Clara's Lansing Station

We went here when I was in town for a wedding, and i must say I was very impressed. the place has a nice decor, and was pretty inexpensive.We started out with a wine rec that was really good.. Pros: Nice Setting more

Unique & Fun Restaurant!\r Great food! Great service! Really neat idea for an old train station.Huge, Huge Menu, something for everyone! Great place to take family from out of town. Love to eat out in the train car...trains even still go by. The food choices are amazing...steaks, seafood, pasta, etc.. My favorite is the Chicken Hawaiian, or the Turkey Reuben Sandwich. Yum, Yum! Been going to Clara's for years and never had a bad meal! I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone! It's not your typical "chain restaurant!" more

I used to be a steady customer of Clara's, then I tried working there. I was sadly disillusioned when I realized that a good 3/4ths of the extensive menu came from Gordon Food or a frozen box and was microwaved and served. Definitely not worth the money they charge, in my opinion.\r \r Also, there aren't sinks around, only Purell dispensers, and the servers touch everything with their hands.\r \r However, the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, and they have a really fantastic Black and Blue burger. Might be worth a shot once or twice. more

For myself, guests, groups, Clara's is first choice in Lansing. Fabulous architectural setting, great food (huge menu) and service, and you can choose to eat in a real train dining car, and indeed watch trains glide by you on adjacent track. more

My coworkers and I went here for lunch recently. Clara's has a very extensive menu. They also have their own type of fries known as "Clara's fries". They are slices of baked potato that are deep fried. I ordered them and they were delicious. I loved the atmosphere as well. The restaurant is very old and nostalgic as it used to be an actual train station at one time. more

Their price is a little high, however their food is really good. This is a great place to sit down with some friends, have some drinks and enjoy your meals. Nice clean atmosphere. I have sat in the loft and on the main floor but haven't had the pleasure of eating in the train yet. I go there everytime I'm in Lansing. more

My husband and I were visiting Lansing and didn't know where to go for food. Everything was closed but the fast-food joints. While driving around downtown we saw this place and decided to give it a try. What a good decision! The menu has a broad range of choices, and the food is good. But the best thing about this place is the place itself. It's a restored train station + a train coach. The place has been decorated beautifully, with antiques bought in the US and Europe. Beautiful objects can be seen everywhere. It's so nice to be in a place that was created with true love and dedication. The place is a must see. Take your camera with you. Pros: Ambiance, Parking Cons: The space is huge, and so difficult to warm up. Take a sweater with you during the winter. more

Wide and varied menu. Sunday brunch...what a spread! Historical setting...you might even be seated in the train itself (although I like sitting in the loft the best). Summertime allows for patio seating, too. Make a reservation Friday through Saturday. We usually don't, and end up having to wait in the "depot". We also like that they can accommodate large groups. Great menu, great service, great ambience. Clara's has it all. more
