Best

I went to Enrico's last Friday for the first time for a friends birthday and had one of the best experiences I can remember. What a great place, our waiter was so cool, he joked ...

Worst

Enrico's has a great atmoshphere but the food is mediocre and the tables are so close together that you may have people bumping into you the entire time....I did. Pros: Outdoo...

Stick with drinks and music 3/8/2004

The patio seating is nice, but the service and the food was under par. The food was ok, but overshadowed by the scant portions and high prices. The crab cakes were literally quarter size in diameter - I had barely eaten it when I forgot what it tasted like! A $13 comes with two. The cheese plate is actually a small cutting board with about 6 thin slices of cheese. The waiter never checked on us and we had to hunt him down for water and the bill. He then spilled water on me and our leftovers and didn't acknowledge it. We canceled our request to have it boxed up. Its best to stick to drinks and music here. Enrico's would do well to live up to its inflated status by putting out more effort and restructuring its menu and pricing. Pros: Live Entertainment, Patio seating Cons: , Bad service more

Pure Fun 2/2/2004

The menu is small but very good. The desserts which are homemade are fantastic. The trio of sorbets are great. They serve gigantic beers nad have a good Port list. The music is very entertaining. We loved the outdoor tables but hated the smoking. We will be back but sit inside. Pros: Desserts, Service Cons: , Loud more

Worth The Trip 1/19/2004

I try to get into Enricos a couple of times a month. Nothing in this city can compare to sitting on their patio, sipping on one of their kumquat concoctions and nibbling on fried olives while great live jazz spills out into the night. Its an experience I always look forward to and am never dissappointed. Pros: tasty food, tasty drinks, tasty music Cons: parking more

Fair food/server with attitude 10/26/2003

While the food was fair, the prices were extremely inflated and from the moment we sat down, it was like we had entered a factory and were to be in and out as quickly as possible. Our server rushed us by trying to take our order three times within 10 minutes of seating us despite the empty tables all around us. We ordered a $40 bottle of chardonnay and after pouring it, she placed it on the table with nothing to keep it chilled. When we asked for a cooler to hold it in, she acted as though we had asked her to fly to the moon for us. The food was alright, but the prices were high and the rush combined with the attitude was enough to make for a bad dining experience. Enrico's is a tourist trap and I would discourage anyone from dining there. Pros: outdoor seating, valet parking Cons: bad service, fair food more

bring your own wine 10/25/2003

If you get reservations, you can forget the patio. (The snooty hostess will tell you, ""We don't accept reservations for our patio"" after you've been lead to believe it's possible. Otherwise, there's no need to get one.) But once inside, there's a good bar for mixed drinks, live jazz on some evenings, and food that is actually decent -- even for SF standards. The appetizers are typical for the area. The pasta is decent, though there's better further into North Beach. Their grilled meats are better. And they actually make a decent espresso for a restaurant. One major problem is their wine storage. Paying $40 (and up) for a bottle on a rare warm evening, I did not expect my wine to be served at the temperature of Chinese tea (at least 85F). Thus I presume their wine stocks are suspect -- subject to premature decline due to improper storage. Pros: decent food, patio dining, good bar Cons: poor wine storage, no parking, no patio reservations more

It's ok 7/29/2003

Enrico's has a great atmoshphere but the food is mediocre and the tables are so close together that you may have people bumping into you the entire time....I did. Pros: Outdoor setting Cons: Food isn't fab, Too crowded more

enrico's is awesome! 3/21/2003

I just had dinner at Enrico's and had a really great time. The food was fabulous, and thanks to our server's recommendation of some headache-proof vodkas, my boyfriend and I didn't have hangovers the next day even though we certainly indulged in yummy martinis and kumquat caipiroshkas. Loved the live music going on in the dining room, and even got our pics taken by a funny little lady with a polaroid who I hear is a neighborhood fixture. We heard they're doing brunch on the weekends so we're going back soon to have eggs benedict on the patio. Enrico's is a blast! Pros: food, ambience, service more

In my hood 3/14/2003

I live a block away from Enrico's and i have always wanted to go. I finally went with my friend and not only was our service awful (they switched waiters on us twice), but the food was extremely meager. We got the crab cakes for our appetizer and they were $12 and included 2 that were the size of quarters. The ravioli left much to be desired as well. Take my advise, walk and extra block and get some Italian food that is actually good. Pros: outdoor seating, music Cons: food, price, service more

not as special as I think 11/14/2002

Well, first of, the music there is really not special. We stayed there from 7:30 to 9:30pm, and the singers at that day were just a singer. Secondly, the food is good but pricy with respect to the portion, tiny food with high price. The servie is ok! Comparing with other restaurants in Broadway, Enrico is just one of them without any unique places. more

