Best

The quality of the medical care is outstanding and I feel very secure knowing any problems will be detected and treated properly.

Worst

I have brought 5 pets here over more than a decade and here is what I can say with great confidence about Friendship Animal Hospital: Use this vet ONLY for 24hr emergency care if...

Love The Way Staff Treats Everybody 1/20/2011

I appreciate the kind and gently way all the staff treat my pet. more

Better Experience Here Than Other Local Vets 1/13/2011

Dr. McMurphy was a welcome change from previous rushed encounters at Friendship and much better than the experience I had with another local vet. more

Friendly 1/11/2011

It's upscale, parking is easy, and the people were friendly. They weren't rough with my cats or anything, and didn't make us pay for anything unnecessary. more

Kudos to Dr.Kuehn 1/6/2011

Dr. Kuehn has been very helpful, smart, and non-manipulative. more

high-quality vets 1/4/2011

it's convenient, and there are high-quality vets here. more

The wait has been reasonable and check out easy 12/29/2010

The wait has been reasonable and check out easy, none of the unpleasantness other reviewers have reported, I've never seen anything but reasonably efficient, polite service. I guess they do get slammed by emergency walk-ins at times, but that's to be expected at an emergency vet more

Very satisfied for over 7 years 11/29/2010

I?ve been satisfied using Friendship Hospital for Animals for about 7 years. The wait has been reasonable and check out easy, none of the unpleasantness other reviewers have reported, I?ve never seen anything but reasonably efficient polite service. I guess they do get slammed by emergency walk-ins at times, but that?s to be expected at an emergency vet, no? more

Very helpful! 11/24/2010

Friendship Hospital for Animals' staff were helpful, kind and understanding. They called me at home to give me regular updates on my pet's progress. more

Great place! 11/17/2010

I was putting off writing this review because I recently lost my cat, and it was sad to remember. However, it's important to tell everyone out there how great this vet has been to me and my family over 15 years, and especially over the past three or four. Friendship Hospital for Animals has been very helpful, smart, and non-manipulative. You can tell this vet is run smoothly. Yes, the prices are high. But it's convenient, and there are high-quality vets here. more

Nothing but good things to say! 11/4/2010

This place is great! I have nothing but good things to say about Friendship Hospital for Animals! more

Very nice hospital! 10/26/2010

I went in today for an emergency visit with my dog. First of all the place was very clean and professional looking. It didn't even smell like animals, although there were quite a few dogs there when I arrived. In addition, even though I was a walk-in, I was seen almost immediately by a highly competent emergency vet (I think her name was Hannah). I have been to MANY vets who seemed to come up with every expensive test in the book to diagnose a problem. She was thorough, but I NEVER got the feeling she was trying to increase my bill by suggesting unnecessary tests. At the same time, she was professional and thorough. Finally, the staff members were also both very nice and professional. Seriously, I have no complaints about this place. I was also concerned about a really high bill, but they worked with me to keep it reasonable. So all in all, my experience was excellent. I will definitely be going back. One caveat---the Vet I saw was an emergency vet only, she does not do regular appointments. So although I liked her a lot, I am a little bummed about not being able to see her as a regular vet. I am also not sure how the other vets are. But based on my experience today, I feel comfortable going back again under more normal circumstances. more

Care is invaluable 9/29/2010

I've been bringing both my cats here for their regular checkups, and the service is always so thorough and compassionate. The FHA staff are genuine animal lovers and it shows. One of my cats has a chronic condition, and Dr. Jones consults with her specialist and calls me personally to follow up (just as Dr. Phillip did when my cat needed emergency care). FHA is great and I recommend them to all my friends with pets. Their prices are comparable to other DC vets and the availability of 24-hour emergency care is invaluable. more

I was amazed 9/28/2010

The first time I came here was shortly after I adopted my dog, who had developed a sinus infection. After stupid City Paws failed to catch it, she got worse, and I decided to take her to Friendship as emergency. I brought a variety of magazines and such to keep me occupied, as I figured I'd be spending a couple hours there. I barely touched them. I was in and out in 35 minutes! I was amazed. Dr. Covert was incredibly friendly and explained everything well. The staff was professional and courteous. more

A truly great experience with Friendship Hospital 9/23/2010

We also took in another stray pup for a short time over the holidays, and got her treated here before taking her home... They gave us a discount on her treatment because of the situation... and the treatment was appropriate and thorough. They do train newbies here, but the ones I've met were great. Also, the front desk staff is surprisingly attentive, letting you know they've seen you, and helping to carry dog food to the car. more

Kind and considerate 9/16/2010

I adopted an older dog, and one month after taking her in she began to get sick and I was referred to Friendship. I have read the other reviews, and really can't believe the experiences of others, because mine was the exact opposite. The very first night I took her there when I thought we were having an emergency, they told me she was stable, and to take her home and bring her back to her scheduled app the next morning because they didn't want to charge me unnecessary costs and didn't charge me anything. From that point forward for the next 4 weeks we tried multiple treatments because she wasn't getting better, she would start to get better and then get worse again - but the entire time they were supportive and helpful and every single person I interacted with was kind and considerate. more

Quick appointments 9/7/2010

I like that I'm able to get an appointment quickly and that when I have questions I can call to get valuable answers. more

The full experience has been positive. 9/3/2010

We followed a vet here from another animal hospital. Altho he has since left, we have used Friendship for almost a decade and been very pleased with it. We have gone through the full spectrum of experience - puppies, emergency care, elderly dogs, and death. The full experience has been positive. more
