We have been taking our cats to Gilley Animal Clinic for about 6 years, they provide good service at a good price, the staff is wonderful, without this clinic I could not afford to treat my cats. more

horrible animal clinic. i took my cat because he was throwing up everything he ate. even after they gave him a shot for the v0miting at another clinic. first of all i never got to speak with this gilley person he will not show his face to the clients. his brilliant idea was to give a cat who thr0w up everything some 0ral medicine. obiously he would just throw up the 0ral medicine the same way he thr0ws up after getting shots for not thr0wing up. it also took him 9 hours to run a simple bl00d test and did not put my cat on any kind of fluids for the dehydration even though they said he was going to. he kept my cat in tiny cage all day without taking care of it. when i took my cat to another place later that day they told me the cat has a fever now and is extremely dehydrated thanks to gillies extreme neglect. he kept trying to send the cat home when he obviously needed treatment and i told them i was willing to pay. they could run all the tests they wanted but i guess gillie didn't feel like it. the cat just sat in a cage for 9 hours. this guy has no common sense. i will never set foot at this clinic again. he almost killed my cat. this guy can not handle anything beyond rabies shots. the place is dirty too if some one goes to inspect that place they will probably close him down. i hope they do. more

Dr. Gilley saved my Shepard/Collie mix from certain death. Logan became completely lethargic without cause. I waited to see if his condition would improve but it did not. If I had taken my beloved buddy to another Vet, they would have euthanized him on the spot. Dr. Gilley has been amazing. Logan is being treated for Encephalitis (swelling of the brain) and Dr. Gilley has been giving me the medication for the past 7 months for free. Has never asked for a dime, so to those whom claim that he overcharges, etc... maybe you don't love your pups, kitties, etc... as much as HE does. I put no price on the health and well-being of my beloved pups. All four of them see Gilley on a regular basis now and as a disabled individual living on an extremely tight budget; I have to tell you that Dr. Gilley and his staff have treated me like family, and they didn't have to. I was and still am a stranger to them. - On my way to see them now. - My name is Dan Sanchez and I highly recommend Dr. Gilley!!! more

The place might be crazy and the staff a little harsh, but today, my Bella(a 10lb Chihuahua-Poodle) is alive because of Dr Gilley and his crew. This morning Bella got hold of a Bufo Toad and she began vomiting, her limbs went stiff, and she was having seizures. On the way to the clinic we'd thought we'd lost her because her eyes were red and bulging, her tongue was swollen and bluish-black and she was screaming in pain. After spending hours in their clinic, Bella is now home with antibiotics and eye-drops and, though still disoriented from anesthesia, she is on her way to recovery. And no, this is not Dr Gilley's wife or some other staff member, lol. I'm just a very greatful doggyparent who is relieved not to have to say goodbye to my baby. more

I've been going to Gilley since I started living here in Homestead. I have two dogs and I always get excellent care for my dogs. And regarding their prices; I'm on disability I couldn't afford going anywhere else. They have an efficient staff. The staff speaks to you calmly regarding the medicines and how to administer them. The one and only problam that i have with Gilley is that it mostly full and sometimes you have to wait for at least one hour but it is worth the wait. more

Horrible 1/17/2012

I have never seen anything like this. I was shocked! Who is this Dr. Gilley? Nobody knows. They don't make appointments, they tell you to just show up. You walk into a room FULL of sick animals and the floor is covered in urine and vomit. When they call your name a tech comes out and takes your pet behind a door and a few minutes later they come out with the diagnosis and hand you back your pet. I was told my cat received a shot, but they couldn't tell me what kind of shot, and how do I know she even got this shot? Who is this vet? I felt like Dorothy in the Wizzard of OZ, the nightmare version. My questions were answered by the receptionist... what? more

Scammers 12/14/2011

They scam you. They overcharge you on purpose. When you bring it to their attention they say they will give you a discount the next time you're there. Go over your receipt very very carefully. They did this to my friend too. It's their way of trying to make you come back. more

