This place rocks! 5/19/2010

Karrie is the best bartender ever! Those of u with nasty reviews buzz off. I love thois place. Wouldn't go anywhere else. If u don't like it don't go but don't ruin it for the rest of us. The atmosphere is perfect for me. Calm and music and great company. I love this place. Those of u who don't have no sense of community. If u want a homey place where u can b yourself this is the place. 5 stars in my book!! As close to home as your gonna get!! more

rude staff and dirty 6/21/2009

I was mocked by this manager type who sat parked in front of the television, he was actually shouting at the television. I was told by the lady sitting next to me that he was the owners son and he does as he pleases. Wierd....I wonder how much business that clown has driven off? Avoid this place. Pros: free parking Cons: Very rude manager type more

Caution, enter at your own risk 3/24/2008

I typically love hole-in-the wall establishments, but Cookies is by far the worst in all of OKC. The staff is horribly rude and slow. They charge way to much for shots and well drinks. The regulars are very nice, but the co-owner or manager or whatever he is doesn't care about the patrons and would just as soon you leave than remain. Karaoke nights are fun and they have free pool on Sundays. This is not enough to make up for the staff. Be especially aware of Saturday nights. It is a karaoke night and there is a new server lately. She is the slowest person at any bar I have been to so be prepared to wait. Be prepared to wait a very long time. more

Don't come here! 2/20/2008

This bar is terrible. I can't believe they are still in business after the service I received. From the phone call, to the visit, the waitstaff was extremely rude and unhelpful. They were obviously not trained on how to be friendly and treat their customers. more

COOKIES! 4/24/2007

Wow! I read the one other review for this bar and wondered if we were writing about the same bar. I used to go to Dooleys which was across the street in the Gold tower office buildings basement. Dooleys closed and I had heard good things about Cookies so I thought a buddy of mine and I would try it. I would not go there on a 1st through 3rd date that's for sure. If you are looking for a truly odd experience in bar hopping I highly recommend Cookies. The night I went was I believe a friday and patrons were few and far between. I'm a smoker and LORD are you ever allowed to smoke there. The second hand smoke is thick which was pretty surprising since I've had more people in a car smoking than I saw in that bar. The karaoke was awfully loud and the folks singing were "just a tad" older than the usual fair at a Karaoke bar. The night I was there had a few gentlemen singing Skynyrd tunes back to back with ball caps and beerguts. I discovered on my way out they had a small run down patio area which would have nice to have known about to grab a bit of fresh air. On the plus side I never felt unwelcome or nervous about the place and as I write this I have plans to take another freind there this weekend. I can't see it ever becomming a regular stop for me but I'm not a big weekend drinker anyway. I can't explain what the draw of this place is, maybe it is because they don't try to hard so it feels like a temporary bar a freind might have set up in his garage. You just accept Cookies for what it is and either like it or not. I especially liked the fact that on Karaoke night they just set the gear up on the pool table so NO POOL that night. Give it a try and write your own review...I'd be interested in reading it. Pros: Small, dark and smokey Cons: Small, dar and smokey more

How to Know You're a Grown-Up ... LoL 10/8/2006

Sort of an affirmation of the "looks can be deceiving"-morality. Compared to all the 'snazzy, up-to-date' place, this place (at least on your first visit) seems to be a "hole in the wall": not very big, the architecture isn't 'air-tight,' there's no "employee-uniform," ... in short, it isn't "hip to the Neo-generation." Unless you're a grown-up! (a respectable adult) Then, you don't really care how 'up-to-date' the place is past the prices of drinks and the FREE entrance (i.e. no cover-charge). Outside of that, the staff will keep the riff-raff out; the customers that remain will quickly become good-family to you, the drinks will help you relax, and the occasional events (i.e. Karaoke, billiard-, card- and domino-games, etc.) will help you stay 'living' during the breaks between hard-work and hard-rest in Oklahoma "Black-Hole of America" City. Pros: Family Feel in an Adult Environment Cons: Limits of Space more
