Dolce Baby

Such a great place to go if you want help designing an entire room for your child. I was so overwhelmed trying to piece together which bumper with which sheet, or what color finish for the furniture to coem in. They DID IT ALL- with ease I might add.\r \r They seriously had such a wide selection of furniture (both baby and regular children's) as well as fabrics for any taste. I personally love the bohemian/ anthropologie look and the girl that worked there was able to put it all together for me EXACTLY how I wanted it, but I would have never even thought twice about some of the fabrics she pulled and they looked incredible together. I get compliments all of the time on how unique and well put together the room looks!\r \r Overall, such a wonderful experience! Great customer service from the moment I walked through the door. The girl sat down on the floor pulled fabrics and pieced them together on a crib so I could get an idea of what it all would look like. She even stayed 45 minutes after they closed because I couldn't make up my mind (I didn't realize they had closed!) Once I placed my order they called me or emailed me bi-weekly with some sort of update on the order and even when it was a week or two later than expected, they \r \r All of that to say, Im really shocked at the review below! To me it sounds like they were offering everything they could do to help a situation that was not their fault but the fault of vendors' delays and shipping carelessness? I worked at Z Gallery for a bit when I lived in Dallas and I know that when a piece shows up damaged, there is little to nothing a store can do as it is the shipping company or vendor's responsibily to check packaging and loading/unloading. I think if anything you should have called the vendor themselves/ shipping company and received your money back through them. Water under the bridge though...\r \r I LOVE DOLCE BABY, and will definitely be back when I do my older child's room!\r \r more

I have purchased everything from clothes to wall art to lamps for my son and daughter as well as gifts for friends at this store and just love it! The quality of their stuff is top-notch, and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Even my mother, who lives in Dallas with all its great stores, loves to come specifically to this store in Austin to shop for exquisite baby items. I highly recommend it! more

I will preface this by stating that I purchase most of my child's clothes from boutiques in town and love every one of them (Picket fences, Haute Baby, etc) I purchased an expensive Crib (over 2k) that was set to be delivered a month before my child's birth. The Crib came 1 wk before my child's birth. The Crib came in with major damage to the box and part of the wood showing with large scratch marks. Realize that I had to call them multiple times concerning the delay and the response was, ""its custom, it sometime takes longer"" I was told to take the crib home and they will send someone over to fix it. I was floored by this. I purchased a 2k Crib and they wanted to send a local guy over to fix the wood? No refund, no apologies. I refused to take the crib home and asked for a refund so I can purchase another crib that would be available for my child's birth. They would not refund me and stated they would reorder another one that would take another 8-12 wks. SO my choice was to either reorder or take the broken crib which they would have a local guy come and paint it. OK... great choices. I am glad I had American express b/c they reversed the charges but I decided to take the replacement Crib as I did not want to deal with the stress of buying another crib with a newborn. It shocks me that a high end store would treat a customer this poorly. They could have sold the crib to another person and would have had a great customer for life. They would have made many times over from me if they just accepted their mistake. But they kept harping on the fact that ""Customized cribs are not refundable"". You have to be kidding me as this was totally their Fault. I will never step foot in their store and I would caution everyone to be aware of buying anything custom from their store. If the piece of furniture comes damaged, you are stuck. Atleast use American Express as they will reverse the charges. Take Pictures of the damage as I did. Again, Beware. I ordered my Bratt Decor crib from Dolce Baby even though I am located in NYC and there were many options of places to order the crib from in the city. When my mom, sister-in-law & I were in the store, we feel in love with all the merchandise. We had to rip ourselves out of the store and resist buying one of everything we saw! And everyone we have dealt with at the store has been more than nice! Cat has been helping me with the crib order and she has been extremely responsive and friendly in helping me get everything arranged. We literally decided to order the crib through Dolce Baby because of how great everyone was to work with and how helpful they are. I am excited to visit the store again while I am in town visiting my family and will be sending all of my fellow UT alum friends to shop there for their little ones! Pros: Everything! Super friendly & helpful staff & great gifts Cons: I live in NYC, so I can only visit when I am in town! more

I bought all of my baby girl's bedding there. Then I went back and bought her chandelier, and accesories. They treated me like a friend, made great suggestions and helped me with everything I needed. Their selection for boys and girls is great and if they don't have it they'll get it. I also love the clothing they get in the store. I go there for all my special occasion clothes. more
