Best

This was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten!!! I highly recommend every steak lover tries this restaurant. Pros: Excellant food, Excellant service, No long wait Cons:...

Worst

Good Food Good Value 3/30/2010

We have eaten here many times, We continue to come back because of their great food and service Pros: Food and Service more

Excellent food & service 2/5/2009

My family has eaten at D.C.'s several times a year since it opened. We have seen no decline in the quality or quantity of the food or service. Our only regret is that the formerly delicious sliced bread has been replaced by ordinary rolls. Since the remodel, we have seen an increase in the sound level but that is on a par with other popular & crowded restaurants. The steaks and other selections of entrees have always been prepared to our tastes, from rare to well done. The service has been attentive and prompt (ice tea refills without asking, coffee cups never empty). I love the Mac & Cheese, steak salad and steaks. Pros: Free parking, reservations honored on time, service, food Cons: Noise level sometimes more

Steakhouse that can't prepare steak 1/4/2009

After looking at the Overpriced wine list we decided to order 2 mojitos. Our drinks arrived and both tasted as though no alcohol had been added, all either of us could taste was club soda and mint. Then we ordered steaks and both steaks were to be medium. We had to repeat ourselves several times to be heard by the waiter. The waiter was so curt and undertrained he failed to introduce himself or ask if we wanted any steak sauce in an establishment that calls itself a ""Grill"". My steak was very rare when it arrived. I have ordered steak before in other establishments and Medium is generally defined as pink in the center. My boyfriend's steak was so heavily salted he could not taste anything else. My boyfriend flagged down a waiter and I showed him my steak and he took it to be re-cooked. The waiter came to out , placed my plate on the table and walked away. The plate was hot and there was more gravy on the steak and upon cutting into it again, it was still raw and bloody. A waiter was flagged down again and my steak was taken back again. It came back a few minutes later, this time the waiter stayed until I cut into the steak and it was still red and bloody throughout. He asked if I wanted it re-heated again but by this time my boyfriend was finished eating and I was fustrated so I said no. The waiter offered to comp the steak and then left. Upon leaving, the woman working at the front asked us how our meal was and we both told her about the steaks, her response: We have been busier than normal tonight and maybe the kitchen was a bit overwelmed. She invited us to come back. We won't. We have had better service and food at Applebee's. Pros: Warm dinner rolls Cons: Loud, bad service, bad steaks more

Not the old DC Grill, this place has really gone downhill 12/19/2008

The editorial review is very old and now mostly wrong. The beach theme restrooms are long gone and with the remodel and new decor the service and food got much worse. Don't waste your time on this place, there are much better choices in the area. Pros: it is on the plateau Cons: noisy, tables too crowded, expensive and the food isn't very good. Reservations don't seem to matter more

Brunch is better than dinner 7/25/2007

Everytime my husband & I have dined at DC's, the service has been marginal at best. Once we arrived after normal dinner hours (I think it was around 9 pm) and the hostess actually made this dramatic movement to look at her watch before seating us (she also looked annoyed that we had interrupted her conversation with one of the servers). Once we were seated we were basically ignored for many minutes. We've had better luck at brunch, when you are not so dependent on the service and you can help yourself to the buffet. I have no complaints about the food. One reviewer said it was like Sizzler -- I think it's better than that and comparable to Coho Cafe. The management has been friendly -- the staff just needs some customer service training! more

lost its luster 12/13/2006

DC used to be a great place, particularly in the middle of the suburbs. Recently both the food and the service have been mediocre at best - to the point of my steak being used as an example of what not to serve. Service in the restaraunt is not good - a reason the bar is ALWAYS full. Stick to the bar and the better service. Jak's in Issaquah would have to have the best steaks/food vs. DC I am sorry to say. Pros: location if you are in the 'burbs, good bar and attentive bar staff Cons: poor dining room service, expensive food for the quality more

Great Food, Great Selection 11/17/2006

Go to Costco and buy a $100 certificate for $80. It's great food and reasonable with the voucher from Costco. Love eating outside in the summer. more

A Hidden Treat for Plateau-dwellers 9/26/2006

My wife and I recently stopped in for dinner at DC's after returning from the Street of Dreams. Our shuttle driver recommended the place to us, and I couldn't be more thankful to her for the recommendation. Having lived on the plateau for a number of years now we we're surprised that we hadn't discovered it up until now. This may be do largely in part to the fact that the restaurant is located on the ground level of the Saffron condo/shopping complex and doesn't exactly stand out as a restaurant. Pros: Ambience, Service, Selection Cons: Dinners only, moderately pricey more

Marginal food - comparable to Sizzler 8/24/2006

My husband & I went here for his birthday and I mentioned it was his b-day to the waitress. She said she would do ""a little something"" for him. After dinner she brought over a huge chocolate cake with ice cream and charged me $15 for that ""little something"". I said something to her because the cake was as much as my petite steak. She had to get the manager over and it was a big ordeal. Needless to say, I ended up paying for it. more

