The first thing off the truck when they delivered my items was a 3 foot tall floor vase that was shattered into a million pieces. How does something that big get damaged that badly? Well, I looked inside the truck and was astounded to see all of my items obviously haphazardly thrown on top of others. I could not believe my eyes. I had an iron skillet broken in 3 pieces! When I filled out the presentation of loss forms, provided pictures, and they offered an amount that was related to the weight of my items, which was ridiculous. The amount they offered was a joke, but after talking to an attorney, we were advised that it would take more money to sue them than what I already lost, so we signed the form accepting the pathetic amount offered. As of today, I still don't have a check. They are horrible!!!!!!!!!! more

HORRIBLE! Please contact me if you are even considering using this company. I am happy to forward anyone a .pdf comprehensive of my claim and the sheer disrespect demonstrated by their claims department. This will include receipts; photo evidence; signatures from their delivery men acknowledging severe damages; presentation of loss; an Excel table illustrating damages and what their respective reimbursements should be; and full e-mail threads between their claim representatives and myself. E-Z Movers have breached their contract. The metrics used were arbitrary and did not account for the appropriate size (excessively small) to reimburse at the contractual $0.60 per lb. Over $2400 in damages, and I was provided a take-it or leave-it $87 offer. Several of my items never arrived. Both of my couches were torn; kitchen table did not arrive; mattress has mold around the perimeter; two bookshelves arrived as a pile of split boards; and my TV pedestal destroyed, which in effect, is a ruined TV as it is not wall-mountable. Prior to the damages, the foreman completely took advantage of me. He conned me into paying him $200 cash to avoid a long-carry charge. The charge should never have occurred as the truck was within 40 feet of the stairwell and the first three stories do not add long-carry charges according to their contract. The delivery arrived nearly two weeks later than promised, which is a long time to sleep on an air mattress. I processed the claim almost immediately after my items arrived at their destination. Pictures were taken with the delivery men still here, and all damages were signed off on. The claims department informed me of the formal process for entering a claim and I followed their protocol. I filled out their presentation of loss form and returned it with all of the necessary documentation including photos. Nearly a month after initializing my claim, I inquired with the claims department as to when I should expect a final verdict and whether further evaluations were necessary. I was informed by their claims representative they had up to 120 days to fulfill a claim. I held onto all of my broken items for over 90 days when I finally received a letter in the mail from their claim representative with the audacity to state that my claim had been denied in its entirety. If you want your delivery to take less than 2 weeks to get to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I lived in a furniture-less apartment for 1 ? weeks because apparently when I signed a contract for it to take them 7-10 business days (even though I was initially quoted 5-7 days on the phone), this translated into 14 DAYS. If I had ever in my wildest dreams thought that it would take TWO WEEKS to get my stuff I would have gone with any other company under the sun. When I called repeatedly to see if anything could be done to speed up the process, I was told that indeed my stuff would be arriving the equivalent of 11-12 days but when I called on the 11th day to see where my stuff was, it turned out that they had flat out LIED to me in some lame attempt to appease me and that nothing would actually be there until the 14th day. Learn from my mistake and take your money elsewhere! more

Held my stuff hostage at 9:00 at night until I gave them $400 cash! The driver said it was an additional carry fee and he wouldn't let me refuse even when I asked him multiple times to leave my belongings 75 feet from the truck, or just to take them off the truck. It was the most horrific experience! I never write reviews and I feel so taken advantage of that I never want this to happen to anyone else! I would give them 0 stars if I could. I chose this company initially, because I was really comfortable with their policies and everyone I talked to on the phone was really helpful and I thought I would be able to budget better since they charge by the cubic foot and not by the weight estimate. I really wish I had read some of the reviews on here and listened to them. The driver arrived over 2 hours after me, after a one day, long distance move. This wouldn't have bothered me except I believe he did it because he knew that the office would be closed so I couldn't call to verify the additional charge he was imposing. I was in tears and had to drive around a new city at 9:00 pm searching for an ATM to take out $400 in cash. I feel completely taken advantage of. I was put in an unsafe situation and when I filed a claim with the company, they didn't take any corrective action. I also believe that most of the good reviews on here, the company wrote themselves. That's how slimy they are! more

I chose this company because of the cancer donations, and the responsiveness of the person with whom I spoke over the phone. The movers, while young, were very mature and professional. Words of advice for E-Z Movers, keep doing what you're doing. Buy more trucks so that a customer is not surprised when they don't see the in famous pink trucks. Other customers considering this company, I would say Do it! They're great! more

You need to be really, really careful if considering using this company for a long distance move. Actually, you need to be insane to pick this company! First, you do your own estimate. They charge by cubic foot, so once the packing/loading crew arrives, they may inform at that time that you underestimated. And the price goes up quickly, especially their crazy charges for packing tape and boxes. Everything is based on cubic footage, so you may end paying $700-1,000+ for a couple of hundred dollars worth of tape and boxes. The packing and load crew were nice guys, but very unskilled in moving and spoke little English. Took them about 12 hours to load a small house. Very disorganized and they very obviously expected a large tip in cash which we did not give them (by the way, if you expect us to give them a tip, tell us BEFORE the move instead of giving me a form to sign AFTER pack/load to say they are expecting a 10-15% tip. Just did not have that much cash on me at midnight!!) After we got to our new place, it took us several days and multiple calls/e-mails until we got confirmation of our delivery date. Amanda O. was very helpful in getting us a confirmation on 7/12 of a 7/14 delivery date. The delivery crew showed up on time. Again, they spoke little English and the first order of business was to get my check for the balance and to sign the inventory forms as complete BEFORE they took anything off the truck. It began very obvious that the packing crew either had no clue what they were doing or did a bad shop on purpose. While the furniture made it okay (minus several broken lamps), most of our household goods were dumped into wardrobe boxes. Including all of our hanging clothes (dresses, suites, dress shirts). All of which are wrinkled and dirty. It is going to take at least a week to unpack and assess damages and it was heartbreaking to see our personal items treated like trash. I have been assured by Amanda and Caroline that our damage claim will be processed in due course and per our contract, which probably means I will get $20 after months of paperwork and phone calls. Of course, they have no local rep to assess the damages, so it will be our word against theirs, and we will lose. Actually, we lost the moment we signed up with this company, and the hits keep coming. As a final insult, the crew refused to set up our entertainment center (gee, they took it apart!) or to pack out any of their trash. "Not in your contract" was the one English phrase they were very good at. So, we made a bad choice with this group. Amanda O tries hard, but what can she do when the crews break and/or trash your stuff? She must have the worst job in the world - professional apologist for the world's worst moving company. I was referred to EZ Movers from a friend who saw them at the Breast Cancer Race in Chicago. I called them and they gave me a big discount for being a senior and told me they would take good care of my things. I relocated from Chicago to California. I've never done a long distance move so I was very nervous to pick movers. EZ Movers were GREAT! They arrived on-time and had me packed up in one hour. The truck wasn't supposed to arrive for 7-10 days. To my surprise they arrived in 5 days. They moved my stuff in about an hour and I didn't even hear them! They were great!!! I was recently lost my job and had to move back to my parents place. After extensive research, E-Z Movers provided the best price for there moving services. The sales rep I spoke with provided me with a basic plan for getting my stuff to my parents. They even included some boxes too! Pros: Very efficient Cons: Nothing more
