I regularly get pedicures at Eden. It's like a mini-vacation. The pedicure takes about 1 hour and every minute is a delight. First, a soak in a flower petal and lemon slice-str...

I went for a massage and while I was there I realize that one of the housekeepers was cleaning the bathroom next thing I see was the same woman cooking. I thought they had a cook...

A REAL massage! 5/3/2007

Whenever I am highly stressed or just feel the need to get away, I always come to Eden. They are great about accepting walk-ins, and their massages are EXCELLENT!!! Do NOT come here if you are looking for a fake massage where you like to just be lightly touched, because the masseuses here really dig deep!! They are well trained in the Chinese Meridian points and know exactly where to go to relieve the tension in your body -- without you ever having to say anything! Truly amazing. I wouldn't recommend Eden for more than the massage itself though -- the shower, locker room, and sauna area don't look like they are well taken care of (but that could just be my germ-a-phobia). So, my usual deal is that I go in for an hour or hour and a half massage, change really fast into my robe in the locker room, get my massage, and then leave. However, I would prob. recommend sticking around for the post massage tea and fruit that your masseuse has waiting for you in the lounge area. All in all, I think this is probably the best place to get a massage in NYC -- I am a massage fanatic since my back is always hurting so I've been to numerous places all around the city, including Bliss, Mario Badescu, Fresh Escape, all of which do not compare! Pros: MASSAGE, also the masseuses leave you alone and don't try to make chit chat while you're trying to relax. Cons: Not really a spa where you can spend all day... more

Not a good spa to decide have facial !!! 4/14/2007

They do really good massage, but the aestheticians work over there, they will gives you alot sales pressure. Last time i have my facial here, the girl who does my facial always ask me to buying skin care and push me to do some expensive facial, I don't remenber her name, i think she has short hair and skinny. But doesn't matter of that, the most important thing is if you decide to relax and have a good time over there, I'll only recommended to have a massage . more

Yeah! 4/4/2007

I've been to Eden Spa on Many occasions and I think everyone should know what this spa is like. I have read some reviews on this site which state that Eden Spa is not upscale but I totally disagree. It is one of the most lovely, approachable, low-key and warm little gems I have ever been two. There is no pretense here, just a guarenteed lovely experience. I can make that claim because I know I am not the only one who feels this way. The first thing I noticed about this spa (oddly enough) was the sign in sheet where clients rate the spa. The first time I came I noticed that each and every client had checked off "EXCELLENT" and I was like -- wow! Everytime I go back it is the same thing. I shocked one day when I saw a "POOR" rating and then when I looked closed in small letters that client wrote: "JUST KIDDING!" I would Eden as: Consistant, Oasis-like, stream-lined, soft and clean. I have never been disappointed by them... Pros: Atmosphere Cons: yeah, right... more

Luxury Free Zone 3/24/2007

If you are looking for a modern, luxurious spa with attention to detail; this is not the spa for you. It is a no nonsense glorified nail salon. The price and the citysearch rating and a good portion of the customer reviews make you believe there will be beautiful furniture, soft towels, cozy slippers, and organic products. There is none of that, it is run down and cheap all the way around except for the price. I have to say the massage was pretty good but I will not be going back. Pros: Run Down and expensive for what it is Cons: The massage was pretty good more

My Favorite Spa! 3/8/2007

I love Eden Spa! I go here all the time. It truly is one of my fav spas in NYC and trust me I've been to a lot...(i work in the beauty industry). My boyfriend and I recently went for a couples Hot Stone massage and it was AMAZING! We were treated like royalty. I love that after your treatments are done you can hang out, lounge, have some fruit and champagne, order lunch, use the sauna, etc. When you step into Eden you immediately get away and do not feel like you are in the city. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so...on one of my trips there a certain blonde bombshell celebrity was also there....hint...she was at the oscars in a stunning red dress. Anyway it's a great spa! Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing more

Think twice .... 2/23/2007

It was a disappointment from the moment I'd walked into this facility. Instead of receiving a deep tissue massage that I had stressed for, what I acutally received was a rubbing and light brushing type of massage. In fact, I couldn't wait to get off the massage table b/c after nearly 1 hr of rubbing the body does get BORED. Other than not receiving a decent massage, I've also found the staff members to be unfriendly, unattentive, and most importantly unprofessional. Please I don't get the hype with this place! Pros: none Cons: paying for something that you don't get more

Feels great 1/16/2007

I have never felt like such a princess. Well you walk in and they give you slippers and escort you to the locker room. I felt secure in leaving my things in the lockers and they give you a robe. I recommend the Hot stone massage. The pressure is just right but it is not for those who do not like heat. The staff is pleasant and they are well mannered. Pros: greta massages, atmosphere, open on holidays Cons: a little pricey, makes you want to ttake a nap after getting rubbed more

very nice, comfortable, relaxing and romancitc atmosphere 12/31/2006

my husband and i tried a couples massage there. it was very nice. we were brought water infused with lemon and fruits. after the hour long massage, we had a half an hour to hop in the steam room/vichy shower. it was an amazing experience. the spa is beautiful, you feel like you are in an exotic jungle. Pros: vichy shower/steam room in couples room Cons: no use of other locker rooms ( no blowdryer) felt a little hurried to leave more

