worst venue ever 3/22/2009

This is by far the worst place to see a show in minneapolis. They amazingly get very good artsist and performers at this venue but youd never know how good the show was by going there. You are not able to see the stage there unless you are nine feet tall no matter where you stand. There are some rare viewable places but the extremely rude staff who is not afraid to yell or push you for that matter makes sure you know you cannot stand in those spots. Understandibly they need to get through certain areas but maybe they shouldnt over sell the show so bad that no body can move or walk. The rest of the patrons inevitably get very rude and pushy aswell, since they cant see anything or move anywhere either. They have a balcony but unless you have a vip reserved table upstairs that entire floor is completely useless. The staff makes you stand 6 feet back from the balcony and tables making the view from up top impossible. Bathrooms were impossible to get to as was the exit. The bar was the only thing that was easily accessible but the 4oz beers in the plastic cup were over 7 dollars. Even when first ave or the cabooze is sold out or over sold for that matter, you can still get to the bathroom, the exit and the bar and see the stage plus the beers are much cheaper anywhere else downtown! Definetly will not be going back to the fineline. Pros: good perfomers Cons: over crowded and very rude staff more

The Best Fine Line Cafe Ever! 8/10/2002

The Fine Line is the best place to come and have fun, relax and see great live bands. The best band to see is The Boogie Wonderland Band on Thursdays!! You got to go see this band. And come to other performances at the Fine Line Music Cafe. Pros: Great Place To Be At, Inexpensive, Not Crowded Cons: N/A, N/A, N/A more

Great Atmosphere! 6/9/2002

They may not always get the best bands but when a good one comes Avenue it's a great place to hear live music. There is standing room on the floor and seating in the balcony which gives a great view. They've got two bars with relatively prompt service and a coat check which is very helpful on cold Minnesota nights. The architecture is cool and intimate. Fine Line is definitely cool. Pros: Live Music, Coat Check, Ambience Cons: Parking, Crowded more

  • In Short
The industrial space features a sleek bar, plasma TVs and a stage equipped with high-tech lights and smoke machines. Stairs lead up to a balcony, where couples and small groups dine and sip cocktails. Expect more of a party crowd downstairs, where Birkenstocks bump into high heels on the packed dance floor. This is one of the Twin Cities' premier places to hear big-name acts as well as bands on the verge.
