Fat Goose

I read the menu on the website, and I thought this place was worth a try. That turned out to be a tremendous under statement. The shared offerings of deviled eggs stuffed with crispy pork belly and pork roulette with mustard and picked cauliflower brought smiles to the table. The appetizers of Foie Gras with fig jam and cashew butter, and the roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pistachio nuts and poached egg, changed the smiles to giant grins. The was some good stuff, real good stuff. The entrees were spectacular, braised Rabbit, Shrimp and Grits, Boar Tenderloin with red eye gravy, each different and delicious. I love good food but this night was so special I had the chef sign a copy of the menu. This place is a must try. more

My friend and I decided to stop in for a drink and a light snack last Saturday. I guess that everyone had decided to show up at the same time...the place was packed. We sat at the bar. The cocktail menu was very creative and full of interesting cocktails, I had a Saigon Sling and my friend went with the Fat Michelada. While we were enjoying our amazing drinks, after taking a look at the menu...we deiced that we had to stay for dinner. The menu was not only creative and detailed, it was adventurous and exciting. We dined siting at the bar....it was well worth it!!! We started with Deviled Eggs, followed by Empanadas. Delicious!. Our entrees, the Quail special and Shrimp and Grits. The Chef, Jennifer Cole, stopped by and made sure that we enjoyed our dishes...not many chefs take the time out to talk to each customer...I was highly impressed by her gesture. To sum it all up....don't walk...run to this great spot!!....it is a hidden gem with a superb Chef. I am already planning my next visit.! more
