Depew Appliance Sales & Service

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The owner is insane. They flooded my kitchen from a repair and we were asking them to accommodate our schedule to come survey the damage. The owner completely lost it. He lost control screaming at my husband said he didn't care about us, about the problem and nobody dictates to him when they will come to our house. He said he didn't care if we were home or not. He was completely out of control. He is racist against hispanics and should not be in business. From my conversation with the other person who works there it seems they are afraid of him. more

Depew Appliance and Service Inc is the worst company when it comes to customer service and customer relations. And especially Mr. Michael Depew the manager and owner is the rudest and unprofessional person Ive ever met. He discriminates and doesnt care about your satisfaction as customer.. All Mr. Depew thinks is profit profit!! When he talked down to customers he doesnt take second thoughts.. After complaining my dissatisfaction on the service rendered on my washing machine which I believe their technician Steve misdiagnosed it ..Mr. Michael Depew's reponse is "We have done our job, you are on your own now. We dont need your business. Good Bye!!" I was so surprised with his attitude so I asked "Is this how you treat your customers?" he answered me "This is how I treat you".. I felt discriminated and insulted by his unprofessionalism. I couldnt imagine an owner of a business treating a customer like that.. Before I left I told him that I will report him to Whirpool since they referred Depew to me and I would also report to the Texas Atty General. He just said "Go ahead do what you want to do. We have nothing to do with you" I couldnt believe we have a business owner like this here in Austin TX. They ripped me off $81.19 plus the part I purchased which they misdiagnosed. $85. Mr Michael Depew's company is a scam!! Would you still support a company like this??? more

I am typing this with my jaw on the ground. I call and set an appointment to have my elderly aunts refridgerator looked at. On the morning of the appointment I called to give them the make and model to make the job alittle easier as I didnt have that information when I initially set the appointment. The man that answered demanded information to find my appointment, was rude and interrupted my every word and placed me on hold several times. He became increasingly angry when the name and address wasn't helping him find the information needed. I was TRYING to help him by offering information to help him but his refused to hear me. When I asked him to stop interrupting me he told me they were real busy and didnt have time to listen to me and to just give me the "damn phone number" to find the appointment. I told him that it isn't my fault he can't find the appointment with the name and address and he could not talk to me like that. He said I was acting like a real B_____ and demanded I just shut up and give him the phone number or go somewhere else that they would not take our service call. I told him I was canceling the appointment and calling ABA. He then replied with, "go ahead As _ h_ _ _ _." I already feel better with ABA. They waive the service fee if a repair needs to be done. Depew charged $75 just to look at the appliance. As I was setting my appointment with ABA I received a call to my home from a resonable Depew employee but by this time I was only interested in telling him how pooly the other 'gentlemen' has spoken to me and informed him that I would be in contact with the owner. He was kind but equally unapologetic. more

I found Depew on the frigidaire website when I did a search for service for my dishwasher. I have passed them on Burnet road several times, so the name was familiar. They answered on the second ring and the man was very friendly. He said he would be able to send a repairman out this afternoon! Within 30 minutes, I had a phone call. The repairman was on his way. An hour later, the repair work was done (just a clog) and he was long gone. My dishwasher is running as I type this. I try to use local businesses as much as possible. It is risky, because not every local business really tries all that hard. But Depew DID impress me with extremely prompt, professional service. One note: I forgot to ask for a price quote, and a price to fix it was not given to me. That is my own fault for not thinking to ask, but it obviously wasn't in the forefront of the repairman's mind either. The price to fix the dishwasher was not unreasonable, but you should think to ask first, just in case. more

The salespeople were courteous and very responsive with subsequent phone calls, especially Amy! When there was a problem with my dishwasher, the repairmen were courteous and experienced. Mike Depew stands by his products and goes out of his way to accommodate customers. I wouldn't buy from anyone else. If you want a quality product backed by excellent customer service, this is the only place you need to go. more

Don't but your appliances from a Big Box--shop local and support small businesses!!! Depew Appliance has been in the business for generations. I can't say enough positive things about Depew Appliance. They are conveniently located on Burnet Road. They have an excellent selection, including Whirlpool! They're friendly! I purchased a dishwasher from them. more

I haven ever really shopped at an appliance store before but I had a great experience. They had so much to offer. more

I don't know what the deal is with the bad reviews. Competitors maybe? I called them because my husband had a great experience and recommended to use them again. (My husband had purchased his washer, dryer, and other appliances here years ago before I entered the picture, and he had a great experience both with the purchase and with service repair calls.) I also had a great experience with them just over the phone. I called to enquire on the brands they carry and a man answered after only two rings. He was VERY polite and even remained patiently on the phone with me for 10 minutes answering all my questions and explaining the pros and cons of all the brands they carry! He was knowledgable, honest, and patient, qualities which are rare to find these days! I will definitely buy our new washer and dryer from Depew. more
