Hate the service here! 7/31/2011

I am a pissed off at Cool Breeze (and if there was an option I will give them a 0 star). The new owners have no sense of service and do not know how to respect and honor their customers. In the owners own words, ""I dont care and its ok"", to not show their customers any respect and whether they eat here or not. In truth, the new owners have no sense of running their business. The food is less than average and many times stale. Please consider other chat places like HOT BREADS in CARY where you will get less variety but quality food and extremely good service. more

OK food, but would not take Groupon 4/2/2011

I enjoy taking my son out to eat on the weekends, and when, just yesterday, there was a Groupon for this restaurant I bought it right away. We both love Indian food and were up to trying a vegetarian restaurant. Well, when we got there, right by the register was a sign saying they would not accept the Groupon. What the...I just bought it yesterday! The woman behind the counter said they had a new manager and he wouldn't accept it. I don't know why, with all the other Indian restaurants around there, we still decided to eat there. I guess my hunger clouded my judgement. Anyway, the food was fine, very spicy, but I would never go back there. Plenty of other choices around. more

Great Chat experience !!! 9/7/2009

After I moved from SF bay area, I found a freshly prepared Chat restaurant . I loved the Dahi Batat Puri and Bombay Chutney Sanwitch. Sev batat puri I couldn't stop myself repeating the order. The service was excellent, the guys made chat right infront of you . Cool !!\r \r I was amazed that they do have South Indian menu too. FPerfect place for Fresh and Vegetarian Chat and Chai ! Pros: Freshly made Fast Food and fast service !!! Cons: Couldn't find any more

worst place for indian food in triangle area 4/26/2009

This used to be a reasonable hangout place for snacks and chat but not any more ... uncooked , stale , pricy food served in less quantity made it a perfect place to avoid in the map ... They claim that it is an Indian food but it didn't taste even to the mediocre level of indian food.. Very neglected way of preparing food ... Pros: -------------------none----------------- Cons: uncooked , stale , pricy food served in less quantity more

Real Mumbai style Chaat resaurant 12/18/2008

cool Breeze is my all time favorite Indian Fastfood resturant. I have introduced many people to this restaurant by taking them to Cool Breeze, even people who said they would never eat Indian Food have agreed the food is delicious and have found themselves going back. The decor is average although I wish they had a TV with the cool Bollywood channels like I see in other Indian resturants, they make great background music and enhance the atmosphere. The owner/host is very gracious and always happy to see you.\r The Dosa and Bisibilla bhat was wonderful to try. Gunpowder Dosa was real deal these days. Pros: Everything. more

The best Indian in the area 12/15/2008

Cool Breeze has a lunch buffet every day now. I go there often and have never been disappointed. The offerings are always freshly cooked, with a wonderful variety of dishes and flavors, along with unusually satisfying Indian breads and a warm, soothing dessert nearly every day. The cooking is good far beyond the reasonable price, and the food just looks like it has more life in it, more freshness about it, than all the other buffets I've tried. Many Indian people take their lunch there; from that I gather that the food is not only good, but also authentic. Very important for me is that Cool Breeze is pure vegetarian: no meat is prepared in their kitchen. Cool Breeze has a warm, friendly and upbeat feel, and the staff are particularly welcoming and helpful.\r \r There is more costly fare and fancier decor at some other restaurants, but the price at those places is not justified compared to what Cool Breeze offers on buffet. And remember, you're not buying the wallcoverings or the chairs, but you take the food home with you?and in the most intimate manner. I am happy to recommend Cool Breeze without a hitch. Pros: satisfying and authentic, pure vegetarian, great staff, wonderful cook Cons: If there is one, it could only be the plain, simple decor more

Nice place to get some real Indian Style Fast Food ! 5/2/2008

This place is an nice and busy fast food restaurant. We really enjoyed the food. The guy in the front explianed to me that they are introducing South Indian food soon. When someone enters to this place , one shouldn't expect as usual decor like other restaurant. This is a nice fast food style restaurant.\r The service was good and we enjoyed the Parathas.\r I would always recommend !!!!!!! more

Stale Chaat, Long wait and no ambience 3/13/2008

I used to visit this place cause I love Bombay Chaat. However on our last visit I realized that they had started using stale ingredients. The quantity is not enough for the prices they charge. They try to sting on the quality and quantity of ingredients. I guess this place continues to thrive because there are no better alternatives for Chaat in the triangle. I have stopped going ever since and do not recommend it. Cons: Stale food more

