The owers of Florio's Pizza are from Paramus, NJ, which is a few miles from NYC. The decor, the smells leave you longing for home if from that area. Easily the best Pizza in town. For a treat..order the LODI pizza...aaahhhhhh...Garlic... more

I love going to florio's pizza, every time we go we have so much fun. The service is refreshing and even though to some people they may seem rude i think it is part of its charm. When ever i am having a bad day i can go and know i am going to feel better because they always make me laugh. They also have the best pizza and cake i have ever tasted in san antonio. more

Great pizza & sandwiches! 2/1/2006

My favorite item on the menu has to be the Italian sub....it is hands down the best in San Antonio! Of course the pizza is great. As for the service, it is great! They really know their customers & their regular orders! Keep up the good work guys! Pros: Great Sandwiches more

horrible customer service 1/13/2006

it's a shame, such good pizza but very unprofessional on the phone. called and asked what time they closed and response was ""when we run out of pizza"", asked if maybe in an hour(the time was 8:10 on a fri. night) and response was ""we could close in 30 min. or in 1 hour"". just wanted a specific time as to when they closed. authentic new york pizza, and authentic new york attitude. more

Best NY Style Pizza 12/22/2005

I am from the New York Area and I come down to San Antonio quite often for business. I have been shocked by the lack of good pizza here. Everything I tried tasted processed or like it was frozen and put in the nearest toaster oven to heat. Florio's was exactly the same pizza that I am used to at home and just one of the things New York is known for. I would highly recommend Florio's to anyone who wants a fresh New York Style pizza. Florio's 11/18/2005

I moved over to San Antonio from New Jersey and I was delighted to see that Florio's serves New York style pizza here. The family-run business has a personal touch, with displays of nick-nacks from New York scattered throughout the resteraunt. The Pizza is priced very reasonably (expect $6 - $8 a head). Great Food. A FAMILY TRADITION 6/20/2005

My boyfriend is from NYC and when we started dating I found out that almost every Friday is dinner at Florio's. The family has been going there for about the past three years. The owners have come to know my boyfriends family as if they were part of their family. Every time i join the family for dinner at Florio's i feel as if i have gained a few additional family members. The staff is warm and welcoming, the food is delicious I have began to have cravings for the food. Although the restuarant is a bit small it is well worth the wait and the prices are fantastic. New Jersey pizza in Texas 6/7/2005

First of all the people who run Florios are from Paramus, New Jersey, not NYC. I grew up in New Jersey eating at Pizza Shops like this. After being stationed in San Antonio one of the things I missed the most was the pizza shops. Then a friend told me about Florios. This place keeps me from getting homesick with their great pizza. If all you've eaten your whole life is Pizza Hut and Little Ceasers please come try this place and see what real pizza is! Pros: great food more

A slice of heaven 7/8/2004

I have been enjoying Florio's pizza since I moved to the neighborhood 3 years ago. I usually have it delivered and it always comes promptly, delivered by a charming gentleman who is smiling and polite. The pie itself is almost beyond description -- the crust is tender but crisp, and the spices in the sauce are just right. The meatball topping is making me salivate right now. The service at the restaurant is prompt and efficient. I don't feel the need to make friends and be flattered by everyone I meet, so I guess the perception of brusqueness is individual. Frankly, I wouldn't care if they smacked my face after I order, as long as they bring me my food. yummm Pros: food, food, food more

Great Pizza and Great service 3/13/2004

Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about, I took my family to Florios for lunch and they could'nt have been a nicer bunch of people. Easily the best pizza we've had since coming to SA 2 years ago. We had both the traditional thin and the thicker sicilian. Both pizzas were fantastic, though the sicilian could have used a bit more sauce. We also had the antipasto salad, thought that was a bit over priced for the portion. I'll definetly be going back. Not Impressed 2/17/2004

We decided to give this little NY pizza place a try last night and all in all it was just OK. The pizza was fair to good. In my opinion the person that takes your order is rather rude and just plain unfriendly to new customers. Will I be back? Maybe in 6-12 months. I have no idea why this restaurant is rated so high, but then look at the review dates after the one bad review. more

One of the top 5 pizzas in SA 7/25/2003

The pizza is fantastic. Thin, home made crust, succulent sauce, and just enough cheese to balance it all. The lunch special is hard to beat - 2 slices of pie, a drink, tax and tip for $4.00. Add .35 per slice for a topping. These folks from NYC know how to do pizza. Pros: Lunch special, pizza more

I have eaten a lot of pizza all over the world and Florio's has the best pizza I've ever eaten. I love the New York atmosphere and the friendly service you get from the family owned business.
