I am a construction worker in lampasas for the last two months. I have been eating everywhere because i am in a hotel for the time being. Out of my last ten places that I have eaten at I agree that this is a 2 on a scale of ten. not affortable and not quick enough for my 30 min lunch. my wife wrote a review right here about a few months ago and i am sad to say that i agree. to get to the point about the last two reviews sent Aug 1 and Aug 3 are bogus. this surely sounds like an inside job. There have been many flyers floating through town about the flying goose like a bad case of the clap. Many have been sent to other businesses and individuals themselves. Dont try this place because I think it is run by con artist and lying crooks. Mark my words in a year and a half this place will be no more. just like it is right now. Pros: they sure fooled me. Cons: they cover up and lie. flying goose might go to hell for there sins of overpricing!!!!!!! more

i'll admit i didnt like the place when it first opened i was so excited to see a new restaurant open and they were so hectic and the service was bad. we decided to go back a few months later and decided we were now loyals to the "GOOSE" we love the place now. the food is great the service is better and better each time. and the homemade bread the owner is making now is so good i asked for te recipe and she actually gave it to me. when our family came in from detroit we told them we were taking them out to our favorite place and they too enjoyed it all and could not believe the prices they offered for the meals they served. for anyone to say that there is not enough food must be major food eating competitors or something...lol.. we tell everyone to go to the flying goose because we love it so should others... I have owned restaurants and since moving to Lampasas, my husband and I truly enjoy coming to the Flying Goose Restaurant. The cooks do an excellent job of food presentation. Must try the Chicken Fried Chicken and the next time we are in, we plan on ordering the Alfredo dinner. "The Alfredo sauce is homemade and to die for!" The wait staff go above what is expected, are friendly and makes for a truly wonderful dining experience. Don't forget to order a Margarita. Pros: Food serving portions are large Cons: When busy, could use more wait staff more

why does this establishment stay open? I havent a clue. they have closed the doors during the week for lunch and that is just downright lazy. I guess and I hope they are training people to cook or be better servers. I really think that this is just the first step of shutting the doors for good. I have ate at the flying goose many times and I realize that the food and service has done a 180, in the wrong direction. Many of times I have had FRESH seafood and this is not the place. Only if they considered thawed from the frezzer being fresh. This so called steakhouse does not even have a sirloin steak. What is going on here. This resturant I do not recommend to many of my peers. Pros: It is in the town that I live in Cons: no sirloin and not even being close to being fresh seafood more

my name is keith and i have lived in the lampasas area now for 22 yrs. the flying goose steakhouse for one had lazy service and there were only about five tables on a tues. evening. Many of the food items were overpriced compared to what the customers were recieving. I am a drinker but the bar area was so loud that i could not even have a conversation with my wife. Even the bartender was loud. I have met the owner once or twice and if he wants to get things done he should be there at all times or just close the doors. the place seemed to me dingy and dirty. Even my silverware had spots on it. The meal I paid for was a simple hamburger (which I could not eat boring and bland) my wife recieved the surf and turf (which was decent but the steak was overcooked). I never write reviews but if this place would like to survive they should take all of this in. I will not go back until I hear that there are major improvements. this is the worst place probably in the whole state of texas. I have been eating alot on the road and this place takes the whole kitten kaboodle. I guess it was the chicken because I felt very ill afterwards. I am warning you dont eat just drink. Pros: dont pay if your food sux Cons: hmmmm everything more

this was a good place if i was a smoker but im not. the first time i went to eat here was in the summer of 07 the place was very interesting. there were lots of neat items on the walls, like airplane stuff and many cooking trophies, i dont see how they recieved those trophies with the food that they were putting out. my steak had to be sent back because it was just to rare and the waitress was slow to refill my glass of tea. i think i was in this place about an hour and a half. my husband realized that the awards everywhere were for bbq and there was nothing in the menu about bbq. my sons catfish was excellent but how can you screw up on that. me and my husband went back around christmas time and it seems that the place is going down hill. i think that i will not return, thats my 2 cents Pros: nice place inside Cons: slow service, the staff being loud and joking around including the manager. no disipline more

I had a bad expierence i guess. I will probably never try it again unless there were new owners. Seems like the flying goose steakhouse is trying just to make it by. they dont have heart when it comes to their food and maybe their customers. My advice is avoid this steakhouse in Lampasas and try Gs steakhouse it is much better. A lot better and cleaner atmosphere. Pros: parking was nice Cons: smoke, service, atmosphere more
