I love supporting local bike stores, but it is safe to say that Gator Cycle will no longer receive my business. I have been there multiple times to purchase products from them (bike computers, tires, tubes, pedals, shoes); however, each time I found myself preferring not to buy from them. The staff was unable to answer most of my questions with regards to some of their products and in some cases even gave me WRONG information. Having researched the products thoroughly before I bought them I was able to pick up on their lack of knowledge and decided to take my business elsewhere.
Shopping at Gator Cycle is an uncomfortable experience with the staff constantly looking over your shoulder and pressuring you to make a purchase. I have known riders that have been improperly fit to their bicycles at this bike shop. I do not recommend buying a bike from here.
Their shop skills are lacking at best. Last weekend I decided to go mountain bike riding for a change with a friend whom had just purchased a mountain bike from gator cycle. Needless to say, their crank arm fell off mid-ride!! Surely something which I thought was impossible; however, Gator Cycle managed to do it!
