Worked for Kris and Greg for a little bit and I have nothing bad to say about Greg. Greg was a good guy to work with and knew what he was doing; the only one that knew what he was doing. Kris is a total ass that thinks the world revolves around him but really would be nothing without Greg's talent. Kris would promise the world to his customers and then talk trash when they weren't around. He made his workers look bad by yelling at them that things weren't being done right when the customer is around but then would tell us to do things half ass when we were doing it right so we would get done faster. It was about doing things fast not about doing it right. If you see Kris doing something get Greg to do it or it will look like crap. On top of being a crappy boss Kris was also unfair when it came to paying. I never got a check on time and the one time I did I had to wait over a week for it to clear. Most of the workers are paid under the table anyways just like the other reviewer said. He is not your friend. He is a two faced ass looking to take your money and run.. well until he has to come back next year to fix whatever is breaking. Don't work for the guy and don't let him work on your house unless Greg is around. Nothing will get done right otherwise. Pros: Days when he's not there Cons: Everything more

I got a $15,000 quote from one contractor for a full finished bsmt. Then called G&K because Chris, the owner, had done brick paving work for me in the past & did a decent job. He told me he was licensed to do bsmts & would give me a good deal if I used him. I wanted to help out a polish fellow & his family & small biz owner, who in the winter months has less work & lives right in my community. He told me he would do the job better & for $13,500, this would include all materials. He began work Dec 2007 & said he would have it completed NLT my daughters Bday Jan. 20th. By Mar it still wasn't done & I had paid $14,000 plus spent over $700 for materials. Plus had given him $1000 worth of exercise equipment; Bought and/or made lunch for him & his workers who he pays under the table (& they were smoking in my home) & even gave them all fine liquor at xmas time. He called me his friend & told me he would do a better job than anyone else. As of July 3, 08, 7 mos later, my bsmt is still incomplete & he's not returning calls. He told us he didn't want to finish since his brick paving biz is in full swing. Most of the work was either done incorrectly, did not meet standard measurements, ie., wet bar, which he didn't complete, & lots of sloppy work, ie., shower stall that leaks, doors that don't shut, he even purposely saughtered off the sprinkler valve handle so the ceiling tile would fit, rather than properly turning it out of the way. The price was to include custom shelving in my storage area which he didn't do & 2 glass block windows, he only did one. When I pointed these things out to him, he said he would fix them, but instead made them worse rushing to get the job done. Finally he told us he wasn't going to finish the job. When we asked for some of our money back so we could hire someone else to finish it, he told us to get a quote, which we did. Now he's not returning our calls. We will be pursuing this matter in court. I do not recommend using Chris. more