He killed my dog 11/23/2011

How is this guy allowed to practice? No wonder hes so cheap. Your taking a huge risk with Dr (?) Gilley. I had an autopsy done on my 8 month old puppy after he died. Turned out it was the pills (Dr. Gilley prescribed) that killed my baby. He misdiagnosed my little baby!! more

Do not be fooled by BOGUS 5* rewiews! 11/23/2011

Do not be fooled by these bogus 5* reviews that you see here. They were all written by Dr. Gilley, his wife (Miss Gilley who also works in the office) and his staff who need customers to come in to be able to keep their jobs. There is no way this place deserves anything higher than 1 star. If I could give 0, I would. I went there once, and I will never go back again. The only reason I even heard of this place was because they charge very low but they try to make up for it by trying to scam you. Here is my experience: They claimed to have dewormed my dog and charged me additional $12. My dog was never dewormed. When I called them about it, Dr. Gilley's wife tried implying I was lying but once I did not let it go, she said she will make a note on my folder so next time I am there, I will get a $12 discount. Who said I was going to go back there? So if you go there, make sure to go over everything on your receipt. Do not be distracted by the commotion that might be going around you. Review everything. The staff is very rude and impatient though but don't let that stop you from asking them why they charged you what they charged you! more

BEST VET AROUND! 2/18/2009

I've been taking my pets to him for like 14 years now. Long before he was at the location he's at now. He's an awesome vet and very reasonable on price. I hear some people saying something about not caring for animals but he cares for all of Wee-cares animals for FREE. Wee-care takes in all the sick wild animals in Florida. I taken my dogs in there sick with no money and they've even let me pay them later or pay them in installments. They have two rooms and a huge waiting area... all of which were clean. You can choose to sit and wait to see him if you want or they give u the option to walk the dog back to see him while he performs surgeries which saves you major time in having to sit and wait. They also walk the dogs who are getting their shots to the back as well for the vet tech to give the shot. My moms dog was attacked by a pitbull several years back. She took him to the closest vet and kept him until 5pm then called her and said there was nothing they could do, they didn't keep dogs overnight and to come pick up the dog. Then they charged her like $600. She called Gilley and they stayed open to wait for her to get there and gilley took the dog home with him to monitor him 24/7. His chest was ripped open, he had multiple broken ribs and bones and he was in shock. They kept him for a week and did major surgery on him for like $400. In all honesty if it wasn't for gilley he would of died. There was a lady there when we went today that only paid $200 and her dog had parvo. Anyways I think I've proven my point... he's awesome. If you need a vet he's really worth going to. So much worth going to that I drive a little more then an hour to his office and I refuse to take my animals anywhere else. Pros: Friendly, Cheap, Caring, Knowledable... and did I mention CHEAP! more

Long Wait, affordable, friendly vet who cares and knows 10/24/2008

Dr. Gilley has been my pets' vet for about 18 years. He is kind, and personal, and he cares for the animals. As a practical animal lover, he will not lead you down the path of more money, and he will give the best options for the comfort of the dog and your money. My biggest problem is that the wait can be long to see him, even on mornings weekdays. He has been the vet for my PBGV for 10 years, my B Terrier for 12 years, my hound for his few years until tragic accident, and my little Maltese. He knows his dogs and customers by name and I appreciate that he looks out for my pocket as well as my pet. Pros: Personal, affordable Cons: long wait more

Avoid like the plague for anything other than shots... 10/22/2008

As far as I am concerned, Dr. Gilley ki!!ed my dog. I've lived in Homestead my whole life. Every animal I'd ever had since I was little has gone to Dr. Gilley. He USED to be a terrific vet - very inexpensive. When Homestead's population exploded about 5 years ago, his clinic became swamped. They don't take appointments - walk-ins only - so it takes literally about 8 hours to get seen, and sometimes you don't even get to speak to him. Pros: Cheap Cons: You get what you pay for more
