My car was thoroughly serviced and I was treated respectfully.

Worst

After spending almosr 2,000 dollars on both my vehicles I was told that on my 10% discount would only be a 50.00 which that is not what the coupon states

Alternator replacement 9/29/2016

This place is awesome highly recommend, car was fixed fast for a good price, $200 cheaper than the first place I took it to. more

engine replacement 9/25/2016

the mechanic manhandled two of the parts that he transferred between engines - a heater hose coupling, and the intake air hose - both of which I had to replace - which cost me several hundred dollars more

Shop is ran the way it should be. 9/15/2016

I brought my car to Franks for them to change the alternator. They were quick and professional, and while checking my alternator they found another issue and they brought it to my attention. I told them I did not have the money for the extra repair and they simply said that I should get it done sooner than later. They did not try to push me into more services like other shops and treated me like a customer and not a never ending bank account. The service was done in two hours and I was on my way. Franks will be getting my business in the future because of their customer service, other shops could learn from Franks about how to treat people right. more

Battery Replace 9/4/2016

Good service, BUT when the AAA Rep. arrive he did not have the correct battery for my GMC truck all this info. was pass to the 800 # rep. stating I wanted to buy two battery's, so he had to return the next day. more

Fast and efficient 8/17/2016

When my car started making a terrible sound on the way to work I was convinced it would either take the full week to repair or it was time for my car to kick the bucket. Frank's Automotive was recommended because they are AAA Preferred and I had my car back in a little over 24 hours! The price of the repair was reasonable and George was kind enough to explain everything for me so it made sense and didn't feel talked down too. I'm keeping all of their contact information for any other repairs or maintenance I need done. more

Satisfied overall. This was only an oil change, but they also took the time to explain that my car had a small leak and what it would take to get it fixed. Quote was also given. more

My wife had her battery die while shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall today. I called Franks and they sent over one of their wreckers (who arrived within 15 minutes!!) with a new battery (at my request). The technician jumped the car and even tried to talk my wife out of the new battery after checking to make sure the alternator was charging adequately. However, since she was so far from Austin and had some guests visiting from overseas with her... we opted to go ahead and get the new battery installed rather than risk further breakdowns while they were returning to Austin. My wife and I were both very pleased to have this breakdown dealt with so easily and the price was more than fair.\r \r Based on our experience with Frank's & Bigfoot Towing in this instance we feel good about recommending them to any other motorists finding themselves in need of roadside service in the San Marcos area. more

Totally Trustworthy 7/24/2016

Faultless diagnosis of our cars over 7 years and 4 cars. This visit I forgot to mention a headlight was out on the low beam setting. The tech had checked on his own, but on high beam only, so Bob, the super knowledge manager replaced it for free! more

This place is great! No nonsense car repair. I had a leaking exhaust manifold and therefore would not be able to make it to my usual shop in Austin. I had previously gone to Lester's auto shop, and they refused to even give me a quote. They said go to the dealership. Knowing enough about cars to know this wasn't true, I took it here to Franks. He did everything he said he would, and even resurfaced the manifold for the low quote of 200! It was good work and truck was out of shop in less than 24 hrs. Will go again. more

The Yellow Banana Nisaan Xterra 7/15/2016

I had a great experience at frank's automotive. I dealt wth george and he was very helpful and professional. My daugher goes to texas State and her car began to misfire on Frday night. We live in Austin so I drove out frst thing Saturday morning to attend to it. George was the first person to greet me. He found out that it was the distributor that needed to be replaced. He walked me through the whole process and I felt comfortable with him. Was very trust worthy. He drove my daghters car to be sure it was runningsmooth before he had her come get it. I will definately bring my daughter's car back to them if she has any car problems. i am glad we found a great reliable place now in San Marcos for car issues. Thank you! I will refer you to others! more

Great place for Auto Repair. My daughter attends Texas State and is about 600 miles away from home. When we first took her Mountaineer (which had 150,000 miles) we searched for a great automotive repair shop. We found Frank's and it has been so comforting knowing I can count on them for repairs and oil changes. They even give 10% off to students and are AAA certified. \r \r Well my daughter's engine light came on and now she has about 170,000 miles on it. She took it in this morning and they said it was going to be $85.00 for a diagnostic check. They checked it and determined it was under warranty on some repairs they did this year. It didn't cost us anything - George thanks for being honest and taking care of my daughters car. Great place - I will definitely continue to take her SUV to Frank's. more

Good Service but a bit pricey 6/30/2016

I went to Franks Auto to get a new battery and surprised to be charge a service charge of almost $50 to replace my battery. You unhook it, you take it out, and you put the new one in. Not really a $50 job. more

Prompt, Friendly, Excellent Service 6/30/2016

As always, we love Frank's. Bob, our service coordinator, is wonderful. I understand the service that is to be provided and he let's us know if there are changes to the anticipated service. At our most recent visit, the AC was a mess, and you could now freeze meat in the car. An added bonus, the price for the service was less than the estimate. It was a good day. more

I really trust this place for all my car's needs. There were a few times I went somewhere else and they quoted a large estimate and wanted to replace unnecessary items. George is real friendly and gets straight to the point; he breaks down what you need visually and shows you everything they plan to do.
