Best

Dearest ESSpa Kozmetika, You have truly changed my outlook on customer service. Every single person that I met was nothing but nice to me while I was there this past Saturday....

Worst

I have visited this salon several times on my own and to renew gift cards. I enjoy going there but everytime I leave, I feel like I paid too much money for the most AVERAGE servic...

Best Spa in Pittsburgh 9/7/2007

I began going to Esspa when they were first located in Fox Chapel Yacht Club. I followed them through their next location to the current one. I'm an extremely picky person, so for me to continue to use just one business is quite unusual. I think I've had just about every service there--wax, peels, microderm, massage, nails--and have had consistenly good service. The fact that it is hard to get an appointment speaks volumes to this fact. Add to that the beatiful European interior, complimentary beverages and food delivered from Luma (a restaurant across the street) and you have a tremendous experience. I left the city a month ago and am strongly considering the six hour drive north for services but unfortunately, after the relaxation, I'd have to drive myself back. :) Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: Parking more

Terrible service, but compliments to Audra 8/21/2007

I went to Esspa today and was very disappointed with my experience. I have been to Esspa once before and was very pleased with my appointment, but since that time I have tried on several occasion to make an appointment and was unsuccessful. I was happy that they were finally able to schedule me for a brow wax with Eva this week on short notice. I arrived early for my appointment, checked in at the receptionist desk, and was told to have a seat and someone would be with me shortly. I sat for at least 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and no one asked if I needed anything or with whom I had an appointment. Two people that arrived after me were taken for their services before me. I had to go back to the front desk to ask when I would be waited on, and after about another 5-10 minutes, I was first told that there was an issue with another client, then I was told by another person that Eva had left (even though she was supposed to do my wax). I do have to give my compliments to Audra, who ended up waxing my brows and did a great job, but overall I was extremely disappointed in my experience today. Pros: Beautiful setting, Audra did a nice job on my eyebrows Cons: Terrible customer service, hard to get an appointment more

Best day spa in Pittsburgh 7/9/2007

Esspa really is the best place in Pittsburgh to go for a relaxing spa treatment. I had a luncheon for my bridesmaids there recently and we were all treated wonderfully. They provide a welcoming atmosphere, experienced staff and excellent customer service. What I loved most was my experience with Eva doing my wedding day makeup. She did such a beautiful job and I have already convinced a friend to use Eva for her wedding day makeup. She made me and my shy mother feel totally at ease and confident in her abilities. I highly recommend Esspa and especially Eva! more

Best Spa in Pittsburgh! 5/8/2007

I have traveled the country going to day spas! I lived in Chicago and when I moved to Pittsburgh I was a little nervous about finding a new place to get manicures, pedicures and waxing. ESSPA IS IT!!! I was immediately impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I literally fell asleep in my chair during my pedicure. I sipped a great glass of white wine and enjoyed an appetizer from Luma. I took the weight of the world off my shoulders. I have been going to Esspa for one year now and I get everyone gift certificates there- for birthdays, mothers day and Christmas....everyone enjoys going there and being treated as a King or Queen! I highly recommended them to anyone that knows spas!! THEY HAVE MY VOTE!!! Thank you Eva and Scott. Mandela Pros: LUMA! Huge! Variety of services! Free Parafin in the manicures! EVA SZTUPKA!!! Cons: Books up fast!! more

Perfect place for a spa party and had a great service 4/26/2007

My maid of honor surprised me with a party at ESSpa the weekend before my big day. All my friends, my Mom and MIL to be picked me up in a limo and wouldn't tell me where they were taking me. I have heard of ESSpa but have never been (my maid of honor goes there all the time). It was as good as she said. There were 10 of us and it was as though the spa was there just for us. I had a facial with Eva that didn't make me break out or red - just glowing, and a massage with Lois that made me forget about all the planning. The rest of the girls really enjoyed it too - especially my Mother in law to be. Karen was wonderful with making sure everything went well and everyone seemed to really care that we had a good time. Lois said that they have a lot of men guests so I scheduled a manicure for my man so he would have great looking hands for our big day - I think he liked it. I will definately go back to ESSpa. Pros: Big, Open Space and Friendly staff Cons: none more

