Best

I went to Enrico's last Friday for the first time for a friends birthday and had one of the best experiences I can remember. What a great place, our waiter was so cool, he joked ...

Worst

Enrico's has a great atmoshphere but the food is mediocre and the tables are so close together that you may have people bumping into you the entire time....I did. Pros: Outdoo...

Very rude manager 8/12/2008

I have been their customer for 6 months.I went with a group of 20 people in this resturant last saturday night. The music was great and the food was good as usual but the manager(fat guy) was so bad behavior and rude. I was their customer but I promised myself never go there till they change this rude manager. more

reopened! 9/17/2007

I was bummed to see this place boarded up and looking like it closed down for so long. This summer it re-opened it's doors and had some nice renovations done. I like the outdoor patio they have, but the inside is very nice too and they always have live music. I'm not too impressed with their menu, but you can't go wrong with a few of their appetizers or their small personal pizza with some of their tasty drinks. I personally like the oysters or frito-misto appetizers. Good service and nice atmosphere, fun way to start an evening. Pros: outside dining, live music, Cons: food is so-so more

Great casual jazz restaurant with live music nightly 8/27/2006

Enrico's has outdoor space in the front of the restaurant. It's tucked in from the street so its quieter. They have heat lamps outside but on a windy day, you can really feel it b/c its situated on the corner. The decor is nice and there was a band playing with a nice sounding woman singing. The service is attentive but our waiter was a bit deadpan but still friendly. For apps we had the clam with chorizo and tomato sauce--highly recommended! And for entree we had the pan iron steak made as ordered. They also have house made pasta and that was incredible. Definitely worth going back to again. more

Great music- absurd service 4/5/2006

I have patronized Enrico's for many years and I have watched the place go up and down, but at dinner tonight the place hit a new low. The maitre d'hotel, after the long wait to be acknowledged, seemed drunk as a skunk as he reeled around the room sloppily, and the waiter was patronizing and attitudinal. The food is OK, as are the drinks, but the service really queered the experience. The reason to go here is great jazz with no cover charge. That's worth a lot. Just don't expect more. Pros: great jazz, no cover Cons: unprofessional server, ridiculous 'tude more

Sit outside and soak up the sights 11/15/2005

Loved the outdoor seating with a great view of the Financial District and the Broadway foot traffic. The live jazz is always a nice touch. The food was average and a bit pricey. The portions weren't all that huge either. I think this place is better for drinks and socializing than dining. Service was consistent with what it should be. Nothing outstanding, but by no means bad. If you're looking for a good meal, there's better locations in North Beach. But a great place just hang out. Pros: Atmosphere, Outdoor Seating, Live Jazz Cons: A bit pricey food more

Pleasant Dining Experience 6/19/2005

I arrived at Enrico's at 6PM on a Sunday night after the North Beach festival. I was promptly seated at an inside table near the window. My waiter was very efficient and courteous even though he and the other 2 waitstaff were kept jumping. I ordered the lasagna, which arrived quickly and piping hot. With a cold beer and the fresh crusty bread, it made an excellent meal. I lingered over coffee and dessert to listen to the Jazz music. Even though the place was very full by 8PM, I never felt rushed or pressured. All-in-all, a very pleasant dining experience. Pros: Good food, Good service, Good music Cons: Noisy near the bar more

Serious yet professional waiter!! 4/29/2005

Delight salad, Great steak, good Jazz music. Tasty creme caramel. I had a great 1st date there... There's a parking lot next to the restaurant. Pros: food, music, parking Cons: service more

What a cool place! 4/13/2005

I went to Enrico's last Friday for the first time for a friends birthday and had one of the best experiences I can remember. What a great place, our waiter was so cool, he joked with us all night and gave us great service, the food was far better than I'd expected (you have to try the pork chop) and the jazz band was awesome. (definately not the place to go for background music) I can't wait to take my husband there. more

Best bar/restaurant in San Francisco 3/4/2005

Closest thing to Paris in SF, a great outdoor cafe/bar/rest, free music, good food, my favorite in San Francisco! Don't forget to try the Mojitos. Pros: Atmosphere, Location Cons: parking more

Ambiance & Good Food 3/4/2005

I had dinner at the bar at Enrico's last Monday nite and had one of the best times of my life. Pizza, pear salad, and a nice dry white wine that the bartender recommended. I met a poet, a calligrapher, an aromatherapist, and a painter, and the conversation was enlightening. The best part of the night was the boogie woogie piano player. more

