Broken Frames from Shopko Optical 3/12/2014

I was very pleased that Eyemart carried my son's frames which Sho\pko Optical stated they no longer could get.So, I paid about $85.00 versus getting him new glasses. I did wait 1/2 hour to get him seen. I noticed that once a clerk was done, the went behind the desk and spent a long time there. I'm not sure if this is because they were slow or had to prep for the glasses to be made on site. more

NEVER again! 1/20/2014

First, I need to state the docs in Eyemart Express are very different than the Eyemart people. The docs know what they're doing, and actually have a clue. The Eyemart folks.....you have GOT to be kidding me. They appear to have taken a course in "ignore and scam". I waited for probably 45 minutes and was literally walking towards the door when someone FINALLY called me. Lucky me. The girl was easily the ditziest, most clueless person I've ever dealt with where glasses are concerned. She did not explain what she was ordering/writing, she did not explain what I as actually buying. When I asked, she acted as if I were requesting an internal organ. She was condescending and appeared to lack any but the most rote knowledge of what she was doing. She was very unprofessional and I completely lost all confidence when she mispronounced the word "peripheral" at least 3 times. Seriously......there is a significant coaching opportunity here. Unfortunately, it comes at the expense of this customer and my family of 5...all of whom wear either contacts or glasses. more

Eyemart Express Madison East 1/7/2013

My wife and I went to select glasses. The clerk, in an empty store, still took 6-8 minutes to come and acknowledge us. Then she put us through a condecending review of our insurance carrier. After confirming our eligibility, she continued to be less than pleasant. What we learned is that if you have a prescription variation in each eye, their low prices are just a come-on. The low price leader is ONLY for people who could actually get by with magnifiers from k-Mart for $9.99. Stay away from these people. ShopKo was a better experience. more

The Colerain Ave Store in Cincinnati Ohio gives terrible service 4/17/2012

I went there to get glasses and was completely ignored for the first 45 minutes I was there. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since there were about 5 other customers. When it finally was my turn, I was finally seen as a customer only to be told that the four people who came in behind me would be waited on first as they were picking up their glasses. Just look around and we will be with you shortly. Then they came out and waited on someone who came in about 30minutes after me. If their glasses are as bad as the customer service I am glad I didn't get them there. Beware of all their claims. more

Horrid experience(s) 8/14/2010

I made four 70 mile round trips to the Ashwaubenon Eyemart. The exam side was easy, Getting glasses? Nightmare. My old glasses were purchased there a long time ago but are not right anymore and very scratched. I finally have Ins. to cover new ones. The first lenses were cloudy with thousands of micro scratches. I didn't notice until I returned home because I wouldn't drive 35 miles with new glasses. took em back and was told I couldn't get the replacement lenses until the next day. (so much for one hour). I went back the next day (trip 3) and they said they weren't ready as they has breakage overnight. I got upset and someone shot out of an office door and said they would mail them that day. A week later no glasses. When I inquired they informed me they were there ready to be picked up. I again got upset so they again said they would mail them. When they came the bifocal lines were right in the middle of my line of sight. So I was called and told to ask specifically for Scott. When I was finally able to make the long drive again, (4th trip) I was ignored by a woman (who wasn't busy) when I was asking for this Scott. On the 4th try she finally looked at me and said he would be in later. I waited the time she told me by going to a mall nearby. When I returned I used their impersonal sign in and sat and waited for an extremely long time and he never showed and no one acknowledged me. I am sure they just wanted rid of me. So I will now be stuck with my scratched, ill fitting, wrong prescription glasses for another 10 months while waiting for the time my ins. will pay again. more

Not Happy 5/15/2009

I don't know who hires the employees in the opt. office, but they all need training in customer satisfaction, do they know they are there for the CUSTOMERS?? Very rude and unprofessional. Employees over in the frames dept. have always been wonderful. more

I am sorry to say that I was very disappointment with the ethical part of the so called manager or whatever he wants to be called. I visited the eyemart express in Corpus Christi, Texas with a prescription from a VSP doctor who issued me some contacts after trying them for some months decided they were not for me so decided to head on to eyemart. NO way will I return. I was there on March 21,2007 at 9:00am , return to pickup my glasses at 4:20pm. When I asked to pick up my glasses the so call director told me they were not ready I would have to wait. I told him I had groceries and ice cream and could not wait. If front of about 20 people he said "Who would buy ice cream and come to the Doctor's office. As my 11 yr.old was with me I felt this is not a situation I would like for my son to see so I kindly asked can I pick them up tomorrow, he said OH YES. Next morning I went the gentlemen was very professional and gave me my glasses. In the first place I was not there to see a doctor I had a prescription from a doctor whom I had already seen. NEVER again will I be back. He needs a little refresher course on management. I will not recommend anybody there. Thanks God for the personnel that know how to handle customer care. If it weren't for customers he himself would not have a job. I paid for my glasses cash with my debit card which automatic withdraws from my bank. He is such and idiot and he calls himself a director or manager. Good Luck! more

It was time for the annual eye exam. I was hearing good things about "EyeMart", so we tried them. I was very impressed with the staff and the doctor who took care of us. They are down to earth and professional. Great sense of humor too. We didn't have any waiting time at all, which was very nice for a change. They had all the right questions to ask to make sure your eyes were in check and to catch any problems in time. The doctor was very pleasant and it didn't seem like it was a "ok, you have eyes, next" sort of visit. He took his time and answered all of my questions. After the exams we headed over to where the eye glasses were. The staff on that side was just as pleasant and knew what they were talking about. The eye glass selection was very good and their prices I don't think could be beat. They really seemed to care and we are going back next week. They want to make sure our contacts are comfortable and correct. We will go back to Eyemart again. more
