They are a rip off. Just know that if you cancel, it doesnt mean that you cancel. You will be billed for another month of membership. This is the worst gym that I have encountered. They do not process your membership when you request to cancel your membership. I requested to cancel my membership before the monthly fee was due along with the annual membership fee. Guess what, I was charged for both, even though I canceled the membership before the annual fee was to be charged. They leave your account open so that they are able to charge you regardless of when you request to cancel your membership. I have contacted my bank and filed a claim. You pay for the last month at the beginning of the membership but you arent told until you are billed another month after you canceled that it basically extends your membership for another month. If i requested to cancel my membership, why would you extend it? Join at your own risk. more

The best tip that i can give is ""Dont Join"", they might have low cost, but they have lots of hidden fee. Trust me, I am a experienced customer and paid more money in hidden fee than the regular month cost. YES, DONT JOIN Fitness 19. more

I was one of the first members of this gym (Fitness 19 Cary NC location), so I have been their from the beginning so let me share some information with you. First, the gym is insanely crowded. The last time I went to the gym I walked in with a workout plan, saw that everything I wanted to use was taken and walked right out, this is what you will get. The gym is MOBBED from around 3:30pm and only thins out about 30 minutes to close. So if you want a treadmill, or God forbid to get on some weights just forget about it, resign yourself to just using whatever is open which in my experience isn't much. Second, and most importantly THEY WILL DING YOUR CREDIT. I was issued a new debit card by my bank after many people's cards, including my own, was compromised. Fitness 19 in Cary was unable to bill this card, and so I gave them my new information (dumb.) When I looked at my credit report I had only one item on it...you guessed it, a ding from Fitness 19. The really annoying thing is that not all Fitness 19s do this, I spoke with another location who said they don't ding credit reports...just this awful location. Here's where it gets better: I recently quit the gym on the date of billing, you pay in advance so would be paying for my next month of gym service. So I'm done, right? Oh, no! I get another call telling me they are going to report my credit...again. I called their manager Hanson (Hansen?) who tells me that yes this is the case and basically blows of the complaint of a guy who was their for the last 3 years, hasn't been the his gym in 4 months due to the gyms overcrowding, who he told not 3 weeks earlier when I was trying to cancel that I was one of ""their first members"" and how he would work hard to try to keep me, and who I told numerous times during the conversation that I was unhappy with their gym. Long story short, don't join this crappy gym...but if you do, do this: I was paying $15 a month, but when I asked to quit they offered me the option to stay at $7.50 a month, and then at $5 a month, and they did the same thing with my girlfriend who quit. So, if you do join this gym...and you are a fool if you do...just ""quit"" then let them weasel you down to $5. I am really...really unhappy with Fitness 19. Don't make the same mistake. Find another gym to join. more

I recently moved to NC from another northern state. The facility itself looks appealing & is in a good location. The staff has no customer service etiquette. The Managers abuse their titled position & are not congenial at all. After finding a gym that I could utilize for much less moeny, but most anywhere I travel, I pursued to cancel contract; all within the 72hr consumer rights they put me off. They refused to return my calls, and was quite quirt with the tongue; disrespectful, and refused to allow me to speak. I wouldn't recommend anyone join nor attend this facility specifically. I will be writing a letter to the corporate office also. Just damn rude! Lesson learned. Check your BBB first. more

The first week I started there everyone was very friendly and helpful. Then they start pushing the personal training on you. After I tried to turn it down. When that trainer would see my friend and working out she would make comments about us. Like I see you are in here doing your little work. It was very discouraging , and so I decided to cancel my me membership with them. Before I could they took out there annual fee of 30 dollars. Which no one notified me that this was going to be drafted out of my account. Because of this my check for my power bounced , as well as my cable. So both were shut off. I seen the amount coming through and when I questioned fitness , they said that it was the annual fee. I said I really just want to cancel. I had no idea this was coming out. I even let them know that the amount that was coming would cause my checks to be bad. He said he was sorry, but there was nothing he could do. I will never recommend this place to anyone and if I anyone ever asks me. I will just tell them my experience. Gym goers beware. They pray upon those who are trying to get into shape. more

Ended membership 6-7 months ago and all of a sudden, they started drafting my account. Called to straighten it out and was promised a callback that day. Didn't happen. Called a couple of days later. Same deal - promised a call back later that day. Didn't happen. Called again and yet again, promised a callback. Yeah. Gym is pretty second rate as it is - but then to have to worry about them ripping you off?? Don't bother. more

I think this may be the cleanest gym I have ever joined! The staff is always sanitizing the equipment, they don't just leave it up to the patrons. The staff is helpful and not high pressure. They gave me information on memberships that they offer and a few days to decide what would work best for me and they are totally AFFORDABLE!! I'm not sure how they keep their prices so low since they offer great high end equipment. Fitness19 is a welcome relief after all the gyms I've worked out at in this area (most of which are now out of business). Check them out, it's worth it!! I have been to many gyms and I can say that Fitness 19 is far superior. The equipment is well-maintained and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and I got a free fitness assessment with a personal trainer when I joined. Plus it's cheap! I first went to Fitness 19 because I was tired of paying expensive fitness clubs to walk on the treadmill and use the weights. A friend reccommended Fitness 19 to me and I could not be happier! When I first walked in, I was greeted by a receptionist who then got someone to show me the club. The manager was really friendly and not high pressure at all(not like most gyms)! What most impressed me was how nice and clean the facility is! The employees are always wiping down machines and all of the equipment works! Best of all they had a really low enrollment fee and I only pay $15 per month! I never knew you could have this nice of a gym for only $15 per month! I would highly reccommend Fitness 19 to everyone who is tired of paying high price at clubs to just use the cardio and weights. Fitness 19 offers the best of cardio, strength machines, and free weights for a WAY better price! Pros: Lots of parking, month to month memberships, great price, friendly staff, clean more
