Editorial review from Citysearch 6/9/2013

Please Never use these people!!! These people were only supposed to diagnose our car and told us if they had to take the head off it could cost up to $600 to x-ray it. We thought they were just going to confirm a head problem. They completely tore it apart first instead of giving us options, quoted $5600 to repair it. We shopped around and everyone was 1/2 that and less. We said no. Told us to pay $600 to get the car. Did not understand what the $600 was for. They said they had a signed work order to do take off the head. We thought that would happen when they confirmed a head problem, quote us the repair cost and we agreed to the repair work to be done. They never gave us a work order, refused to give us a copy when we asked for it, insisted we pay him first, days later when we pay then he hands us this work order with $600 on it. we don't know what was on there when we signed and dropped the car off. They would not put it back together and had to pay double if they did and still would have got car back broke with no repair which means they get $1200 to quote a repair job. He could have quoted us a repair either with a cracked head or just a head gasket then we could have said yes or no. We picked it up, motor was completely disassembled, head was completely apart in boxes, other parts around the motor were off, He took things apart that have nothing to do with diagnosing the overheating problem, things that would not be removed even if he did do a head job going beyond what we took it there for. We could not find any one to put it together since no one was in the puzzle business, forced into buying a whole motor and labor to swap. Never was it necessary to tear it apart to just quote what we would have to spend one way or the other. They purposely tore it apart with intentions to force us into paying an outrageous bill just to get it back not running or an outrageous bill if we could afford to pay them their price to have it running. This was deceptive and unfair. It was $200 for wreckers, Eagles $600 , the cost of a complete motor $1600,and labor $650 plus $400 to reassemble the unnecessary stuff Eagle took apart that we did not have to spend, A head job is anywhere from $800 to an overpriced $1200, we spent $3300 do to their deceptive trade practices! Thank you Eagle in Pearland!!\r \r Adding this to there response, That junk about some one threatening them is a big made up FAT Lie!! That shows how little integrity they have. No one threatened them and when we went to discuss the matter of the $600, the owner Became irate and threatened us which is true and never did any one say anything about ruining their reputation with these factual comments as a vendetta that was a surprise to Eagle, I am telling a fact, which is the truth! Good come back Eagle with your weak excuse lie, you are the Victim since we did not pay and got our car back free, right! No way any tried to scam you, if we were trying to scam you we would have sued you for negligence and deceptive trade, we took a loss thanks to YOU ,what a joke! We just thought it would be nice to give you $600 for our car delivered back in boxes which I have pictures of to prove it. At least we sleep at night knowing we told the truth.. DO NOT BELEIVE THEM OR USE THEM it is your choice but they do not deserve any business. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/25/2013

Just want to say that my wife was having issues with her vehicle and it was on a Sunday I couldn't get to her because she was across town in Pearland . so i google an automotive repair shop to see if anybody was open on Sunday's ,Well turns out that Eagle Automotive and Transmission was open, I talked to the manager Mike,I explain the problem that the vehicle was having.. He call a tow truck and had my wife towed in after about an hour I get a call that all the vehicle needed was a speed sensor and the cost was like $172.56 dollars .I was surprise that he took the time to fix my wife's vehicle and done at a reasonable price ... Thanks Mike and the crew at Eagle Automotive and Transmission. I would definitely recommend Eagle Automotive and Transmission to my friends more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/25/2013

This is a response to Eddy P. \r Mr. Eddy sent his wife in to initiate work to his brother in laws BMW. The vehicle was towed in with numerous pieces already removed from the engine and placed in the trunk. Eagle explained to his wife that because the engine was in pieces, it would be impossible to determine what the cause of failure is or the extent of the damage due to the many parts that were previously removed from the vehicle. The customer stated that the vehicle had overheated so therefore it was explained that Eagle would first remove the heads and have them magnifluxed to see if they were damaged from the said overheating. This service was quoted at $600.00 due to the extreme amount of labor necessary to remove the heads. It was explained to the customer that this charge is only for the removal and nothing else, however, the fee would go towards any repairs necessary. After this service was performed Eagle contacted the customer and invited them to the facility to view the damage to the engine. It was explained that the block and heads were both damaged and they were given their options. At this point, the customer (Mrs. Eddy P.) mysteriously dropped out of the picture and now Eagle was dealing with the younger brother, the husband and the grandfather. All three of these men threatened Eagle if we did not release the vehicle without a charge. Mr. Eddy P. expressed that if eagle did not release his vehicle at no charge that he would go on a posting vendetta (as he has done) in order to harm Eagle's business. We at Eagle feel that these folk's were simply trying to pull a SCAM by having the wife initiate the whole situation and then they would jump in and cry foul. Obviously this is simply a scam and we at Eagle will not give in to these threats or extortions. We at eagle would be happy to share any information concerning this. We at Eagle have maintained an A +_ rating with the BBB for years and are also members in good standing with the Chamber of Commerce. more

Regarding the review from mtroscl! 8/29/2010

Mr. Doug Botkin aka (mtroscl), in response to this gentleman?s posted review. This customer insinuated that he wanted to involve Eagle Transmission in a fraudulent claim concerning the repairs needed on his vehicle. Eagle refused to participate in these activities and thus angered Mr. Doug Botkin which resulted in this negative review. more

