Ginormous Food 4/14/2009

The food portions here are ridiculously large. I can never really finish my meal unless I order something small (they have half portions and full portions) or "normal" like a burger with fries (where i'll only eat a small portion of the fries). Their entrees can feed a small family - i usually end up splitting the Ore Cart with someone else and STILL have leftovers for lunch the next day. The prices can be on the expensive side but then if you divide it by the number of meals it will feed you, then I supposed it's about right. The Prime Discount offers 15% off on your bill. Besides the Ore Cart, I like their Chicken Pot Pie, and their Pot Roast meal. one thing I do like is that while everything else is large, so are the veggies! I enjoy eating their large roasted chunks of veggies as a side. For dessert - if there are a lot of people in the party - we'll generally select the chocolate motherlode cake ( i think this is what it is called) - it has something like 7 layers of chocolate cake with icing all around. more

Great Ribs 8/18/2008

Every once in a while, you go there for birthdays or some craving for meats. It's not healthy since the portions are huge. more

Good atmosphere with CHILDREN, Great place ot eat 8/11/2006

I love Claim Jumper for Salads - My husband and I split one. They have a wonderful FREE Children's plate (for children 1-3 ish) it includes applesauce, two sticks of cheese, a turkey deli meat slice, and a cup on mandarin oranges. It isn't listed on the menu, you have to ask the server for it. It is PERFECT for my picky 19 month old daughter. My 5 yr. old son loves the Mini-Cheese Burgers, and has leftovers for the next day. Great Prices - Good Food! more

Claim Jumper 4/11/2006

Okay, if you are into big portions that seem to never end, this is your spot. Everything you get at Claim Jumper seems to be enough for three people but don't tlet that scare you - the food is yummy. Try their salads (all of them are unique and yummy), French Onion soup, Filet Mignon and Ribs. Also, their all you can eat salad bar is pretty fun too. A fun place to stop by in Redmond Town Center. more

Claim Jumper 4/1/2006

When Claim Jumper first opened in Redmond Town Center, it was hugely popular and the wait times were very long. Well, things have calmed down quite a bit in the years that it has been open. The interior is large yet homey with a nice, warm fireplace in the front. The meals are GIGANTIC which is usually good (although who wants a huge bunch of broccoli, hmm...). I can eat a lot but I always end up taking food home because everything they serve you is enormous. The staff is about average and the service time is within normal limits. Their chocolate cake is sooo good that I haven't bothered to try other desserts yet. We love their baby back ribs and I generally like any of their chicken dishes. more

Surprisingly Good Chain Like Food 3/28/2006

I had a quick dinner with my friend Cliff. I showed up about 30 minutes early, sat down at a table, opened my laptop with EVDO, and did some email. While I was waiting, I ordered a cranberry juice and a California Roll. It came quickly - the California Roll was superb. Cliff showed up and we ordered - I got a veggie burger, steak fries, and a side of brocolli. The portions were huge - almost too much (probably an entire avocado on my veggie burger.) While the food was definitely "ordinary", it was tasty, well prepared and served quickly. $45 for the two of us seemed very reasonable. more

Are you Hungry 3/18/2006

If you're hungry for some good food, and a lot of it, check out Claim Jumper. It used to be seriously crowded when they first opened up a couple of years ago, but I think it's calmed down now. They have good, basic food, in vast quantities. You won't leave hungry. My favorite was this prime rib sandwich on the lunch menu. Really good, with these thin, crispy onion rings on top. Great salad bar as well, although I never quite make it there since there is so much food! more

Chain serves large portions of unhealthy food 12/21/2005

Claim Jumper is very chain-y (it is a chain after all, I guess). They serve ridiculously large portions for lunch and dinner and almost everything on their menu is very fatty, greasy, and unhealthy - even the salads! Every time I eat here I feel sick afterwards from all the grease. The food is also pretty mediocre and only tastes remotely good because of all the fat in it. The bar area is good for meeting up with a group though, and has lots of tv's for game watching, and booths for smaller parties. more

Not cutting edge, but a good happy hour in Redmond 10/5/2005

Claim Jumper at Redmond Town Center is a nice place for happy hour. They have a lot of bar seating so you can always find a place, even with a lot of people. They also have food AND drink specials. Quite a few appetizers are $2. I recommend the Caesar salad and individual pizza. Both are worth the money. As for the drinks, I believe draft beers are a couple dollars and possible well drinks too. I always went for the wine, which isn't on special, but they have a pretty good selection of local wines. more

If you are hungry, eat here for hearty portions 9/9/2005

My husband and son always vote Claim Jumper Restaurant when we occasionally go out to eat. For the money, you get hearty portions and you usually take home leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. They will go out of their way to make it right or give you the meal free if something does go wrong. The staff gives attentive service without being intrusive. It is decorated in a Western theme with open, high ceilings making it feel less closed in and crowded. It is not usually too noisy for conversations. It can be crowded on weekends with a wait, but they give you a pager for the mall area. My son laughed his head off when I ordered the chocolate layer cake to take home and it came in a shoe box-had nine layers which was huge. Yum. Biscuits and muffins are huge, warm, and home made. more

Good (Amount) of Food 7/24/2005

Claim Jumper is a great resturaunt to go to if you are very hungry -- all their portions are huge and will fill even the largest of man up. Quantity aside, the food itself is delicious. I have always been happy with the service and have no complaints. Claim Jumper is a good resturaunt and worth trying out. more

Claim yours! 4/30/2005

Claim Jumper is a great restauraunt! We Redmonders are so lucky to have one 'in our midst' as it were. When you enter (...and as you leave), don't forget to get some free rootbeer candies to suckle your sweet tooth. Their atmosphere is a little dark--like an old log cabin (which 'tis the theme). Great food--I'd recommend their tortellini and the motherlode cake. Especially the cake, as it is an 'experience' getting a foot-tall or so slice of cake! A must visit! more
