Our house in Wake Forest would present a challenge to anyone: the previous owner took it upon himself to paint all 2,000+ square feet despite his old age and weak eyesight. Bright white paint on the trim made the corresponding white doors appear almost grey. Where baseboards began and walls ended was a blended swirl of visual insanity. Countless holes in the walls told the stories of the haphazard assemblage of wall art that had been, and some seriously hideous settlement cracks that the previous owner had plied his hand at addressing, and had done so very poorly. When my fiance and I purchased this house, we did so knowing that the bones of the house were solid, but neither of us could truly ""see"" the house. Then came Eric Levinson Painting Company; a true craftsman, Eric and his crew took their time to produce what feels like a living work of art. There is no doubt in my mind that they were the best choice we could have made when we were looking to hire painters. Without the benefit of word-of-mouth referrals, we searched for ""Raleigh painter"" and found his company. My fiance and I immediately knew that we wanted Eric to paint our house: he's a professional of more than thirty years, and he's extraordinarily passionate about his work. When he first arrived at our house wearing painter's whites, he didn't just look around and produce figures: he asked us questions and gave us both an education in his trade. We looked into a handful of local painters after reading reviews online, but Eric Levinson was the only one who walked into our house and inspired confidence. I felt like he had a vision for what our house could be, but that he also had two feet firmly on the ground and understood that we needed to stretch every dollar. He was upfront and honest about what costs we could expect to incur, and what we could do to diminish some of those expenses: he was the only painter who sent us pages (literally!) of suggestions for what to do to make our project as successful as possible. The hours I spent scrubbing baseboards and checking to see if a paint color would cover in one coat paid dividends: Eric's steady hand cut in along all that trim and the lines absolutely pop. No longer is there any confusion: what you now see in our house is an amazing contrast between floor, baseboard, wall, and ceiling. Eric told me several times throughout the project that if his name was going to be attached to it, he wanted it to be done right. I will say that of all the contractors, he was the only painter who I believed wanted to see the place pop as much as I did! And speaking of contractors: Eric was the lead painter on our job every single day. There's something that's really special about meeting the person who doesn't just create estimates, but will be working on your house personally every day. Once upon a time that may have been the norm, but today, it's unique. And more so, when you have people in your home every day, you are trusting them with your investment. Everyone on the job was friendly and personable, and treated both us and our pets with enthusiasm and respect, and never once did I look at anyone and question my decision to give Eric Levinson Painting Company a key to my house. He doesn't have an enormous crew, and he isn't in and out in two days (nor does he try to be!): Eric and his associate are craftsman who, over the course of a week, transformed my house into a place that I now think of as home, and they poured their souls into these walls. I couldn't really see the lines of my house until Eric's brush revealed them to me. My fiance and I couldn't be more pleased, and would heartily recommend Eric to anyone in need of interior painting!
