I have bought there forever! Its the best gun shop anywhere near the North-West I was in there just today and they fixed me up really nice. Keith was a little bit snappy but he's ...

I have been to Keith's several times over the years. I live on the central Oregon coast so the drive is long and tiring. My first visit was met with a bunch of folks who all had a...

happy 6/13/2007

First time costumer new to the game and love theme. I love it they have so much and are so friendly . I went in for my first had gun knowing nothing at all I meet the owner nice guy he started to help me but it gets so busy there so he had his top seals men I think or should I say boy a tall skinny boy in his early 20s took over .he knew most of his stuff . I had a lot of questions and he knew most of them but he needed some help from the other young guy both where great they knew the rest . I walked out that day fleeing good with my first had gun a glock 27 and the knowledge on how it works. have been happy ever since I would like you to know it can get very busy there and can feel like your been ignored but your not when they get to you it?s the beast I will come back for my next gun and many more after that thanks b & s good times a very happy customer\r Pros: all more

Awesome prices, Great selection! 6/13/2007

I've been a customer of Keith's for 10 years. They have the best Glock and Bushmaster prices and selection in Oregon by far. Great selection of AR accessories and the resources to get what you want. They have helped to build my collection and made me a very happy customer in the process. I recommend Keith's to anyone who is in the market for good gun prices! By the way Keith's also has a great presence at the Gun Show, check it out! Pros: Location, Selection, Price Cons: parking and not open on Sundays more

Great selection and good guys behind the counter 6/8/2007

After reading alot of negative reviews I was a bit worried about heading over to Keiths. I was in the market for a new Glock and decided they were a close dealer. Right when I walked in the door I was greeted by a couple guys behind the counter. AT NO TIME were they rude. I spoke to two guys in their mid 20's and they were VERY helpful and showed me a few guns under the counter. After about 45 minutes of looking around I dropped almost a grand at the store on a brand new Glock and several accessories and ammo. I am DEFINITELY going to go back for a new shotgun and probably a Kimber. Reccomended!!! Pros: Nice location, good staff, honest people Cons: none!! more

Best Gun Store - Highly Recommended 4/28/2007

Keith's Sporting Goods is the most reputable, honest and cost conscious gun store I have ever seen. Keith offers a wide variety of guns, all ot which are reasonably priced. Keith's is a gun buyer's store and is probably geared more to the gun enthusiest than the first time buyer. \r \r But make no mistake, whenever you buy from Keith, you are getting the absolute best product and the lowest price. I have bought over 20 firearms from Keith over the past 16 years and I will continue to purchase quality firearms from Keith and his staff. \r \r There are plenty of gun stores throughout Portland that offer inferior products at elevated prices, providing nice yet self-serving advice. Keith's Sporting Goods, however, will provide you with candid, no nonsense and professional recomendations on your gun buying needs. Keith's is a family run business, just like the old days. Keith's wife, son and daughter have all worked in the store at one time or other. They are all wonderfull, hard working and honest people. You won't find that personal connection at a commericialy run super store.\r \r For my time and money, I will always go to Keith's Sporting Goods. There is absolutely no better place from which to purchase a firearm. Pros: Lowest prices, highest quality, most professional, family owned and operated. more

Reasonable prices, unreasonable customer service. 4/20/2007

I registered for an account (probably like several others here) to complain about the service. The prices are often the best at the gun show, and I've purchased several firearms from Keith, but ask a question and the best you can hope for is a curt response. I don't know if the guy wearing the poker player glasses still works there, but he was the biggest (insert words this system won't allow) I've ever met. If they didn't have good prices on some things and a convenient location, I would definitely stop shopping there!\r \r My recommendation is to go there knowing exactly what you want to buy and to do so with as little interaction as possible. Research your purchase online, use google, talk to friendly people at your local shooting range, etc... If you are a curious first-time buyer, go to a gun show. Seriously! Pros: Convenient Gresham location, low prices Cons: Condescending and curt sales people... more

Large Selection, Average service 4/10/2007

You know, its funny but all the people reviewing on here have only done one review with their account in all. I don't think the service in Keith's is nearly as awful as they make out. I don't really like keith himself but the ""guy in a T-shirt"" is always very helpfull. I have been going here for years and the selection and prices are worth it. They have always answered my questions and even helped me with a problem I had. All in all If you like shooting you should give this place a look. Pros: Good Prices Cons: Pretty Busy most of the time more

