first of all, I am not an employee, friend or of any relation to anyone at this store. I'm just an average guy who wanted to buy a nice engagement ring for my girlfriend, at a good price. With that being said, I was totally impressed with everyone I interacted with at this beautiful store. I traded in an old ring toward the purchase of the engagement ring. I felt the trade in amount was fair and the purchase price of the new ring was fantastic!! The engagement ring I purchased displays a 1.75 ct diamond center stone and many small diamonds on the sides of the 18 ct white gold band. I paid 1/2 the cost of mall jewelers!! It's pretty obvious this place is placing fake reviews. Or this place is more popular than Justin Beeber. Any place that won't tell you over the phone what they will pay for scrap 14k or 10k jewelry is not to be trusted. Let's get real here. Nobody needs to ""see"" scrap jewelry that is 14k gold to quote scrap prices. That is like a recycling center saying they can't quote price till they see your aluminum cans. Give me a freaking break. They want you to take the trouble to come to them so that you will accept their offer since you won't feel like driving elsewhere. And the last thing they want you to do is comparison shop by phone. Do yourself a favor, call around! Ok now.....get ready for another fake 5-star rating! more

My husband brought old mine cut diamonds to these so called experts. They actually told him ""old diamonds are not worth much"" How ignorant is that !!! Old mine cuts are worth more than newer lazer cuts . Ask Chrities in New York or Tiffany's. A good diamond is a good diamond and age has nothing to do with it. They don't diamonds, just how to make commercials.!! more