Customer service lacking 4/26/2007

I was very disappointed with this spa. Theprices are that of most day spas. You pay for the service and treatment. If I wanted rude treatment for a manicure and pedicure, I would go to a place that charges $25.00 for each. And to be honest those people are not as rude as these women. I don't know who crowned them Princesses, but they act like they are way better than you. They were rude. They actually asked my friend to leave after she spent $300.00 there. Please save your money and your time. I actually got a manicure and pedicure, but my polish was coming off a day later.........Trust me I was careful. Please save your money and try a different day spa! Pros: Safe town Cons: Customer Service, Quality of Services more

World-class massage, great eyelashes and a very good crab cake 4/26/2007

Esspa is a great place. People seem to know it because they couldn't fit me in for over a month. But it was worth the wait. Jodi gave me a deep tissue massage that was out of this world AMAZING - I have had dozens of massages all over and this was by far the best. I also had a pedicure with Lisa that resulted in very pretty feet and I did this eyelash extension thing which took almost two hours but I now these long beautiful eyelashes which I never had before. I was there for about 5 hours and was pampered the whole day long, they even provided a decent champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. To top it off, the girl at the front desk called over to Luma (restaurant next door) and had a crab cake salad delivered for me to enjoy in some kind of new balcony relaxation area that ESSpa just built. I learned my lesson and scheduled my next visit before I left. ESSpa is my new best monthly treat. BTW - Sundays and Mondays seem to be the best (least busy) days to go. Parking can be an issue so try to get there a little early to find a good spot. Pros: Treatments, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Less than satisfactory 4/23/2007

Unfortunately, I had a less than satisfactory experience at this spa. First, I arrived to find that I did not have an appointment and was told that there must have been a mistake. They were able to "fit me in" which meant cramming in my services and cutting some of them short. I really didn't like my facial with Eva; she was very rough and spent a lot of time complaining when I just wanted to relax. I ended up with scabs where she had extracted my blemishes. But I had a great service with Erinn; she does a great wax. And Robert gave a wonderful massage; I highly recommend his deep tissue massage. But facials are my favorite service and I was really disappointed with mine and it was only 40 minutes when I paid for the Traditional European Facial which was supposed to last for over an hour. Pros: Great massage and waxing Cons: Parking, Cost (prices go up almost monthly), Complaining owner more

what an experience! 2/18/2007

this was a wonderful surprised nestled in Aspinwall. I was taken here as a birthday surprise and had a day of pampering to my delight! The staff were hospitable, had mimosas for the guests, as well as herbal teas and lemonaid. The treatment rooms tucked in the back of the facility transported you to a quiet French street with the different "store fronts" individual rooms for the masssages, the facials, and such. (trompe d'l'oiel) The lighting was low and relaxing, and the bathrobes plush and warm., and the staff very attentive. I had a delightful lunch that came from a neighboring restaurant. My manicure and pedicure were blissful, and i had such a glow afterwards. I really love my finace, and this just was icing on the cake at a superb spa. Definately going back! more

Wonderful spa 11/21/2006

This is a wonderful spa. They have a plethora of services to offer. Their facilities are nice, relaxing and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this spa. It is one of my favorite in Pittsburgh. It is a great place to go with a group of friends and book several appointments together. Pros: Nice facilities, great services, friendly staff Cons: street parking more

My favorite get away 6/30/2006

This place is 15 miles from my house and it's worth every mile of it. Check out their tremendous list of services on their awesome web site. I have tried almost all of their services and they do a really great job at pampering you. I highly recommend the 90 min. hot stone massage. You truly get al the attention you want here. I LOVE the hot lava pedicure. Heaven! Most recently I tried one of their facials. I really felt revitalized and fresh after it. All of the people working at Esspa are nice. They're not stuffy- but some of them are more accomodating than others. I find each person to be an expert in their area and the owner has done a wonderful job in creating a comfortable, relaxing, and interesting environment. Something for every sense here. Enjoy!! Pros: Variety of services, experts, ambience Cons: Metered parking more