My boyfriend and I visited on our vacation-and it was a well needed visit! We both got Swedih massages that were great! The relaxation lounge, locker rooms, bathrooms, massage rooms were all clean, beautiful and comfortable! They offer fresh fruit (melons, apples, orange) asn other snacks and beverages to every guest. The service was impeccable! We will definitley return on our next trip to the city! Pros: Great Massages and nice atmosphere Cons: none....... more

Great Experience for a Spa Party 11/3/2006

I AM SO PLEASED with the outcome of our spa party at Eden Day Spa. Seven women received treatment like a queen from the staff. They really did a lovely job on the renovations and everything is practically made to seem as if you are far away from the bustle of New York City. My therapist Cindy was Amazing with the Sandy Beach Scrub w/Vichy Shower and Manicure Pedicure . The private party room was perfect for all the girls getting our service together, (Mani / Pedi) PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out this spa. I KNOW I AM GOING BACK and I am taking my husband. Also the shower in the coupes room is amazing. (They gave us a full tour of the place) Pros: Great Staff, Spacious Layout, Atmosphere Cons: Location Hard to find parking. more

Find real Eden in NYC 10/4/2006

The exotic window display attracted me to step into the place. A friendly receptionist greets me with a smile, he give me a tour, the facial section & both locker room with steam also bamboo sauna, there is a snack bar and refrigerator filled with and array of fresh fruits. The beautiful waiting area with a water fountain, tranquility, life plants, and sitting area surround by bamboo trees with the sound of mix water fall & relaxing music, the private couple rooms with locker, vichy shower and steam. There is a small tea table with fresh fruits, drinks and beautiful flowers. It is so attractive to me. After the tour, I went back to front desk where I purchased a certificate for couple's massage with zealous haste to return to this wonderful place. Pros: Great atmosphere Cons: Friendly staff more

Say Bye to Stress 10/3/2006

I received the certificate from my friend. It was a most wonderful gift in my life. The massage consisted of a combination of Eastern and Western techniques with the added touch of aromatherapy. The spa is clean and civilized having tranquility produced with Lilac fragrance bymusic that is so relaxing. The massage therapist has knowledge of muscles and greeted the client with very professional. I highly recommend this spa to everyone. more

Spa Week 2006 4/21/2006

I have been to many spas before so I was excited to have a spa morning with my friend. The atmosphere seemed to try to hard to be something it was not. I waited for about 35 minutes till I was seen for my first treatment. The manicures and pedicures were good. The massage was horrible. I felt tense the whole time because the pressure instead of fluid movements. I felt that the lady giving the massage was very unprofessional. She felt like she was in a hurry, cared little about modesty and talked to me during the massage. I wouldn't go back again and was rather dissapointed by the high citysearch ratings. Pros: Inexpensive, Food Cons: Unprofessionalism, Waiting, Bad massages more

Facials 4/10/2006

Eden gives the best facials in the city and the peaceful atmosphere contributes to the overall experience. You can feel the stress fading away as you enter the spa. The aestheticians are knowledgeable and willing to advise but don't forcefeed you products. more

Feel like a geisha princess... 2/12/2006

The Chocolate Body treatment was sublime! Head to toe pampering, and the best treatment ever - a warm japenese style soak in citurs rose petals, hair/scalp treatmnt, and chocolate sloughed over your body with a heavenly viche shower after - It's like four treatments in one! I felt like a geisha princess for a day. more

Spa Week Enjoyment 10/20/2005

I went to Eden during spa week where I got a 45 minute massage and a 45 minute facial. The place is great! It is so deceiving when you walk in but there is a beautiful space in the back with low lighting, candles and white curtains. So pretty! The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I had one of the best massages with Gigi that I have ever had! She used just the right pressure- almost hurting, but still feeling good. Then, I had a great facial with Jackie. She was pretty aggressive but I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything and she made my skin look incredible. I definitely plan to go back some time in the next couple months. I would recommend it to anyone especially at spa week deals. Pros: clean, good atmosphere more

Poor 9/4/2005

I'm from San Francisco and did my research on citysearch for a nice and good day spa similar to the ones I've gone to in my city. I got a couple's massage and they literally put us in a bathroom (in the women's bathroom). it was disturbing to me. the skill of the staff was what i would describe as horrible. it was more of a rub down than a massage. i spoke to the manager about the service and said i would get a certificate for the massage that my fiance and i had received because of the bad service but then he only sent a $50 gift certificate. that doesn't even cover 1 massage. horrible i tell you. horrible. more

A day of bliss! 9/1/2005

I came in for my birthday and had an entire day of services lined up. I started with the deep tissue massage and the only bad part is that their massage rooms are like cubicles - you can hear others walking around outside. I then went for the Sandy Beach scrub which is absolutely amazing. Rose petals and fresh lemon in the water. Afterward they had my lunch waiting for me and I sat in the lovely lounge area. Off to my facial where the facialist tried to push extra products on me but I politely explained that I was already purchasing a package. She was fine with that. Ended the day with a great manicure/pedicure. Definitely recommend this spa. more
