Garden of Eaton

This used to be my go to be my and many of my friends for all my fruits an veggies, but since the new ownership took over it is the worst!!! The new owner is rude and she has closed on Sundays and changed the hours multiple times. How can you run a business when you are constantly changing your hours. The fact that the store is now closed on Sunday is inconvenient, but now you don't open until 9 and close at 6 which is a far cry from the established 7am-7pm - 7 days a week slogan the stand had for so many years! That could be the reason it is always empty when I drive past now. I pulled in at 6:20 the other night making a special trip to your store and when I arrived it was all locked up. While sitting in the parking lot at least 4 other customers pulled in to be as surprised as I was that the hours had been changed yet again!\r This stand used to be a great local business which is being driven into the ground which is extremely sad! more

I recently revisited Garden of Eaton in south Tampa. Previous times visiting I hadnt always felt welcome or thought the store was very tidy. I understand its an outside market and some dirt is inevitable, but it just seemed unkept. \r On my most recent trip though I had noticed a visible change. The store seemed very well kept and everything was clearly marked. There was a friendly cashier, a new worker there i was told. I also saw a worker stocking and going through the produce the entire time I was there, ""keeping it fresh"" he said. \r The cashier turned me onto what she claimed to be the Best Orange Juice in Tampa. It was excellent! But what I thought was even better, was the Tangarine Juice. I will be going back to get some of that!\r Im now a fan of Garden of Eaton. I hope the recent changes continue and even get better. more

My name is Patty and I have been at the garden of Eaton for alot of years,I by rule dont read the paper at work.If it was me,I sure didnt mean to have been rude ever.I want the Garden to be the best it can be.We have new owners and new rules.Anyone who has been there in recent years can vouch that theres been a great improvement.Sorry.for any misunderstanding if on my part.Everyone must come and judge themselves.As for quality,we buy the best at fair price,and try to pass that on to you. I WENT TO PICK UP SOME VEGETABLES AND I ASKED THE MGR TO HELP ME BECAUSE I COULDNT FIND SQUASH A WOMAN BY THE NAME OF PATTY WAS RUDE AND DIDN'T WANT TO HELP ME SHE KEPT READING A NEWSPAPERAND DIDN'T CARE. TERRIBLE SERVICE. POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS.NEVER WILL RETURN!!!!!!!!! more

We went to pick up some fresh fruit and vegetables and support a local business outside of the supermarkets (june 27,2009). Poor quality produce, period, we came home and started to put our purchases away and found, mis-marked potatoes.. labeled yukon gold, they were just plain white potatoes, and most of the potatoes were damaged and need to be peeled and eaten shortly (in a day or 2).. the corn was withered and again, not the type listed in the bin. Apples, peppers etc, all the same condition. Someone working there was smoking a cigarette inside around customers and over the produce as he was putting it in the bins. It was a Saturday, and the cashier wished us a happy Tuesday!. Won't return. Pros: not sure Cons: too many to list honestly more

Look it is a farmers market!! Hello, it is not the new Publix in Hyde Park where you pay $10.00 for a head of lettus! I think that it is great that we have this for people that can't afford the high pricing of Publics and tastless veggies from Sweetbay! As far as how clean it is, well go North to any state and go to a Farmers market and see if it has pretty floors and a tiled bathroom awaiting your presence! PLEASE! If you do not like it then don't go but don't down it because it is not pretty!\r Peace! more

Are you kidding about this place? The prices are cheap because they get the cheapest (not the best) products they can buy. I know. I worked there. Do yourself and family a favor and go somewhere reputable. The owners have questionable backgrounds. Any wonder why you can't usually find them around????
