If you enjoy the company of a friend who is ethnicity is African American, do not stop at this restaurant. I attempted to receive service at this "restaurant" but unfortunately the workers' ideas were before the idea of segregation. Obviously some people believe that the idea of racism is alive and well. I put myself above the level of this behavior but i guess some people believe that the color of someone's skin is more important than money. My friend who just happened to be African American, attended this restaurant and they would not give her her food. WOW! I'm really glad that some people like me are less primative in their beliefs than the causation people serving at this offensive restaurant. more

Doc's is a pretty popular place; it always has a crowded parking lot. The food is pretty good though. They have a variety of seafood, and it's reasonably priced. I always end up getting the shrimp because I liked to mix my own cocktail sauce with the horseradish and catsup provided on the table. I'm always told by friends that Doc's will cook your catch for you, but I've never tried having that done. I think that would be sort of fun/different. Doc's has fresh seafood; they obviously have the location for it (haha). Doc's is a pretty nice sized restaurant, so don't let the crowd of cars in the parking lot scare you away. They can seat at least 130 people. They also serve alcohol (if anyone wanted to know), and yes, they do take credit cards. If in the area, they'll worth a visit. :-) more

Doc's is fabulous! 4/7/2006

Doc's is one of those restaurants that out of towners and locals alike go to in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores (the original is in Orange Beach). The food is awesome and reasonably priced. (All seafood, all mostly fried). The food tastes super fresh like it was caught that day, as opposed to some of the places around there. When we went to the Orange Beach location in the off season, it was really smoky. They didn't have a separate smoking and non smoking section. I didn't like that too much, but it was tolerable. The Gulf Shores location has a really good buffet on certain nights. more

The Docks has some of the freshest fish around. They come right off the boats. They'll even cook your catch for you and serve to you. They are a little high, but the food is great. You even get to make your own cocktail sauce at the table. They usually have some sort of catch of the day and it's always good. The shrimp is really good. It's just a nice place and it's real clean. The people that work there are great and I've never had any sort of problem there. more
