It was time for us to buy a house, as we decided we had enough with renting. We sat down with an agent from 4 Star and he really listened and showed us only homes that fit. Every one of them seemed great in their own way so it was a tough choice. We had help all the way through closing and we love our new home. We are grateful to all involved who helped get us here. more

Beware!\r We couldn't see the place we wanted because they were ""remodeling."" They showed us a place that was about 1.5 times the size of ours and told us it would be the same size. They also claimed our place would have a dishwasher. We show up to move in and guess what, it's a crawl space with no dishwasher, which is good because a dishwasher would take up the entire place. When we called to complain about being cheated like this, their response was ""we have your deposit."" So helpful. \r Also, the website claims rent is low, but when you're in the process of signing the lease they spring about $70 a month of fees on you right then. \r Also, the ""Brand new remodeling"" included broken heaters, which the maintenance crew took literally four trips to our place to fix. Every trip involved them waking us up at 8 AM, they left screws and debris all over our floors, and in the end never actually even fixed the heaters, we were just so fed up with them that we stopped calling and use space heaters to this day. They then yelled at us for this ineptitude.\r Also, they had a construction crew doing work on the building for two weeks without even telling us, and then left giant chunks of concrete on our doorstep. \r Anytime we want to get a hold of our contact, it takes days to get a response to email and our calls are almost always ignored to voicemail.\r I'm literally shocked by how many positive reviews are on this place. That is not at all the fourstar I am familiar with. Stay away from them!\r more

My partner and I are owners of a large amount of student housing properties. Four Star has reliably kept watch over them and making sure things run smoothly and we get paid monthly. We trust them to handle regular maintenance, and larger repairs are always run by us first with several bids every time. We don't have to deal with the tenants either. Their book keeping methods are also very easy to understand and follow. Thanks to Four Star, these properties are the the strongest investments we have in our portfolio. more

Four Star has a great maintenance department. They manage a property for me and I wanted to remodel it, and they were such a huge help throughout the entire process. They helped me choose the best option out of three bids, and kept an eye on the workers to make sure we got exactly what we were paying for. The house looks amazing and the improvements allowed us to increase the rent! more

Mysterious charges will show up from months ago on your bill and you will have no idea what they are from. If you have one piece of trash that is not in the trash can on your property, they will send people out to pick it up and charge you about $50. They overcharge for utilities and won' show you a copy from xcel energy. They do not cooperate with you. And they take advantage of our naivety. Basically they are the Satan's incarnate. Do not, I repeat.. DO NOT FOR ANY REASON SIGN WITH THEM.. or else you will be sorely disappointed Pros: nothing. not one damn thing. Cons: everything. They will charge you for anything they can. more

After receiving a fraction of security deposit, Fourstar has hounded us ever since, asking us to pay this and that. We currently owe $250, with no explanation of what exactly the fees are for. If we don't pay, they threaten to send collectors after us. These guys are as crooked as they come- DO NOT rent from these jerks! They completely suck. First off, let me say that Four Star doesn't even deserve 1 star. I was forced to at least give it that. I lived in a house on The Hill in Boulder for 2 years. We moved in, notified them of some maintenance that needed to be done, nothing ever happened. After about 6 months they came out and started working on our front porch light, then the maintenance guys said they would be back the next day. Never came back. Sweet. Pros: umm......... I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with the other reviews. My Roommates and i have had over $10,000 dollars practically stolen from us by FOUR STAR REALITY from absurd charges and refusal to give any security deposit back. This company has been the most unpleasant investment ever and I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOUR STAR TO ANYBODY. Amanda Gresiak was our property manager and REFUSED to talk to us and set up appointments and would pretend that she did not recieve our messages and calls. All of my friends who have used Four Star agree with me. I have never met anyone who enjoyed Four Star's services. If i had the time or money i would take them to court because of suspicions of illegal practices. Cons: Everything more

I am 32 years old and moved to Boulder not knowing anyone, hence no company recommendations! After nine months of living in an OVER PRICED Four Star Realty listing, I was charged $1,581.61. That was in August 2007. It is now March 2008, and we still have not settled our disagreement. There was no damage done to the property. In fact, it was in better shape when I moved in. They have lied, stood me up on appointments, and refused to do a final walk though and meet with myself and my attorney when I realized they were going to try and take advantage of me. Unfortunately they are used to wealthy college kids whose parents just pay the bill without question. I, however, am and ""old"" college kid who values money and is on a strict budget. Please do not engage in any sort of business transaction with these unethical individuals. Cons: They will take advantage of you any way possible. And below, where contracts were easy to understand, they are, but they do not hold up to them. more
