y friend and I had our eyeliner & eyebrows tattooed by 'HELEN LEE,' at ETCH SALON. She guaranteed that we could come back during a 6-month period to re-touch, darken or thicken our eyeliner or eyebrows. About 4 l/2 months into it, my friend tried to contact her to schedule an appointment, and she deliberately gave her a date/time when my friend was scheduled to WORK. My friend left voice & text messages to notify her of this error & to re-schedule, but HELEN LEE never called her back! NEVER, over the next month & a half. She wouldn't return my calls or texts, either so I went to ETCH SALON to confront her: She said: 1) she no longer gives clients a 6-month window to re-do or touch-up (only 3-months, now) 2) she's too busy to schedule our touch-ups 3) she wanted to charge $35 to touch-up and 4) she never called me back to schedule an appointment. Bottom Line: She blew us off even before the 6 months had passed, and wouldn't honor her commitment. It became clear that all along, she intended to ""stiff us"" by ignoring our calls & texts. Basically, Helen Lee is a liar and a cheat. She is unethical and unscrupulous and I would NOT recommend her to any other clients. more

I had been going back and forth for months about whether or not I wanted to get my eyebrows permanently tattooed until one morning, I found myself scrambling to get through my daily makeup routine and get to an early Thursday morning meeting on-time when I realized I'd had enough. While on my lunch break, I made an eyebrow tattooing appointment with Helen at Etch Salon for the next afternoon. I'm so glad I did! Helen was wonderful about explaining the procedure, making sure that she was clear on exactly what I wanted, and making me feel comfortable about getting tattooed. I was a little nervous at how dark my eyebrows seemed initially, but after a couple days they lightened up to just the right shade (just as Helen had assured me they would)! I've gotten so many compliments on them, and the best part of it is that I have one less thing to do in the morning because I wake up with perfect eyebrows. :) more

First of all, I was completely against cosmetic tattooing because I've seen many women with tattooed eyebrows that have turned blue or green. I never thought in a million years I'd ever get it done but one day, I went with my friend when she went in to Etch Salon to get her eyeliner done and I was extremely impressed by Helen's professional attitude and knowledge. The eyeliner she did on my friend was so great and looked surprisingly natural. I'm sure I annoyed them both when I kept asking my friend if it hurt! I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to needles but Helen was so warm and welcoming that I was immediately put at ease. It was completely painless and I am so satisfied with the results. I have been a client of Helen's for over 5 years. I Moved to L.A. about 4 years ago but I still fly to HI twice a year to see Helen and get my eyeliner and brows done (I get the semi-permanent color for brows). I can't say enough how much I appreciate her skills and her positive attitude. I don't wear very much make up on a daily basis so having Helen take care of my brows and lashline tattoo has been fantastic! I never have to worry about my eyebrow makeup wiping off or smudgy eyeliner at the end of my day. I also have to comment that no one has been the wiser on my cosmetic tattoo. People actually think I draw my liner and shade my brows in everyday. I love how I just can put on a little spf lotion, cream blush and a bit of lip gloss and I'm out the door in 2 minutes. She first had some kind of fake tattoo done. She came home excited that she was going to get her eyeliner tattooed. She did the tattoo and then her eyelashes got thin. I told her not to do it but she insisted since the girl was sooo nice. Niceness does not grow my beautiful GF's lashes back!! I am suggesting we take the salon on a class action for everyone's whose lashes are thinning. I flew to Oahu after seeing Helen's work. She did the most fantastic work on my eyes, and I can honestly tell you it was painless. Her procedure is unbelievable and there was not pain.She will make you feel at ease and she is totally sterile in her procedure. I know you will leave totally satisfied 100%. When is comes to beauty this is one of the things that you should consider, no more smudging of the eye, it looks natural and perfect all the time! GREAT JOB HELEN!!! I was sooo nervous about getting my brows done but after meeting her I was totally at ease. She did such a wonderful job on my eyebrows, I can't believe how natural they look. I loved her work so much I went back to get my eyeliner done. Her work is amazing and it didn't even hurt! The salon is very cute and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. a girlfriend of kmine got her brows done by a small korean girl. Her eyebrows turned out horrible and since it was a tattoo it could not be changed. The girl kept saying to return for a fill in but after she ruined my friends brows, we will never return! more
