Any chef's cooking will suffer without quality ingredients. Thankfully, the quality of ingredients here is above reproach. From the fresh baked bread, to high quality of the balsamic vinegar, or the fresh asiago, every single item in these dishes superb. When these came together, every morsel was a delight to the senses. Using ingredients of this caliber is expensive, and you can easily appreciate the reasons for the higher price tag. This is by far the best Italian dining in Utah. I know great Italian food, and this is the only place in Utah I have been able to find it outside my own kitchen. Fresco Italian Cafe has the best atmosphere of any restaurant that I have ever been to. There are only about 20 tables in my estimation in the whole place. It looks like an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. The food was good, although I would have liked a slightly larger portion. This is one of the best date restaurants there is. I had not eaten at Fresco for a while but went last night. I honestly have to say it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Fresh tomato appetizer was delicious and the chicken entree was unbeliveable. Thats right, chicken! Fresco Italian Cafe has excellent service and the setting is so cozy and romantic, but the food...the food speaks for itself. With different butter spreads every night (such as chive and orange zest butter, which was absolutely satisfying) and amazing salads and appetizers and entree's to die for. Speaking as a local who lives around the corner from this 15th & 15th restaurant I am estatic there's a place in this day where one can still walk to a great establishment and have one of the best meals in the valley. Take a stab at any and all specials--these are continually the big winners whether it's chicken, pasta or a lamb dish. They're all wonderfully robust and full of intricate yet pleasant flavors. Arrive a little early and take a few minutes to roost in the King's English (directly attached up front) to work up your appetite. Great wine list too! Fresco is my favorite restaurant in the city for a romantic meal or a breezy alfresco dinner in the summertime. The dining room is intimate (some say cramped), but the feel is so cozy and warm--I still love it. The chefs consistently have been serving bold flavors and dynamic dishes for years.
