I have brought 5 pets here over more than a decade and here is what I can say with great confidence about Friendship Animal Hospital: Use this vet ONLY for 24hr emergency care if...

meticulous in their care. 5/12/2011

Our animals have been patients at Friendship for about 33 years, beginning with a stray cat we found and continuing with 2 more cats and 4 dogs. Now, our 2 dogs are looked after by Dr. Cohen, who has been meticulous in their care. more

Excellent care 5/11/2011

During my cat's diagnosis, surgery, and aftercare, Doctors Khana and Carr were responsive, friendly, and very much available with information; I can say the same for the Friendship Hospital support staff. Received excellent care all around. Thank you to everyone at Friendship for all the hard work you do more

Amazing 5/10/2011

Dr. Bolch is amazing and has been incredible every time I have needed her help. The people at the desk or techs administering fluids have usually been wonderful as well. Finally prescriptions are easily and speedily refilled, which is really helpful. more

My pets have received excellent care, and I get follow up phone calls to make sure they're on track after anything bigger than a checkup. more

They're great 3/15/2011

They're great about answering questions over the phone if you're in doubt about going in, and I'm not urged to come in if I can take care of it at home. more

We did take our pup to an internist here 2/28/2011

We did take our pup to an internist here to take a closer look at her GI problems, and he did a great job of starting her treatment conservatively rather than jumping straight into surgeries and other more invasive treatments. more

I have nothing but positive things to say 2/24/2011

I adopted an older dog, and one month after taking her in she began to get sick and I was referred to Friendship. I have read the other reviews, and really can't believe the experiences of others, because mine was the exact opposite. The very first night I took her there when I thought we were having an emergency, they told me she was stable, and to take her home and bring her back to her scheduled app the next morning because they didn't want to charge me unnecessary costs and didn't charge me anything. From that point forward for the next 4 weeks we tried multiple treatments because she wasn't getting better, she would start to get better and then get worse again - but the entire time they were supportive and helpful and every single person I interacted with was kind and considerate. When the costs became too high, unknown to me, they nominated her for help from a memorial fund to help cover her costs which she was approved for. Ultimately we had to put her down, but even after 2 of the doctors/vet techs who had worked with her called to express condolences after they heard, and I received a card in the mail saying they made a donation in her name to the memorial fund and a very nice note from her primary vet and his assistant. I literally have a list of 10 people I plan to send individual notes of thanks to, and am so incredibly glad that she received her care there. Again, everyone seems to have different experiences, but having gotten to know so many of the people who worked there over the last 4 weeks, I have nothing but positive things to say about them. more

courteous and patient 2/18/2011

We put several dogs to sleep thru Friendship, and they are most courteous and patient - giving us plenty of time to morn. more

very clean and professional looking 2/16/2011

I went in today for an emergency visit with my dog. First of all the place was very clean and professional looking. It didn't even smell like animals, although there were quite a few dogs there when I arrived. In addition, even though I was a walk-in, I was seen almost immediately by a highly competent emergency vet (I think her name was Hannah). I have been to MANY vets who seemed to come up with every expensive test in the book to diagnose a problem. She was thorough, but I NEVER got the feeling she was trying to increase my bill by suggesting unnecessary tests. At the same time, she was professional and thorough. Finally, the staff members were also both very nice and professional. Seriously, I have no complaints about this place. I was also concerned about a really high bill, but they worked with me to keep it reasonable. So all in all, my experience was excellent. I will definitely be going back. One caveat---the Vet I saw was an emergency vet only, she does not do regular appointments. So although I liked her a lot, I am a little bummed about not being able to see her as a regular vet. I am also not sure how the other vets are. But based on my experience today, I feel comfortable going back again under more normal circumstances. more

Very Knowledgeable 2/7/2011

Took my chinchilla here on an emergency visit. We had accidentally pinched my chin's feet with a metal pull-out pan during cleaning. The vet we saw was very chinchilla-knowledgeable. Luckily, the wounds were just mainly superficial and were not broken legs (which require amputation usually). She was put on an antibiotic dip for her feet, a weak oral antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and a probiotic. For those in the Baltimore area with chinchillas, you should bookmark Falls Road Animal Hospital in case of emergencies! There's not many vets that understand proper care for chinchillas. more

I Recommend Friendship Hospital For Animals 2/3/2011

I'm now living in another state and even when my friends have possible emergencies with their pets, I recommend that they call Friendship Hospital more