REGARDING THE REVIEW BY NCErin 8/29/2010

In regards to the review listed from NCErin, we do not show any record of this type of situation or repair occuring nor do we/I remember the situation. Alot of people drive into the parking lot intending on seeing Eagle and go next door to Condor. This may or may not be the situation but many people make this mistake. If I had any idea who NCErin was or had record of this individual I would be trying to make contact in effort to resolve this issue! more

Revised Review - Would not recommend 8/27/2010

I had previously posted a negative review of Eagle Transmission for what we perceived to be a misleading discussion that did not disclose the total cost to determine the problem with our car and subsequently return it to a drivable condition if we opted not to make repairs. If we had been told the total amount needed to return our car to us in working order (whether or not we chose to have repairs), we would not have pursued work in the first place. We were upset for this reason, as well as our treatment after expressing frustration about the service. I was contacted the day after posting a review and threatened with a slander lawsuit if I did not remove the negative review. Eagle Transmission later posted a response on this site using full names (in 5-star review form) accusing us of illegal activity. Due to our problems with our service, we decided not to allow Eagle Transmission to make any repairs or complete further work. We had our car (still broken) towed to our driveway. The transmission is currently in pieces in our garage. Approximately 1 ? hours before picking up our car, we were contacted by Eagle and told that they would only accept cash as legal tender for our transaction, even though it is clearly posted on the door of the business (and at the front counter) that credit cards were accepted. This resulted in a last-minute ATM visit to try to avoid the additional storage fees that would be assessed if the car was left overnight. I am extremely disappointed by our experience with Eagle Transmission and would not recommend it to others. more

Stay Away!!! 5/20/2010

New to town, I went to Eagle after experiencing some problems with my car. It seemed to get good reviews, but be cautious!! My car was diagnoised incorrectly three times. It spent more time in the shop than driving me to work, and I paid for services I didn't need. Long story short, it's still not fixed and they will not honor their warranty. Get a second opinion before taking their word. more

Not just transmissions 12/14/2009

My truck has been missing real bad when I get up over 50 miles per hour. I was told by one mechanic that the transmission was going bad and it would cost me about 1500 dollars to fix. Well I was out driving with my daughter yesterday and we was looking for something to eat when I saw that a mechanics shop was open (on a sunday). I thought just for kick I would see what they had to say. I pulled up and this guy named Mike walks out and listens to my truck then ask me a few questions and tell me its my spark plugs. I asked him when he could fix it and he said right now. So we go sit in the office and he comes and tells us he just ordered some pizza and wanted to know if we wanted something to eat. We ate ppizza drank root beer and now and got my truck fixed all in one stop. My daughter thinks all mechanics are pretty cool now, I wish that were true. But Those guys at eagle sure made us feel at home and the cost was alot better than buying a new transmission. BTW my truck runs like brand new. Pros: Very generous more

Good old fashion Mechanics 12/14/2009

My wife and I were stuck in the traffic on the beltway, this guy stops and ask us if we need a hand. I tell him my transmission went to slipping and just stopped, so he pulls out his phone and tells me I will call you a wrecker and it will cost you nothing at all. Then he tells us that he will give us a ride to the shop he works at. So we go and sure enough he comes the care. Come to find out I had blown a transmissions oil line, so they fix and of course we pay for the line and we are driving like new again. I just wanna say thanks to these guys for making a bad situation into a good one, and saving us alot of money. Pros: Bend over backwards to help Cons: None that I can think of more

I couldn't Believe IT!!!!! 12/14/2009

I just had my transmissions rebuilt by another unamed company, and was having the same exact problem as before. SO I went to Eagle there in pearland and the guy takes my car for a test drive comes back and puts it on his lift and looks around for a minute, then hands me my keys and says it's fixed. When I went to pay him, he just shook my hand and said don't bother, I already paid enough. I didn't know people like this even exhisted anymore, only on little hous on the prarie. Pros: Highly trained people Cons: Candy machine in office only half full more

Great Service 8/27/2009

I don't kow what the last guy is talking about but sounds like someones batting for the other transmissions shop down the street. These guys are top notch and you do get paper work with your work, with the warranty on the First page in all CAPS Pros: Top Notch Mechanics more

horrible- avoid at all costs 8/17/2009

These people seemed like a honest group, but they are not. They did not fix the problem that we took the car in for, which was a simple leak to fix. Spent 600 dollars and all we got back was a damaged car. They said they didn't damage the car, but they lie. If they didn't damage the car, then why did they try and fix it 3 or 4 times? The owner is scumbag. They never return phone calls, are rude with you, and told us to take the legal route, and that we won't win because we have no proof of what they did. Who takes a picture of their car before they bring it in for work? Also, it sounds like they damage lots of people's cars because the owner said ""this happens all the time, why don't you take the legal route and start gathering your proof."" They give you no paperwork, and their ""warranty"" work is a joke (30 days). Pros: nothing Cons: everything more
