Absolutely the worst place ever 2/3/2011

O. M. G. I went to dinner here with my family for the first time today. It was an episode out of Kitchen Nightmares. First, we had to beg to get water. We ordered our food, and it took 30 minutes for one dish to come out. 10 minutes later, the second dish came out. 10 minutes after that, the third dish came out. It was a stew, and it was cold. I asked for it to be reheated, and the waiter said of course and never came back to get it. Meanwhile the other tables were having the same problems. People were beginning to yell at the waiters about the slow service. At least 3 tables left because they had waited 40 minutes and had not gotten any food. The waiters finally came up with food but it turned out to be for one of the tables that had left--but the other tables asked the waiters if they could have the food, since their own food was not coming out. Basically they were scavenging out of hunger. One waiter kept on going around, not serving food or water or doing anything useful, but occasionally apologizing and saying, "It's not my fault". We finally had enough and told the waiter to take off the cold stew and the fourth dish that had never come out even after one hour, and left. So, I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Unless you don't want to eat. more

Great Food 2/1/2010

the food was amazing, but it sounds like maybe i just ordered the right things? i wasn't sure where to start because this isn't your typical Korean Food restaurant, but the waitress was really nice and gave me some good recommendations. We started with the spicy shrimp and scallion pancakes which were delicious and beautifully presented. for entrees we had the kalbi gim that MELTS in your mouth. to dieee for!!! and the tofu stew, which was perfect, very flavorful and not overly spicy. everything was amazing but i honestly think the kalbi gim was the best thing i have ever had, and i do a LOT of eating haha. i'm salivating just thinking about it.. all in all excellent food, and 10 thumbs up if i had it for the service. dont forget to get the kalbi gim :) Pros: Nice Decor and Great Food Cons: None more

our FAVORITE new spot in the city 1/31/2010

I stopped into Chom Chom last night and could not be happier that I did. Chom Chom is the best place to try new dishes and enjoy an evening in a classic setting. The bar was crowded and the tables were full of people trying some of the best dishes in nyc. \r \r We are actually going to throw a birthday party in their upstairs private space in the near future. The decor inside Chom Chom is not to be missed.... great place~ Pros: great food, great wine, great decor Cons: none more

Best maki in town! 7/10/2008

If you are in the mood for some delicious and creative rolls, Sushi Twist is the answer to your prayers. The Jazz Roll and Honey Roll were fresh and fanstastic. BUT the Yellowtail Ceviche almost stole the show. The restaurant also has a great sake list, as well as an impressive cocktail menu. We are definitely going back to try the hot entrees, and judging by what we experienced, we know we won't be disappointed. Service and atmosphere were also excellent. But the food was the highlight of our night. GO THERE! more

Great Experience. 6/25/2008

I tried the Salmon Ceviche... and I fell in love. Hands down, the best ceviche i've had, they add jalepenos, peppers, and fresh oranges, in the zesty spicy soy sauce type sauce, i cant stay away.\r \r more

Sushi & Fun 6/4/2008

Loved the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. My glass of water was always filled unnoticed. Price is comparable to most sushi restaurants in the city but the quality is definitely on the high-end. I recommend the seaweed salad, tuna ceviche, and the amazing Madison roll. more

no next time!!! 5/7/2008

Absolutely awful customer service. Ordered a take away at lunch time, and was kept waiting for ages (10+ minutes). I did appreciate it was busy at such times, so asked their staff (guy in black without glasses) when my food would be ready. Then I heard the rudest statement at a take away ever: ""Next time you order, mind the time. We are very busy now.""\r Thank you for the instruction - there will definitely not be a next time!\r Btw my order, vegetarian ramen with pumpkin soup, was absolutely bland with no trace of flavour or whatsoever, only a messy tangle of textureless noodles and some starchy, yellow ""soup"" with some rather mysterious looking veggies. Pros: rude Cons: rude more
