The best theater in Raleigh 3/10/2010

This theater is great for everyone. Has kid shows in the summer and you can have your child's birthday party there. Which makes it very family friendly. On the other hand, you can buy beer or wine which is great for an older crowd. Pros: Nice staff, great concession items more

Under new management 8/6/2009

Hey everyone for those who have been disheartened by your last visit to the Grande please stop by and give us another shot. We have recently undergone a management change and are striving to train all employees that customer service is number one! We are also going through the building and trying to pull the small repairs back to like new condition. We have added a lot of neat things that you wont find at other multiplexes. We serve a wide range of beer starting at $3.00 and serve Orville Redenbacher popcorn. Along with vitamin water, alternative baking company cookies and lots more! We also run Mon-Thurs concession specials and to top it off we have a new rewards card. We are also working on making one theatre into an indie/art film house to bring you the latest in all art film. We do pre-open midnights every Thursday and actual late shows(past 11:30PM) every Friday and Saturday! So come check us out at raleighgrande, com! Pros: 16plex with lower prices and less crowd! Cons: NONE! more

No LIFE!!!!! 7/20/2009

I like this theatre but whoever wrote the deception review seriously has no life. I mean come who really has enough time in there day to think of that. Seriously!!!! more

not nice employees 4/16/2009

I called the cinema for a movie listing. Wanted to know how long the movie would be in the cinema. Female would not volunteer to answer me. I had to ask her to answer me. She did in a rude way. I went not to that cinema to see the movie. Pros: parking Cons: attitude more

Deception 1/12/2009

This is not a review of the theater since I haven't been, but it is a review of the rating system used by Citysearch. According to my browser, the Raleigh Grande Cinema has an average rating of 4.5 stars, but if you look at the individual reviews you have:\r 3 reviews x 5 stars = 15\r 2 reviews x 4 stars = 8\r 2 x 3 = 6\r 3 x 2 = 6\r 2 x 1 = 2\r \r 3 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 2 = 12 reviews\r 15 + 8 + 6 + 6 + 2 = 37 stars\r \r 37/12 is approximately equal to 3 stars, so why does citysearch have a 4.5 average? \r more

theater seating 6/16/2006

it was the clean theater in Raleigh... but has fallen into slight disrepair. The theater floors are kept swept, but the paint on the walls and ""balcony-side"" seats is peeling. Pros: ample parking more

Average but comfy theatre, still no listings 6/30/2005

Movieminder & Citysearch rarely have RG's listings, because they don't bother to send updates. Parking is so small it's dangerous, and the speed bumps will rattle your teeth. Movies are typically overpriced for local chains. Concessions are not very good, and still overpriced. Still the worst popcorn in Raleigh - Even the $1.50 theatre is better. Sound/lights are ok, but nothing to write home about. Screens are small, but big enough for the small rooms. On the other hand, it's very convenient, and has VERY comfortable stadium seats. Bathrooms are usually clean (love the jet powered hand dryers). Has consistently the best movies of the current crop (although they did show that FarenHypeMrMoore thing). People are friendly and helpful, and the ambience is nice. Pros: Convenient, Nice chairs, Friendly Cons: Tiny Parking, Concessions/Prices, Listings? Hello? more

You have no better choice. Start crying. 1/19/2003

This is one of the better cinemas in Raleigh. That said, Raliegh really needs a good cinema. I do my best to see movies when I go back to Charlotte. The quality of the theaters there is far superior. The sound leaves much to be desired. Surround sound is more like Surfront sound. I can't help but to be reminded every few minutes that I am watching a movie, even when watching the very best movies. Go here until they build a better one. Pros: Stadium Seating, Better sound Cons: Small Parking Lot, Poor Layout, Swamped w/ teenagers more

It's all about the popcorn... 12/19/2002

which is one of the reasons this theater is so sad - Yes it is a theatre with great stadium seating - but the sound often bleeds over from the movie next door, the parking is a nightmare, the tickets are overpriced, management seems to be invisible and yes, Virginia, the popcorn really is the worst in Raleigh --- with good popcorn, I can almost forgive the other faults.... Pros: Stadium seats Cons: POOR POPCORN, Missing Management, Overpriced more

Great theatre. 12/18/2002

Even though the drive is longer, I prefer this theatre over most others in the area simply b/c it is more comfortable, smells nicer and they have a greater selection of concessions (albeit pricey). Still no movie times posted anywhere besides a newspaper - who wants to waste money on one of those when you have the internet? Pros: stadium seating, good concessions, great sound & picture Cons: small parking lot, pricey more

overall nice area 10/25/2002

overall nice area, parking could be better, make sure you arrive with plenty of time before show begins because parking at peak times is a hassel. more

Going down hill fast!!! 10/14/2002

This place was great when I moved to Raleigh three years ago. It has since been on a steady decline. Saturday night I noticed cob webs on the lights. Not just little cob webs, but huge cob webs. It looks like they have decorated for Halloween! Recently I went into a theatre and the trash from the previous movie was not removed by the staff. I had to sit in what looked like a landfill. And I had paid $7.50! The seats and floors are nasty. Why have the seats not been cleaned? Does management not notice? I feel like I need a shower when I leave this place! Pros: movie selection, stadium seating, comfortable seats Cons: dirty, dirty, dirty more

Do you want my business? 9/2/2002

I would like to know what the management of the Raleigh Grande feels they are doing to deserve my business. Is it is nice theatre? Yes. Do I feel like they want my business? No. I am not expecting them to roll out a red carpet, but posting movie times should be a given, trying to reduce concession lines would be nice. Until they show me they want my business, I don't mind driving out of my way to go to other 'nice' theatres like Cary or even Southpoint. Southpoint is run by the same company, I don't know why the two are so different. If you have an extra 10 minutes, take the time to go to Crossroads. Your money should go to someone that is trying to earn your business. Pros: Nice Theatres, Generally clean Cons: No respect 4 customer, Poor traffic flow more

Movies? Times? Lazy 8/23/2002

To be one of the ""best"" theaters in town you would think they would actually post their movies and times? I have come to this site repeatedly as my husband and I see tons of movies and they very rarely have their information listed. They have lost quite a bit of business from us to the Cary theater which is much farther away for us but at least I can always get the times. If you're having the same problem try the theater at Crossroads in Cary ...it is VERY nice....and I know what's playing! Pros: Good movie selection Cons: Movie listing online? more

top notch 7/26/2002

this is the best cinema i have seen in a long time. if it was only digital it would be the best ever y ithink more

What's Playing??!! 7/24/2002

I really like this theater, it is always comfortable and the audio is great, but where the heck are the movie listings??!! How come they can't update their listings on Citysearch like everyone else? Calling is a never ending busy signal and I don't get the paper anymore b/c I read it ONLINE! If this theater is going to be this difficult, I'll just go down the street to Atlantic Springs. At least I know WHAT is playing there and WHEN! Pros: Good Audio, Comfortable Cons: Updated Movie list??, Bad parking more