Over Rated 3/7/2004

Our experience at DC's was disappointing. Service was very mediocre and the steak was not much better. We originally tried to get into Jak's, but the wait was 2 hours. The wait would have been worth it, DC's did not compare. Better food, service, and value at Jak's. The tables near the bar are too close, ask to sit in main seating area if you decide to try DC's. Pros: Good parking, min. wait for table Cons: , Service so-so more

Good for the Eastside 3/7/2004

DC's has brought fine dining to the plateau, although it comes at a price. When they first opened, the meals were inclusive of salads, now they are a la carte, and the salads are extra. Also, the prices have gone up quite dramatically in the past year. The prices are not too high yet, so hopefully they will stop the price hikes that seem to happen every few months or so. That being said, the steaks are very good. The DC's Bleu Cheese salad is wonderful and desserts are great. The service is alway good. The deck is a great place to dine in the summer. more

Nice Suburban Steakhouse 9/27/2003

We dropped in at 4:30 and ordered two appetizers ( calamari and Kalbi beef) and two blue cheese salads. Our waiter Dante was friendly but not overly chatty, around but not hovering. The salads were tasty. Good-sized chunks of blue cheese, a slightly creamy dressing, fresh crispy romaine. The Kalbi appetizer was delicious! The meat was tender and cooked just right. The calamari was a no better than an average bar appetizer. Deep fried, with too much breading. A fork stabbed into the dish usually always picked up empty breading -- sometimes only that. We ordered a fish n' chips from the kid's menu for our son. It was far better than the calamari, at half the price. Lightly breaded, great texture. No, it's not Daniel's or the Met. But it's good food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. And moderately kid friendly. Pros: Only steak for miles, nice atmosphere Cons: A tad pricey.. more

Where's the ribs? 1/19/2003

This is one of our favorite restaurants because they have great food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, they recently revamped the menu and deleted the ribs. My boyfriend usually orders either the ribs or steak so we were very disappointed. That said, the ceasars are pretty tasty as are the scampi prawns and filet mignon. They also have great patio seating in the summer. A minor note: avoid Roger the server; he's rude, disdainful, and balks if you use a coupon. Pros: steak, scampi prawns, atmosphere Cons: got rid of the ribs, rude waiter more

A good night out 1/13/2003

Made reservations same day and was seated promptly when arriving on time. Food was delicious, and service was outstanding.... they let us turn our dinner into a 4 hour event without any complaint! The blackened prime rib was the toast of the night, and the featured shrimp cocktail was excellent. Go on your birthday, and get a free lobster dinner (as my friend did, the very next night!) Pros: outdoor available Cons: pricy, small bar area more

just another sizzler 1/5/2003

There was really nothing special about DC's other than it was close to my home. The service was ok but the menu was not very diverse. They certainly are not in the same league with Daniels Broiler, The Met or El Gaucho's. I would place them slighty above Sizzler. We actually had fliet cut in half and grilled that way to 'speed' up our order so that things would arrive at the same time. Damn shame what they did to that poor piece of meat! Pros: close Cons: bad food, bad menu more

Yuck 12/4/2002

The steaks will hold you over until you can get to Jak's but don't even dare to try the seafood. I must admit the manager was fantastic when my date had a complaint and he only charged us for the wine. more

Salty's restraurant 12/3/2002

I must have been sick because everything was way too salty. Thankfully the vegetables were cooked just right. I tried the salmon cesear but it was not the right combination. Too vinegry and salty. They replaced it with a lovey steak but that had too much salt too. I liked the interior of the place. It is intimate yet open. The waiter came by at all the right times. I will try again with my children before I move off this crowded plateau. more

EXCELLANT!! 9/28/2002

This was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten!!! I highly recommend every steak lover tries this restaurant. Pros: Excellant food, Excellant service, No long wait Cons: A tad expensive, parking not so great more

Best in the West... I mean East 8/22/2002

Incredible food! Delicious specials! I'm there multiple times a week. A nice escape from the city life with great wines and the best service around. Robert Frost, G.M. keeps a great hold on his employees and knows how to treat his guests right! Even JaK's couldn't compare to the great menu that DC's provides, the only reason they're rated higher is because they've been around longer. Just give DC's some time, you'll finally realize that they're the best! Pros: Not Downtown, GREAT Service, Wonderful Food Cons: Not open before 4:00p more

TASTY EATS/GREAT SPECIALS 8/8/2002

I have been to DC's a few times and the meals have always been excellent. The steaks are prepared as ordered & I especially love the variety of specials they provide. The specials keep the dining experience fresh and new. The servers are always prepared and with a ready smile. more