random find on a Monday night 11/5/2002

Wanted to try Black Cat across the street -- but it was closed for business. We ""settled"" for Enrico's -- and boy, am I glad we did. Great outside table under a heat lamp, friendly/funny waitress. Good wine, good food (butternut squash ravioli to die for). Live jazzy band with a singer evocative of Paris in the 60's. The night was topped off by sipping Armenac and watching a couple swing dance at the bar. Fabulous. I will now purposefully go to Enrico's. Pros: outside seating, heat lamps, live jazzy music Cons: smelly street people more

this place rocks 10/20/2002

Are you freakin' kidding me? This place is awesome! I had dinner, outside, on a beautiful night, under heaters, with a funny, attentive, amazing, knowledgeable blue eyed waitress! I had one of the best dinners of my life! The risotto is fabulous, as is the pear tart. I will be back, and will reccomend this place to all. Pros: service, food, music Cons: parking, neighborhood more

The place rocks 10/17/2002

I don't know what everyone below is talking about. A the food is great all of you agree. We ate here after reading a review and had a good time. We sat outside and were able to smoke. we had some excellent food and wonderful coffee. I like the service at Enricos. the waiter helped when needed and left us alone when we wanted to talk. All in all a great place to go. Pros: patio, food, drinks more

Mojitos and live music! 10/3/2002

How can you beat that? Great place to grab some food and drinks but definitely can use some help in the service department. We had to ask our waitress three times for drinks! Pros: mojitos, great appetizers Cons: poor service more

Shameful service 9/26/2002

The food was fantastic - perfect actually (the ahi tuna appetizer was gorgeous, and the scallops were perfect). The atmosphere and ambience was lovely, if just a bit too loud. The service, however, was among the worst I've ever experienced in my life. As an example, I had to get up and cross the room to where all the servers were hanging out (interestingly, nowhere near any of the tables - where people actually needed service) to ask for utensils to eat our dessert, because they had left us staring at our creme brulee for a good 15 minutes without a thing to eat it with. Sadly, I can't recommend this place... the service is so frustrating it completely destroys the rest of the experience. Pros: Great food, Good cocktails, Lovely restaurant Cons: Lousy service, Lousy service, Lousy service more

Great Food, Awful Service 9/25/2002

Enrico's is a place I want to like- a great location, pleasant ambience, and top-notch food, but it lets itself down with incredibly bad service. On the three occasions I've had a meal here, the service has ranged from inattentive to the almost comically bad. Sorry Enrico's - three strikes and you're out. I won't be returning... Pros: Good Food, Good Location, Nice Ambience Cons: Terrible Service more

Get a Life 9/25/2002

I don't understand the complaint about service from the earlier poster.I go to Enrico's often.Mainly I go for the excitement and the people there.I know it well enough to know when the croud is getting wild.Mainly by watching how the staff handle an electrically charged often demanding room full of people.I have had the misfortune to sit next to ""fine diners"" who don't get it and they never will. My advice:hang tight, get to know your server, they are very funny people.Especially get to know the big blond at the door.Very helpful and can make any thing happen.Make her like you and you're golden. Pros: Exiting, live music, smoking on the patio Cons: some bridge and tunne, can be packed at bar more

you get what you pay for... or do you??? 9/3/2002

This restaraunt is a bit pricey but the food is great, too bad to have to wait sooo long for service. It is a shame when places like this lack in one of the more crucial aspects of finer dinning, service. I won't be treading through ""that"" neighborhood again for a meal here..... kinda sad they almost had it right! Pros: great food, good atmosphere Cons: really bad service more

Nada 8/23/2002

Ain't nothin special. Just another bar in this iconoclastic world of corporate greed. I think that there could be something to make this experience more enjoyable, but alas, I can't think of anything more

Start the evening off right! 8/15/2002

Enrico's offers a wonderful array of quality cocktails using totally fresh ingredients.....which is always amazing to me..... You can watch the fresh ingredients being hand made into a tasty treat right before your eyes. You cannot find anything like it in the city. If you like Mojitos, go see Mr. Mojito himself......I would say that if you are a fan of mint, lime, sugar, rum, and soda then it is imperative you head to Enrico's to enjoy one of these pint glasses of heaven. PLUS LADIES.....you will not be dissappointed by the eye candy behind the bar.....a little added enjoyment to any evening no doubt. more

wonderful atmosphere and food 8/14/2002

Try the mussels and oysters, the rib eye steak and the salmon and you'll be sure to come back soon. I personally love the appetizers. Plenty of selections. Drool... drool... I would skip the halibut entree. It wasn't particularly good. It's a great place for dinner or just drinks and appetizers and people watch. Try to sit outside. Enrico's has a wonderful atmosphere with live music inside (check their schedules). more
