After living in several different cities in the US, my husband and I moved to Gainesville and decided to try Chutnees. Keep in mind, that we traveled to India this past October and ate Indian food everyday for 2 weeks. I am native Asian-Indian. I do expect that Indian cuisine in the US showcases the wonderours flavours of my country. My husband only ever orders chicken makhni at Indian restaurants. We ordered chicken makhi and chole and naan. All were AWFUL. The chole had a layer of oil on the surface, and was horribly underseasoned. The makhni tasted rancid. When we spoke with the chef his response was Maybe you've never eaten chicken makhni before. I should have said Maybe you've never cooked chicken makhni before. Do NOT waste your money here. If you want good Indian cuisine go to Amrit Palace in Ocala or drive to Orlando or Tampa. We wasted $60 tonight because we didn't want our very pleasant server to get stuck with the bill.