Second-rate 12/21/2004

Like most of the reviews say (at least those who have some knowledge of what a dining experience should be) take your business elsewhere. The wait staff needs to take Service 101, the chef (I use the term loosely here) must have slept through most classes, except ""How to Make Your Food as Bland as Possible"" and ""Cream versus Water Sauce"". As for the wine, at the price per glass, I would expect something above the notch of ""screw cap"". more

Go elsewhere 12/18/2004

Like a previous reviewer, we had a bad dining experience here. That should tell you something. Bad service, long waits, LOUD music during music. What a waste. Except for the location, I can't see why this is rated so highly. Go elsewhere--I know I will from now on. more

Poor service, too loud, decent food 11/1/2004

Six of us just went on Friday, 10/29, and were pretty disappointed. The service was so terrible, that our entire meal took THREE hours to complete. We waited forever to order, get our appetizers, have our plates cleared, get our water glasses refilled, etc. Plus, the live band makes it very difficult to hear conversation. The food was pretty decent, but overall, we were not happy with this place. I will never go there again. Pros: Location Cons: , Noise level, Value more

Poor service 9/15/2004

Beware of the host that answers the phone! This location is in a great spot, it looks great, but the service is terrible - over the phone atleast. The host had no time for me when I called for a reason other than to make a reservation. When I was asking for the cross street, he actually cut me off and said, ""oh, you're gonna make me cry"" and ""can you call me later"". Have you ever heard of such a thing from a restaurant? I'll never patronize this restaurant. Too rude for my taste! more

How are they getting a 10?! 9/1/2004

I've been to Enrico's a couple times and I was disillusioned. The prices are way too high for food that is average at best. There are so many fabulous restaurants with better prices! It is incredibly crowded and loud with slow service. I'm thinking it is successful only due to the location in the touristy North Beach. Pros: Good people watching Cons: , Average food at best, Slow service more

Cool Place! 8/25/2004

We had one night in San Fran and chose Enrico's for dinner. The neighborhood is ""colorful"" - and I liked it. It was a really cook place. The music was wonderful, the waiter was attentive and the food was really good (though not outstanding). I didn't think fried olives sounded very good, but I heard I just had to try them and was glad I did. They were delicious! Overall, there was just a good vibe about the place. Pros: music, atmosphere more

I'm not sure I get it with this place 8/15/2004

What's with all the praise about Enrico's? I just recently went with my wife for the first time, mostly to see my friend's jazz trio. They were by far the highlight of the experience, for the food and service were average at best -- just not priced that way. We had some cheese plate appetizer that was pretty good, but our entrees were... well, just average. It's the sort of food I might find at a place like, say, Park Chow, just with better presentation and doubled prices. The service was also average at best. Basically, it's a meal I'd quickly forget if it didn't fall so short of hype and expectations. The jazz was good though. Pros: Ambience, Live Music, Outdoor seating Cons: , not-so-average prices, slow service more

a gem in north beach 5/25/2004

enrico's is great, I have been going there since I was a kid. It is one of the best patios in the whole city. The food is excellent, though a little pricey, but for the most part, it is all worthwhile. The service is professional and top knotch, and I felt like my family and I had a real memorable occasion at enricos. I can't wait to go back. more

Crackin Me Up! 4/29/2004

I love Enrico's. The staff always makes me laugh. The food is tasty and the drinks get me drunk. I keep coming back for the crazy atmosphere. I absolutely CRAVE their deep fried olives. The salmon bruschetta is pretty good too...but mostly their staff makes me feel at home. I LOVE you guys. Don't ever change. You are a breath of fresh air in a stagnant world. Pros: staff, food, music more

Overpriced 4/10/2004

Having tried tons of places in North Beach, I have to say that I was disappointed by Enrico's. We made reservations for seven, two of which were only going to join us for dessert. The hostess refused to seat us until the entire party had arrived (even though the last two were coming later in the evening) and then told us they'd have to put us in for a new reservation to get us a table for five instead. We were then disappointed by the food which, mediocre as it was, left us starving for more because of the scant portion sizes. The ambiance is great for enjoying a drink or two but, for a quality dinner, I'd suggest heading to one of the other hundreds of restaurants in the neighborhood! Pros: ambiance, live music, decent drinks Cons: , small portions, overpriced more
