Family Care Medical Ctr - Patricia Gallant PA

I've gotten urgent care at Family Care Center for about 4 years. All the doctors are great. I went there for a sprained ankle and the doctor asked how I sprained it, and after we talked I ended up getting help with my balance that has been a problem all my life! Dr. Helfand and Dr. Gobeille and Dr. Bassett are some of the drs. I've seen and I have been happy with them every time. I only had to wait long one time and you could see the waiting room was really crowded and everybody was getting the flu. Other times it wasn't so bad at all. more

My husband and I went there. On the first visit we should have known something was awry as immediatley thereafter they called my cell. When I returned the call they had lost our files and couldn't tell us why they called. My husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea. For three months we went back and forth with the doctors and Rebecca Bassett who is a practioner - we called them 3 times a week for an update and they would always tell us they'd have someone call us back. They didn't. They also sent me to a orthopedic surgeon in the same facility who brought up the fact that I was molested though it had nothing to do with my knee. When I began crying he told me I needed to get help dealing with it despite him knowing I've been in therapy for 3 years. It's all in my file. They then sent me to one physical therapist right next door to them where they had a bunch of crack addicts then they sent me to another which I took the day off of work for and they didn't make the appointment. I arrived and they said it was made for therapy instead of initial consultation and they couldn't see me. . Well, I called them from work two days ago to try and get information about my husband's care and they kept me on hold for 30 minutes only to come back and tell me they'd have someone call me back. Of course no one did. I ended up telling them off finally and it felt pretty good. I'm also contacting a medical malpractice attorney for our options as they have caused me more stress and anxiety than I can write here. Well, now that I've told them off I've been told we can't come back...Really?? I can't pay to be abused anymore. Drats! Whatever will I do? They are supposedly faxing the information for my husbands sleep pap machine to the new doctor but I highly doubt they will. They are the most incompetent people I have ever met in my life. I never write these reviews. I've been to many doctors over the years due to changes of insurance/employment/living location and never felt compelled to write something like this until I went there. more

This place has really gone downhill. For urgent care, I recommend you try Mercy Hospital's FastTrack program instead.\r \r Back in the day, Family Care Medical Center used to be great, and Dr. Geha (who, sadly, passed away years ago) was a wonderful PCP for my family. After that, we still came in occasionally for the urgent care, but by May 2009 we were feeling like this practice was pretty mediocre, especially compared to what it had been.\r \r Still, I decided to give them another try this year, rather than go to the ER. What a mistake. I was treated extremely rudely, and I will never go back. A terrible experience.\r \r In striking contrast, the physician's assistant I saw just two days later at another facility was very knowledgeable, insightful, kind and helpful, and totally helped me get my health problems under control. The staff and doctors and nurses at Family Care are first rate! They have taken care of urgent needs for myself and my family in a timely manner. They are a great alternative to an ER visit! more

Recently I had to drive a friend who was in agony from a fall that was an almost certain broken arm and foot to this facility. We were afraid to take a chance on a long wait at emergency room of any hospital. They took her right in. The ladies showed extreme patience while trying to get paperwork done when it wasn't even easy to speak, never mind trying to fill anything out. I'd say 2 hours to take care of the entire situation and be sent home patched up. Follow up visits were prompt as well. Never a long wait for to be called into exam room. more

We have had several really good experiences at Family Care Medical. They have good hours and the wait is not usually too bad.Prices are not any worse than anywhere else and there are few places that offer what they do in the area. Staff is pleasant and seem to know what they're doing. They were wonderful with my son when he had emergency stitches there. more
