GTM is very expensive and I was unfortunately stuck paying for six-months of service when I only needed two. But they did file my forms properly and timely, as far as I know! more

I've been using GTM since this past August and I've been very satisfied with them. Both my sales rep Karen and the customer service reps I've dealt with, Chrystal and Lushawn, have been extremely responsive and have had everything set up on time. Their statements are timely and easy to read, and my nanny has appreciated having direct deposit and private access to all her payroll information. GTM's nanny tax calculator was also extremely helpful when I was hiring my nanny because it really helped us to understand the difference between my out of pocket costs and the nanny's take home pay (geez: who knew?). And when my first nanny dropped me after 5 weeks and I was struggling to find a new nanny in short order, GTM was great about putting a hold on my services and getting me back up and running with my new nanny. more

We have been using GTM since 2008 and have had a wonderful experience! I handle 4 different household employers, some with multiple employees. GTM has made my life easier and I feel confident that taxes are being withheld and paid on time as well as forms being timely filed. Sure, when we first signed on (mid-year) there were some items that fell through the cracks, but they were handled quickly and positively. I have been using GTM since July 2005 and they have made a complicated process easy. The state of Virginia will periodically send me a note saying I need to pay a little more employee tax, so I simply call or fax them my note from the state and they handle it. Plus, they prepare my nanny taxes so that it can be incorporated into my personal taxes with my accountant. Very seamless operation. Bottomline, all of us with household employees need to feel confident that the valuable person that takes care of our children is being paid appropriately AND the employer is fulfilling all state and federal laws for household employees. I sleep well at night knowing GTM has this covered all for a modest expense. I recommend GTM to all of my friends and family members who have household employees. more

GTM Payroll Service is a wonderful, convenient, and customer-service oriented payroll service. We have used GTM since 2006 to process the payroll for our nanny. They offer an easy-to-use web service and you can easily make payroll changes, etc online, but I am always on the run, so I call in most of my changes. I am always routed quickly to someone who can help me and who can answer my questions (my customer service rep,Amanda, is extremely friendly and knows me by name!). We recently added another employee and it was very simple to get her set up and receive her payment soon after she started working for us. I also really like not having to worry about calculating taxes for our employees because GTM takes care of everything. I would highly recommend this professional service for all your payroll needs! more

We signed on with GTM to pay our Nanny in mid2009. Every quarter we received mail from the OR dept of revenue stating that the taxes had not been paid. Each time, we need to follow up with GTM who would only respond in a couple weeks stating that they are taking care of things. Not once has GTM sent us statements as to what was paid or not and when. Currently it is May 2010 ... OR dept of revenue has issued a warrant for unpaid taxes for Q4 2009 - even though GTM has withdraw the money from our account. This has been an escalation from multiple warnings from OR dept of revenue - each of which has been forwarded to GTM. Each time GTM has stated that they will take care of things. Do not use GTM for payroll services. They appear understaffed and possibly incompetent. There are plenty of other better services out there. Currently we are handling the paperwork ourselves. I have been using GTM Payroll Service since 2001 and would not consider switching. I have dealt with the other two very large payroll companies and found them to be very impersonal and fairly expensive. In the roughly nine years I've been dealing with GTM I have only had two employees manage my payroll and quarterly tax reporting. I highly recommend GTM. Pros: Excellent, very helpful employees more

I signed up for GTM at the recommendation of a friend who used the company to process her family's babysitter's payments and taxes and am SO very glad that I did. Peggy Byrnes, the tax specialist with whom I work, is lovely, smart, funny, knowledgeable, and responsive. Keeping up with the many, many ever-changing requirements of the tax code concerning nanny payments is a full-time job and I am grateful every day that I have delegated this job to Peggy. Now, if I ever get a notice from a tax department, I always know I can email Peggy the notice and say ""Peggy, am I right that we already paid this and you can just make this notice go away?"" And GTM has always ensured that we did already pay for the item in question and Peggy does always contact the tax department and let them know. She and GTM are the greatest. I switched to GTM this past year and I love them. I really try to business with local companies because in the past I have gotten lost in the shuffle of larger companies. Katy is my contact at GTM, she answers her phone..is always helpful..happy..courteous ..no matter if I have forgotten someone on my payroll, made a mistake with hours ..etc..she takes care of it in a minute and doesn't make me feel as if I am bothering her. If I want to modify a report she does it in a flash and even suggests other helpful ideas or gives me a shortcut. I was introduced to GTM by a friend of mine who was using them. I was with another payroll company at the time and was not too pleased with the service I was receiving. So, I called and spoke with a representative from GTM. She was very knowledgeable & friendly and made me feel comfortable about the decision to switch to GTM. I am so glad I did! The transition was easy and painless, they walked me through everything AND I saved money! My point of contact is great and knows me when I call. My payroll is on time and my taxes are paid. I have several businesses in the capital district as well as around the country. I am a former user of Paychex and ADP and I could not be happier that I made the move to GTM. They are big enough to handle everything I needed without a problem, but local and gave me a more customized feel to approaching my payroll needs. I have had no issues with paperwork trouble of any kind. All of my filings have been prompt and accurate. I really have nothing but praise for them as they have definitely made my life easier. The pricing is way more competitive that the two companies i had mentioned earlier, and when I have an problem, I have my own contact to get in touch with. I don't need to wait for a random person on an operating dial, this makes me happy because I don't have time for that. Pros: fast responses, customized approach, good customer service. I signed up with this company in 2006 and my first year was fine, but at the end of 2007 it seems like the company fell apart. For starters, my agreement with the company was that they would email me every two weeks to ask my payroll needs and I would reply with my numbers. We had an agreed upon price for each check run. At the end of 2007 they charged me an additional $60 that I didn't have to pay the first year and when I asked they said that it was standard fees. I wasn't happy at this point but stayed with the company. After the first quarter of 2008, they stopped emailing me. I work full time and have a business on the side, so I didn't really think about it until the 3rd quarter, and in the fourth quarter I switched to a much better payroll service. Here is the kicker. After switching firms, I recieved a notice that my social securty was never filed for 2007 (the period I paid extra fees for), so i contacted the company and they re-transmitted my social security. Six months later I recieved a notice that the ""corrected"" data was filed under the wrong social security number, so I had to fill out paperwork to fix that. I thought I was done with them, but I just recieved notice that my quarterly payroll was never filed with the federal or state government for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2008. GTM not only saves me valuable time, but provides great peace of mind. GTM makes my very busy life much more manageable.
