5 STAR Service and food. Lady at counter ( the Owner ) is awesome, made me feel like I was in Boston again. If you are thin skinned, insecure or just a wimp go to dominoes. If you like to have a good laugh and enjoy authentic pie this is the place. more

Great Pizza, Rude Service 5/8/2012

This is the best NY style pizza around. Comes with the rudest service by the owner of restaurant. It's good and she knows it's good. Reminded me of ""The soup Nazi"" episode on Seinfeld. Make sure you order within 5 seconds or she will let you know her frustration with you. You won't be disappointed in the pizza though. more

Florio's by far, hands down- BEST Pizza in San Antonio 2/7/2012

So I am a Brooklyn, NY native. I know what NY pizza - not the fancy pretend NY pizza is supposed to look like and supposed to taste like - and this IS IT! I'm talking thin foldable crust and melt in your mouth goodness. That's Florio's! The reviews about attitude are ridiculous, and if are true, just adds to the experience. Put on your big girl panties and just eat! Someone says they dread walking up to the counter. That is hilarious and sad. The lady behind the counter is fine. You know you have morning people, you have night people, you have peppy people, you have dry serious people. We are all different. Appreciate it! My husband is a native Texan. He will also tell you its the best pizza he's ever had and he is not bothered by any so-called gruffness. Who knows? Maybe he's been married to me too long. Actually he says she's always been very pleasant to him. My all time favorite - Cheese pizza. His favorite - Sausage & Pepperoni. Go to Florio's - Enjoy the food - Enjoy the experience!! more

Pizza is great! Woman at register...not so great. 10/8/2011

I really enjoy the pizza here! It's not only delicious, it's cheap. The only thing i don't appreciate is the lady, Pat, up at the register. When she is talking she doesn't stop to greet a new customer, she simply stares, after a min. or two of finishing her conversation, and says ""Whaddya want?"" She is impatient and rude and everyone in my family and some people here i noticed, don't seem to like her either. I just started going back...but i always dread walking up to that counter. more

Best pizza this side of NYC! 8/3/2011

we are there on a regular basis for the amazing pizza, and what may be their best kept secret, spumoni. Now understand, I am Irish, married to an Italian...yikes! I have never liked spumoni...it always had weird stuff in it, and the name sounded like a medical condition....anyway, I tried theirs, and was instantly hooked!!! Now it's pizza and spumoni...might sound odd till you try it...really a treat! The absolute best food, all family recipes! I can't imagine the people who say they're not friendly...what's the problem, can't you take a joke? Pat (at the front) is the bomb! more

What Fantastic Pizza -- And A Great Family! 3/25/2011

What's wrong with those of you who don't like the lady at the cash register? She's great -- and funny, and she'll remember you the next time you come in to eat. She, and her mother who sits at the little table by the door, her father, and her brother really make Florio's the warm, personal, and very friendly family pizza place that it is. And the pizza is, without question, the best we've had anywhere in San Antonio. And everyone we take there agrees. So, those of you who for whatever reason feel like you need to complain about Florios, you can just go to Pizza Hut\r more

Hot Spot 3/17/2011

The food and the service are great. Florio's is a very busy restaurant for a reason. If you like the food, go back. If you were unhappy with anything, don't go back. I can go into Florio's at any given time and have no problems with the customer service. I was friendly toward the staff upon my first visit and they returned the favor. There's no need to be so negative. We're all adults. It's easy enough to just say you will not go back. As for me, Florio's is the hot spot, love the food and enjoy the company of Florio's staff. more

Best Family Run Pizzaria 1/24/2011

I love the NY family charm of this place! Plus the food is not bad either! There is a reason why this place is ALWAYS busy. Those who love great pizza are always here! more

If you think the pizza's good - try the ""Hero"" 9/17/2010

This is one of the best I've found in San Antonio. We moved from Rochester New York 10 years and struggled to find good Pizza. The family makes great NY style pizza and the Cold Cut Hero is better than anything I've found (including in NY).\r \r more

Grow Up People and Grow Some!!! 7/17/2010

I have read from the people that they are so rude...and blah..blah...blah...well I am sorry they are not there to wipe your butt period!! This is the BEST pizza and I go to no other place...I am from New York...this is how pizza is supposed to taste like. So drop your ego and grow some because Patty and crew don't have time for people that get offended easily or feel that they need to cater to their every need...I just think...NEXT and move your winey butt somewhere else because I have Pizza to eat YUM!!! Pros: Phenomenal Pizza - The Real Deal Cons: Not For Cry Babys!! more

WORST!!! 5/14/2010

Never going back!!! Got a gift certificate so we tried to get take out, the conversation ended with curse words. Gave them another chance and ate there, pizza was greasy and salty. Because they are in the neighborhood, we went again (against instincts.) The staff was so rude. Just because you are from NY doesn't give you the right to be awful to people!!!! You have been in Texas long enough to learn manners and customer service. Cons: Bad Service, mediocre pizza, weird hours more