Avoid Unless You Are Thick Skinned!!!!!!!!! 4/10/2007

Interesting that everyone else is experiencing the same kind of rudeness I had to deal with when I went into Keith's Sporting Goods. Keith, Along with the team he has working in his store I must admit are the rudest sales people I have ever had to content with. If you have a question - Good luck getting anyone to give you more than 5- seconds of their time and you better have thick skin when if you find anyone that will give you an answer. I also suggest turning off your hearing aide if you want to keep a smile on your face when you leave the store. I decided that paying an extra $10.00 down the street at another store with someone that actually cared that I had an excellent experience purchasing a firearm was better then seeing how fast I could recover from cleaning off a rude verbal pie off of my face. more

Unless you thrive on insults, Don't go to Keiths 4/7/2007

Keiths has good prices but the service is the worst I have ever experienced. I have never been yelled at or insulted while shopping like I was while looking at guns at keiths. I was admiring a fine italian firearm and while attempting to open the breech of the shotgun I pushed the lever the wrong way. I would have welcomed a simple correction but instead a man with short grey hair from behind the adjascent counter began to shout, ""Dont push that that way! Dont you know anything about shotguns?"" He shouted at me and the person who was helping me. I think the correct question for him should have been, Don't you know anything about people skills or customer service? I had previously asked another man what kind of handgun could I get in a certain price range. He simply spouted out a brand name without even thinking of showing me where they were or maybe what models they had. I admit the prices are good but I will never go back and strongly discourage anyone else from supporting the juvinile behavior exibited by those at Kieths. Pros: Good prices, good selection. Cons: No customer respect. more

BAD PEOPLE - PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PAY SLIGHTLY MORE 4/5/2007

The rudest bunch of people. One has to be a skin-head to attention and service. It was my first gun. They sold me a gun without even showing be how to load it. Sold me wrong ammunition. The ammunition for the gun they sold me is not even readily available.\r \r I wanted a .22 or .223 (friends had suggested this caliber). They send me home with Browning which uses .223 WSSM bullets, this is very expensive ammunition compare to .22 or .223. I went back to them and told them that I could not load the ammo they sold. Found out that the ammo they sold was wrong and they did not have the .223 WSSM. They refused to take the gun back which had not been fired. It is now a week later and they have not been able to obtain and supply the correct ammo. \r \r DISPARAGING, MEAN, RUDE, BIGOTED. SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY IN BUSINESS. BAD BUSINESS PEOPLE. Pros: APPEAR TO HAVE GOOD INVENTORY Cons: RUDE, UNFRIENDLY AND UNHELPFUL PEOPLE more

Local outfit, sadly not up to scratch. 3/14/2007

Pretty good selection but as much as I wanted to like them (was recommended them by shooting instructor) they were just an unhelpful bunch and not particularly likeable. Sold me my first gun and did not even show me which way to point it or load it etc. Also I later called to ask if they knew of any gun clubs that I could look into taking a class at and maybe also some competative shooting and the answear was a simple ""nope"". Duh! As much as I like to buy 'local' I have now moved on to Sportsmans Warehouse where service has ben great. Pros: Local Cons: You will with wish the employees would move out of state more

unhelpful, rude sales people 3/5/2007

An acquaintance suggested ""Keith's"". I went there. The service was extremely poor and I really disliked the people working there. They either knew nothing (which says a lot since I'm nowhere close to being a ""gun nut""), or were rude and unhelpful. Examples: I asked to see several handguns. Each of the two women who assisted me, while not rude, knew nothing about the weapons. Each time I had a question they'd holler across the room to someone else (at least they tried).\r \r By far the worst was a chubby youngish guy in a black tee-shirt (I understood him to be the owner's son). He brought a couple items for me and answered a couple simple questions. I then asked him how much a couple of the guns weighed. When he gave me a blank look, I asked ""do you have the documentation, or maybe just a scale?"" His reply: ""we're not a post-office"". \r \r Keith's has a good selection. But if you want to be treated conscientiously and politely by knowledgeable sales people I suggest you go somewhere else. more
