I think Emo's gets a bad rep because the bartenders aren't service-industry sycophants and the crowd gets a little sceneterish. But hey, it's pretty much the vena cava of rock n' roll in this town, especially since the Black Cat's in cinders. It's the only place in town where you can see Swearing @ Motorists one night and Propagandhi the next. I've seen some of my best shows there. Jason the sound guy rocks, and the door guys (and grrrls) are always staid, up-standing chaps and chapettes.
Pros: variety of music, good standby date, decent crowd
