Great food, stylish setting 3/26/2006

Donna's has a wonderful menu for lunch and dinner. Just about everything is delicious and consistently good. My favorites are the chicken salad sandwich and the chicken cous-cous salad with pistachios and raisins--yum! The restaurant itself is stylish and charming but can be very busy at peak times. Service is pleasant and generally quick. more

great local chain 3/23/2006

Donna's is a great little restaurant in Mt. Vernon. The salads and sandwiches are always excellent. The sandwiches come with roasted red and sweet potatoes, which are a nice, healthier alternative to the french fries or chips that usually come with sandwiches. The coffee is good, and they serve beer and wine here. The hot entrees are usually pretty good, but i usually stick to the sandwiches, which are always great. more

A classy coffee establishment 2/1/2006

Donna's is a great little coffee chain in Baltimore and the surrounding areas. They serve a variety of espresso drinks, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their breakfast menu is particularly nice--including a very tasty breakfast burrito and a vegetable fritatta. Their atmosphere is generally modern--exposed brick walls and interesting art work is the norm. Service is good and prices are reasonable. more

A Baltimore Favorite 8/15/2005

This place offers food and coffee. The food, usually, is really good. I tend to really get into their salads; my favorite is the Granny Smith Apple Gorgonzola with Raspberry Vinaigrette. The also offer a multitude of other interesting salads as well as pastas, little pizza things, and sandwiches. The best thing about their sandwiches is that they are served on real bread—French in design, which means for those not used to this, they say it’s too chewy, but for me, it is a wonderful texture with honest taste. Yes, bread can be tasty. Regarding the coffee, I tend to stay away from their espresso bar; it’s too bitter and I don’t think the employees get the best training on how to make their drinks. The regular drip coffee is quite good though as well as their large selection of hot teas. more
