Highly Recommend 11/29/2006

Our party of 6 had dinner at 8 on Sunday. There was only one chef working because it was Sunday, so the chef was backed up getting all our orders out at the same time. Not only did the waitress come over and apologize for the delay, but the manager brought over a complimentary appetizer while we waited. it was DELICIOUS! It wasn't one of those small cheap appetizers that most restaurant give to avoid customers from complaining, they brought over an expensive popular appetizer. We loved it, the sushi was also wonderful, the food display was extraordinary. \r \r Highly Recommended!! Pros: service, food more

Twist & Shout 11/21/2006

The decor is strangely traditional yet sexxy, but what really keeps me going back for more: the Lychee Martini and Spicy Crunch Roll!! Pros: service more

Needs some improvements 11/1/2006

We were there on the Halloween night. The staff and chefs were really sweet and welcoming. But if you'd prefer a restaurant with a bustling scene, then this place is not for you, there were only several tables taken at around 8pm. Because we were one of the few, we got the maximum attention from the waiter. We hardly even sit down when the waiter came up to ask us about drinks. The light was too dim to read, our candle cup was not lit either(it looked burnt-out) so it was difficult for us to go through the menu. When we asked about recommendations, our waiter scrambled for words nervously, and his accent made it hard for us to understand his English well. So we had to choose on our own. But I think we did a good job. Our sushi was tasty, the food was well-presented, they sit on the plate beautifully. We ordered several rolls but when the food came, we were not told which one was which one, so we can't recommend for you here. It was a bit overpriced but we loved the chef's work, so we left good tips. I would say this place needs professional staff management. more

delicious & great atmosphere 9/17/2006

it's the place to be romantic or a get-together with friends. soup & salad are excellent, and good way to start off. the rolls were delicious, teriyaki dishes were very good. dessert was not bad at all. all of us had a great time there. I would guess the only rant would be dish they used to serve the sashimi deluxe, a bit too big there. Pros: great selection of rolls / dishes, atmosphere more

hip spot 8/13/2006

my girlfriends and i love eating sushi there. the rolls are delish, and when we ask, always make our drinks 'extra strong' without the attitude. perfect place for us to get together and have dinner and drinks before heading out for the night. favorite is the spicy lovers roll. more

is it edible? 8/12/2006

I have to say as a japanese, the fish here is not fresh at all if all the reviewer think they know anything about it. Or did I have a bad luck?!\r When i entered the space, i already knew it's not the authentic japanese. But wait, it may not mean anything as long as they bring me the best fish! \r So i did ask what the good stuff they have the night, waitress said everything is fresh, which made me wonder what she knows at all....didn't even turn around and ask the chef, Ok, I was wrong to ask. But i was patient till i saw the sushi/sashimi on the plate. ok, you can't serve 'brown' sea urchin, which i dare to taste a bit and it disgusted me! Some pieces of sashimi were ok, but mostly had terrible texture_not edible... After all i realized the decor does indicate the authenticity of the chef... Cons: bad food more

AMAZING food 6/25/2006

the food is so tasty here. i dont usually eat sushi because i hate when it has that fishy taste but there was none of that here, everything is so fresh. try the firebomb/firecracker roll- cant remember which it was. i cant believe the last review. "beautifulprincess" must be the cheapest person alive. she went with a family of 5 and spent $80 for fresh sushi and thinks that's expensive?!?! some people should just stay home if they can't afford otherwise. and who in the world memorizes the cost per item? i've been to hundreds of sushi restaurants in the city and the food really stands out. definitely not your run of the mill. dont! order a california roll here, far too many options Pros: Fresh food, great selection, friendly people more

romantic spot 6/25/2006

Went to a singles party there a few weeks back, and loved one of the complimentary hor'deurves, so went back with the guy that I met at the event, and asked for a variety of appetizers to figure out which one was the one i liked. Loved them all, but liked the chicken kara age the best. Quiet and romantic, going back for our one month anniversary! Pros: romantic more

nice dinner 6/25/2006

Had a sweet Asian girl as my waitress who suggested great rolls for a sushi-newbie as myself. Was a little scared of "raw fish", but it tasted great. She even made me easy-to-use chopsticks!! Meal came out to $70, included edamame, 3 rolls, 2 martinis and 2 beers. Didn't try the desserts, we preferred to drink instead! ;) Pros: cute waitress and bartender more
