What happened, you ask? First, the men who came to move our boxes were very rushed and didn't invoice all our boxes carefully. They took several boxes to the truck without recording them (which means those boxes could disappear and we wouldn't have a record of them). They dropped my most expensive possession, an electric piano, 3 feet onto the floor. The foreman was defensive when we asked him questions about the moving process and protocol. When they drove off with our boxes and furniture, we had a bad feeling we'd never see any of our things again.\r
Luckily, we did, but there were still more problems. For example, Elephant called to let me know our delivery was coming, so we stayed inside several days waiting for everything, but it never came. This happened 3 times!!! \r
When we finally got our delivery, we discovered that a wooden leg was broken off our antique chair! It was hastily taped onto the chair with moving tape, but it was completely not attached anymore. Then we noticed that one of our boxes (the largest one) was missing! We checked in the moving truck, but it was empty. I contacted Elephant immediately, and after a week or so they said they found our box (thankfully). However, then the company stopped communicating with me for almost 3 weeks. I had to send an e-mail threatening to report Elephant to the Southwest Mover's Association if they didn't give us our chair within 5 days. Finally, on the 5th day, they delivered our box, which had been flattened and damaged, but luckily still contained our valuables. Now that it's been almost 90 days since our move, they've sent me the estimate for our reimbursement. $30 is all they're giving us for the $200 antique chair they destroyed! \r
As you can see, our experience with Elephant Moving was awful in every way possible. I am writing this review to help prevent someone else from going through even just ONE of the bad things we experienced. Take your chances if you want, but don't say you weren't warned!