Rude Service tainted the pie 2/20/2010

Probably the best pizza I have had in Texas since I moved from N.Y. over 20 years ago. The taste however, was over shadowed by the extremely rude phone service. I had never ordered from the restaurant before and the woman who took the order was less than helpful. All New Yorkers are NOT rude. Customer service is all part of the experience. It's a shame, I live less than a mile from this restaurant, but I will not be back. more

This is the real deal! 2/19/2010

Being from the east coast myself I have been searching for some real NY / NJ style pizza for years and finally found it at Florio's. I've tried Big Lou's and others, sorry but they don't even come close to East Coast taste and style like Florio's. Concerning the NY / NJ attitude, it's the way of life! If you can't deal with the attitude just order the pie to go and enjoy at home. Pros: Authentic East Coast Pizza Cons: NONE! more

Great Pizza! Great Service! 1/14/2010

I love everything about Florio's. The pizza's are fresh and wonderful, not too much sauce not overly cheesy and a crispy crust. \r \r If you're looking for the real thing... this is it. Don't ask for ranch dressing, pineapple, or macaroni on your pie.. it's not that kind of pizzeria. \r \r Regarding the remarks about the so called ""grumpy lady"" at the register... like anywhere else in life...be nice and people will be nice to you. The entire family and crew at Florio's is the best. \r \r The service and food has always been great and I don't expect that to change. Pros: buy the pie or buy the slice Cons: they're clear across town!! more

Great Pizza! 10/18/2009

This place had the best pizza! The cashier lady up front is very RUDE! This isn't a very ""kid friendly"" environment. They have absolutely NO high chairs in the restaurant. Pros: Great Pizza Cons: Poor Service, Not Kid Friendly more

BEST PIZZA 9/19/2009

I have been reading the reviews for this fabulous eatery! They absolutely have the BEST pizza in town, quite possibly in the state, and they serve it up with some great NJ attitude! If you can't handle the sharp wit and the quickeness in which it is served, go somewhere else. Wait no don't go somewhere else..the rest of us need a good laugh! Pros: Its all good! more

Pizza with spice 9/9/2009

Being from NY this place is a lot like the standard NY/NJ pizza joint. The food is great. The salads are weak (just like in NY/NJ). If you sit at the counter you'll even hear a little of the NY/NJ attitude. Watch long enough and it becomes obvious that all insults and sharp remarks are sent out with love. It is just a cutural way of communicating. If you don't like it just take the great pizza and eat it at home! YUM! Pros: great food, great fun Cons: salads are weak more

Good Food, Awful Service 5/27/2009

As you read in the tons of review on here, whoever the lady is at the register is about as cantankerous as one could expect out of any human being. God help you if you are looking the menu over and she's ready to take your order. Not to mention they require a $10 minimum purchase to use a credit card, which goes against the ToS with VISA. And it's not like it's a cute or whitty kind of joking around. The lady is genuinely mean and unappealing to be around at all. What makes it worse is, the other people tend to be some what nice, but the queen of pain up front keeps all of the client communications to herself, which obviously she shouldn't be doing. The food is okay...it's greasy, and while I know some pizza is supposed to be, I usually let it drain before I eat it. Not to mention they have the drinks setup so they refill them for you, and sometimes you have to wait like 2-3 mins. just to refill your drink (and the glasses they provide are laughably small). Flat out, if they were nicer, a bit more prompt about service and didn't impose their silly, technically unallowable minimum perchase amount, the place would be fantastic. For the price, the food is good (but again, is sometimes greasier than others). For now, I've stopped going here primarily thanks to Miss Grumpy Pants, and secondly due to the CC minimum amount silliness. There are plenty of better places to eat around San Antonio. Pros: Food is good to decent Cons: Service is awful, food can be greasy more

Best Pizza in San Antonio, hands down! 5/23/2009

This pizza is fantastic and best if eaten right out of the oven. The cheese is tasty, the sauce is homemade, the toppings have fantastic flavor and they are unique. The Cold Italian sub is to die for......I don't know what they put on it and in it exactly but the flavor will bring you to your knees and make you come back over and over again. And if you get to know the family you will absolutely adore them....! But don't try to get the recipe from them, they ain't given it up! Love you guys at Florios ..... don't ever close down! Tonya, Kathy, Bo and Evonne......WE LOVE YOU GUYS.....! Pros: Taste of pizza, price of pizza and those Cold Italian Subs! Cons: Long drive from my house! more

From Jersey what do you expect? 4/3/2009

awesome pizza for those who know... my boyfriend is from up that way and says it's the only place he wants when he wants pizza... that ""mean old lady"" only has an attitude when you take your time ordering, ask stupid questions or request a fork lol other than that she can be her version of courteous .... this is a must if pizza hut just doesn't cut it Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more