I won't go anywhere but ESSpa! 1/30/2006

I've been using ESSpa's services since they moved to Aspinwall and I could not be happier. The products are wonderful, the staff is fantastic, the ambiance is very relaxing...you really feel pampered here. My hands and nails always look fabulous thanks to regular appointments with Tracey K. I've also had massages (Mary Ann is the best!), facials, and salt scrubs. Every 3 months a friend and I schedule a spa day together for stress relief-it does the trick! And doesn't break the bank. Pros: attentive staff, friendly atmosphere, relaxation potential Cons: limited parking more

Simply fabulous! 1/18/2006

The experience of a lifetime!!! Take a trip to Europe in one day in Aspinwall, PA!!! I have never felt so pampered in my life. I even got my husband to schedule a duet massage, which he loved. He even wants to schedule a men's manicure next week, which before this experience, he would have never even have thought about. The personnel are knowledgeable and accomodating. My skin and nails have never looked better. Overall the spa itself has a flair of excellence and I felt special. more

Exhilaration from Beginning to End 1/18/2006

There is nothing like ending a long day at work with a visit to Esspa. As soon as you walk into the spa, you naturally start to breathe easier and relax. Not to mention the welcoming you receive at the front door. You have an awesome experience and haven't even started your spa treatment yet. Then you go back into a room. There is only one thing to say - Eva is absolutely magical. You walk out of the spa feeling relaxed and beautiful. Your overall experience will be nothing less than euphoria. more

Eva's great 1/15/2006

I have never met anyone so concerned about other people than Eva. She has taken great care of my face and goes out of her way to accomodate me. She knows more about skincare than anyone I know and it shows in her services. Her spa and the rest of her staff is like her, not pretentious, caring and courteous, effective and relaxing at the same time. If you want results go here. Pros: Eva, Knowledgable, Feels like home more

Queen for a day . . . frequently 1/13/2006

I've been visiting ESSPA for about a year now and have had the pleasure of sampling many of their services like nail services, the salt glo scrub, massage, facial, etc. The staff is great, especially the young lady who does my nails named Tracey K. Everyone is so pleasant and they help to make you feel relaxed and welcome. I would recommend their services to anyone and I do regularly. Pros: Relaxing, Classy, Knowledgable Cons: A little pricey more

Best Massage 1/12/2006

I started getting a 90 minute massage every week at ESSpa from Lois three years ago. The only time I have missed my appointment is when I go on vacation. That equals over 150 massages! (I'm on a plan so it isn't too expensive - about $40 each). My wife goes every week too for a variety of services. Nothing anywhere can compare - and we feel great. Pros: Very Professional, Showers in rooms, High quality more

One word...AMAZING! 1/11/2006

I went to ESSpa this past weekend for the ESSpa ESSpirit Package. I was a little disappointed when I received a gift card for all petite services because I thought they wouldn't be as luxurious as full treatments. Well I was very wrong! I changed my petite manicure to a full set of acrylics from Tracey Lyn and my nails have never looked better! She did such an amazing job. I hope next time to get a longer facial and massage, but I was so thrilled with the services I experienced. I can't wait to go back! Pros: extremely luxurious, personable staff, relaxing more

WOW 1/11/2006

I think that every women in pittsburgh must have received a gift card to this spa this christmas because it took me three weeks to get an appointment. It was definatelty worth the wait, Eva gave me a facial that lasted 2 hours with something that smelled like fresh peaches - I'm still glowing. And I fell asleep during my pedicure that lasted another 90 minutes - their waiter (a spa with a waiter?) waked me up to serve me my crabcakes and champagne. I learned my lesson, I booked again before I left (and they gave me a discount for doing so). Call early but worth it. Pros: Beautiful space, Big rooms, Open every day Cons: none more

Top Notch! 1/10/2006

There is no other spa for me! I have experienced many of their services and every time I am impressed. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly/kind service, and a very skilled staff. A very well operated business. You can not go wrong with anything you choose. Also they are on the cutting edge with all the newest equipment and services. Plus they have great hours. I have been to approximatly twelve other spas throughought the United States and Europe and it does not get any better than ESSpa Kozmetika! more
