Folsom Gulch Bookstore
Last weekend was the Grand Opening of Folsom Gulch's Video Lounge
located in its Basement. It was open for two nights Friday and Saturday as
well as Sunday afternoon.. As a long time customer of the Folsom Gulch
video arcade area, I felt it was my duty to prevent this potencial tragedy
(death trap) to happen. For that reason and that reason alone I contacted the
Fire Prevention Section of The San Francisco Fire Department 698 - 2nd
Street San Francisco, CA 94107. I requested them to inspect the basement
about my safety concerns. I found out that I was not the only person to have
these concerns. While I only contacted the Fire Prevention Department,
others contacted the San Francisco Building Department about there concerns
as well thus filing complaints with that City Department also. Again my
concerns were and are, theres only one narrow staircase to access this
basement Video Lounge area. The access to this area does not meet Fire or
Safety codes. It’s not a legal exit. To meet just the Emergency Egress
Codes their would have to be at least two EXITS (staircases) one in front of
this area and one in the back with approved fire doors. Putting up Signs
wouldn't stop this death trap from happen. Business Owners need to practice
Safe Sex Too. Thanks to The Fire and Building Department for your prompt
actions.

Folsom Gulch " the basement is not a cool space ....." Don't be folled the basement is that for a reason. It can be accessed only through two doors then down a narrow stair case , There is no other fire exit, except for this staircase. No ventilation, No Fire exit signs, A death trap wateing to happen. The foundation on Folsom Street is falling in to the basement from the last large earthquake. It must be that the owners of the Folsom Gulch are trying to open a illegal area, this can not happen. The other owners of sex clubs have a bad apple in there barrel. The foolish greed of The Folsom Gulch Owners could easyly become the rotton apple to spoil the whole Sex club seene (barrel)
Pros: Great video arcade on main floor. Fun place to get off.
Cons: The Folsom Gulches basement if it opens will be a death trap
