oh my god this place and food amazing highly recommend

Worst

Not the best Indian food I've had - Jaipur is much, much better. Flavor of India needs to step it up or else get out of the kitchen.

Quite simply the best Indian food in LA 5/1/2005

As an Indian food-loving Englishman in LA, I have sampled many Indian restaurants in the LA area. In my opinion, and those of all my close friends here in LA, the Flavour of India is by far the best. The food has a much greater subtlety than is typical of the more 'curry' based restaurants. The flavours are both imaginative and delicious. Their Bhel Puri is the most aromatic appetizer imaginable. Strongly spicy Chana Phindi, perfectly cooked Paneer and the slightly sweet Malai Kofta will satisfy vegetarians, whilst their Tandoori dishes, particularly the shrimp, are presented sizzling and sumptious. As a real fan of Flavour of India's unique approach to Indian Cuisine, it has been a delight to see how they have built up such a strong following of regulars like me who eat there at least once a week. more

Nice restaurant, average mediocre food. 10/16/2004

My girlfriend and I always wanted to come here and we finally did on Saturday (10/16/04). The owners were very nice and courteous. But the food was just a little bit below average, it could of been just a little bit better. It's different, the curry's got some sweet taste to, it's really not bad, but just below average expectations for the money spent. The decor was nice and its got this real Indian restaurant atmosphere feel to it. An overall great dining experience, again, the below average ratings are only for the food. reliably yummy 2/25/2003

I eat here at least once a week and have never had a bad meal here. The Chicken Tikka Marsala is the best. All their curry sauces are made from scratch are are not gloopy or dripping with ghee. The curry of the day is usually magnificent. All the vegetable entrees are good too, particularly the Malai Kofta, which is always a ""special"". Great food and atmosphere 1/24/2003

Most Indian places seems to have indifferent service at best. At Flavor of India they seem to actually care that you are having a good time. Ask about some of the dishes you are having and there's a good chance the chef will come out and enthusiastically answer your questions. Food is great, the semi-outdoor setting is nice. The menu is nice, with great vegetarian dishes. Maybe their lunch isn't good (I haven't tried), but dinner has been great everytime we have gone. more

Tasty food and Romantic Ambience 7/1/2002

This restaurant has displaced Nawab as my favorite Indian restaurant in L.A. The food is fantastic and the ambience is excellent, great for a romantic night out for two. The staff is very attentive and friendly, cannot recommend it strongly enough if you like good Indian food. Pros: Great Food, Attentive Service Cons: Valet only parking more
