I trust my auto place. If you have a nice car- your gona have expensive parts. You get what you pay for, I am dedicated to FAST. I am not a mechanic at all but I ask a guzillion questions and they answer them all. Even with printouts and diagrams! I have and still do check on the quotes they give me for my auto work. The price is usually the around the same or cheaper. If I say not to do a part of the service (due to finances or my husband can complete)- they don't complete that as requested. God has taken care of me and my car. These mechanics are fair, honest and have great customer service. I totally recommend their service. more

Keep Away 5/5/2011

I brought my car to FAST because the fix engine light was lit. My regular mechanics had replaced the spark plugs a couple of weeks before, which had not solved the problem. I told Jim of FAST that I had already had the spark plugs replaced (a half hour job at the most). Even though I had made a definite appointment for 10:00 on a Saturday and told him I would have to wait for the car, it was over 5 1/2 hours later before my car was ready. And...all he had done was give me yet another set of spark plugs, charging me twice as much as my regular garage ($272 for a half hour job). Of course the fix engine light was still on. When I returned and complained, he was not willing to give me any satisfaction whatsoever. It seems to me this garage is predatory, taking advantage of any one they sense does not know anything about mechanics. There are decent auto repair shops in Santa Fe, like Alex Safety Lanes, who don't have to resort to dishonest tactics. Don't subject yourself to being ripped off. more

Always upfront and honest! 3/29/2011

I have been dealing with Jim and his crew for over 18 years now. They have worked on numerous vehicles for me and countless referred friends vehicles. Each and every time Jim has carefully explained the pros and cons of certain repairs or issues. Auto repair can be a difficult process at best, however I know from experience that F.A.S.T will always be upfront, honest and will do their best to get me safely back on the road. more

F.A.S.T- Went out of their way to help me! 5/29/2009

I purchased a used Honda in New Mexico and was driving it back to Denver when the car broke down and stranded me in Santa Fe. I called FAST out of the phone book, but also called several other places frantically trying to get it into the first place that would send a tow truck. Unfortunately, I had it towed to the Santa Fe Firestone (only because they said they could fix it quickly and get me back on the road), however, once the car arrived at Firestone, they said it was a ""major transmission problem"" that they couldn't handle. By this time, I had sent the tow driver from FAST away! Later that evening, Jim from FAST called just to follow up and ask why I had gone elsewhere. I told Jim what had happened and described what the car was doing at the time of the break down, and he suggested I bring it in to his shop, he thought it might not be transmission after all. Ultimately, what Firestone had said was a ""major transmission problem"", turned out to be a CV Axel that had come loose - a minor repair and certainly far less expensive then anything related to the transmission. I know nothing about cars and believe now that I was being railroaded into replacing the transmission in my Honda! FAST went out of their way to call me, and then did only the necessary repairs in an honest and professional way. Jebb and Jim's customer service and care and concern for me was amazing and I will recommend them to anyone needing auto repairs in Santa Fe! Pros: Honest, professional, exceptional customer service! more

Fast will not stand behind there work 5/13/2009

In September 2008 I brought my 2003 Honda CRV to Foreign Auto Service Technicians (FAST) to investigate an oil leak that I discovered the prior week. Jim, one of the managers of FAST, informed me that the valve cover gasket and clutch would need to be replaced even though the car had only 55k miles. While traveling weeks later I heard a load noise and I pulled over, oil was leaking all over and there was a hole under the engine. I had the car towed to FAST at which time they told me the engine had thrown a rod and possibly damaged the transmission. I told Jeb another of the managers that I only drove about 500 miles, since they worked on it and I felt that they were responsible. He made it clear that it was not there fault. I towed it to another mechanic and found that FAST did not use the Honda Authorized sealant; on an oil pan seal and that caused the failure. I had to replace the Engine and Transmission at a cost of over $4700. Don't Trust FAST. Pros: Location Cons: Cannot be Trusted more

They fixed it! 2/17/2009

Gee I saw the bad review from scammed2009? Sorry about that scammed, but I had a great experience there. I have a nIce Audi and just wasn't getting no satisfaction, till I took it to FAST. They did a great job at a much better deal than I was quoted for at another place. If you talk to Jim or Jeb you will find they are knowledgable and fair. Now for the best pizza in town go to Espiritu. more

RIP OFF!!! 12/2/2008

They will quote a price, then do other repairs without calling, then charge you for everything! more