Great fast food 11/19/2006

The place is small, noisy- and very busy! Upon entering you walk to the counter to place your order. The menu is quite descriptive so you won't feel intimidated by the selections- each item is enough for a medium-sized meal; order two if you are quite hungry. Keep in mind that this is the McDonald's of Indian food. It's fast, cheap, but there's little to no service. Once you place your order, grab a paper cup and a pitcher of water and find a table. When your food is ready they'll call out your name. If you need anything else during the meal (another dish, a custom-made drink, etc.) just go up and ask for it- they'll add it to your order and call you when it's ready. If you need a soda from the case just get it and let them know you had one when you go to pay the bill. Pretty simple, straight-forward and easy to do- just don't expect a sit-down full-service restaurant. That's not even what they're trying to be! The food was quite fresh and flavorful. While not as savory as northern or southern indian food, these Bombay dishes are very satisfying. Hints of tamarind and other sweet flavors permeate nearly every dish. I would recommend their sampler platter- it is more than enough for 2 people and lets you get a taste of 5 or so dishes. For the unfamiliar- don't over-order as these dishes will not travel well for a later meal- they'll get soggy. Pros: Cheap, fresh, flavorful, unique Cons: Noisy, crowded more

A unique place where Indians can feel especially at home 11/18/2006

It is such a treat to have these Indian snacks and sandwiches made up for us. In addition they have dishes such as paneer and paratha in generous serving size. \r I don't think it is such a big deal to get my own water or quickly clean off a table. I let my kids have a chocolate ice cream while the adults enjoy bhel, sev puri etc. We had to ask for low spice so our mouths didn't feel totally on fire, but a mango milkshake can cure that!\r I admire these people for going out on a limb and trying to bring a different type of restaurant to this community. With keeping their overhead low, they have a better chance of surviving and serving us for years to come. When our relatives come into town, they ask to go to this place! Pros: Informal setting, can go with kids. Fills you up when you want Indian but not greasy! Choose a couple snacks and share. Cons: If you want a table, don't go at peak times. more

I used to be a regular, now I never go there. 3/1/2006

The service was bad: slow, inattentive. Sometimes it just takes too long. A 10-min. dish takes close to an hour and even then the order gets messed up. The food was bad: putting less of good stuff, more of cheap stuff to make a dish look full. Sometimes they don't even have the water available. A lot of times they run to buy groceries as the order is placed, causing unusually long delays. The orders were messed up: they are biting more than they can chew and that leads to them messing up orders or taste preferences (making things hot when asked to make mild) The tables are not spaced well to allow comfortable, peaceful dining experience Noisy: the blender to make the shakes runs right in the front area where customers sit Professionalism: politeness can make up for some language barrier, but even that is missing. Pros: none, none, none Cons: bad service, bad food, bad management more

Indian 'n Ice Cream 11/20/2005

When I went here, I'd never had Indian before. I was in for a treat! I asked the extremely pleasant young woman running the front part of the resturant if she could possibly assist me in choosing. After a few communication glytches, we settled on her favorites and they were YUMMY! The ice cream left something to be desired as my ""oreo shake"" was extremely watery. A 10 on the Indian Cuisine, a 4 on the Ice Cream. Pros: Diverse Clientelle, Extremely Cheap, Delicious Indian Cons: Low-Quality Ice Cream, Difficult to Find, Language Barrier more

Great Place to get Indian Chaat !!! 11/5/2005

Great food though there were lot of people , the food was good and service was also great. Water and beverage was kept for self service. Lots of variety of chaat and authentic Bombay taste. Nice place for hangout and have fun. Should try Samosa Chaat !! and Aloo Paratha !!! Pros: Service, TAste more

exotic & delicious Indian chaat 8/11/2005

Going to Cool Breeze is like a quick journey to India. Chaat is to India as tapas is to Spain. The menus describe the dishes. The helpful owner warned me not to order two combo plates for two people ... that would have fed five! Step up to the icecream counter, place your order, and sit back to watch Hindi soap operas while your food is made to order. A great introduction would be the Geet Bazar chaat combo plate. Spicy, colorful, FUN Indian snack food. Don't miss the dahi batata puri -- shaped like donut holes but crispy and filled with yogurt & two contrasting chutneys. They make delicious mango icecream, too. The reviewers who didn't like the service just don't get it -- it's like complaining about the service at a Baskin Robbins. This is the Angus Barn or McDonalds. Put yourself on Mumbai time and enjoy! Pros: unusual food, beautiful food, exotic more

service was very bad 6/25/2005

food is good, but that does not compansate for bad service. If you have not visited this place don't feel bad, Not worth wasting your money on. The person who was there was not ready to give me a glass of water, though she was not doing anything. The service was very very slow. The team have to get a '101 good service hand book'. plz improve your service or loose customers. like me. Pros: badservice, badservice, very very bad servic Cons: badservice, badservice, badservice more

BAAAAD SERVICE!!!! 12/12/2004

Extremely bad service. Travelled from out of town to try the place out. The order was totally messed up.... staff did not do anything to remake the order...PLUS CHARGED me for it at the end. PATHETIC service...will NEVER go back!!!! Pros: slice of india more
